On the MEDWAY Logistics freight train at the near ending of this video what's with the diesel locomotive sandwiched between the electric locomotive and the container cars?

It was operating from Leixios to Alcântara-Mar, the last part of the journey between Alcântara-Terra and Alcântara-Mar is not electrified so the diesel loco is used instead. Boa memória, CP 3500 pintura antiga! Os vermelhos são melhores do que antigo, topo do comboio da renovação é melhor do que a pintura antiga.
0:38 Na minha opinião, não deviam fazer deste tipo comboio Alcântara-Terra - Castanheira do Ribatebo e Azambuja - Lisboa-Stª Apolónia porque nas horas pontas só faz é encher os comboios e mesmo assim os comboios de 2 andares também cheios e imaginam com total das pessoas em UM comboio só 4 carruagens, 1 andar... Tal como no metro, não acho muito justo mas para mim tanto faz.
