    What about wool and wool blends?

    • @FourJaysFour
      @FourJaysFour 3 роки тому +1

      Wool is lovely. You'll get tired of it before it wears out. Cons are it's loved by bugs/moths so carpets are often embedded with pesticide. Cleaning is NOT easy no matter ehat the salesman says. It's a natural fiber, so color you actually get may look quite different from what you saw in showroom. And, it's usually most expensive. (Also some people have allergies to lanolin in wool) HTH

    Very informative. Question I'm looking to put new rugs on cement floors in basement that has a lot of moisture. I'm worried about mold.
    Would I be better off no padding & put A Nylon or Triexta carpet. What advice could u give ?

    Aw man, I live in a duplex apartment. My floors were just retiled and I wanna protect my new flooring. That's why I'm looking for room-sized carpet so I won't have to mop as much as on a naked floor. I know what I want in room-sized carpet. First, I want something that's highly stain resistant. I also want something that can be swept with a broom or vacuumed. I also prefer dark colors. So, what would you recommend for me?

      Check out Mohawk's Airo carpet. It has an attached pad and does not need to have any tackles nailed into the floor or padding stapled down. It just gets cut in wall-to-wall and does not need to be stretched. It is the only hypoallergenic carpet on the market.

    The perfect carpet for this situation is a carpet by Mohawk called Airo It is a carpet that is hypoallergenic and has an attached padding It is installed with no tackless stripes and is layed loose It does not have to be stretched in The carpet breaths , so any dampness will pass through up from the concrete up out over the face fiber. This is just what you are looking for. Check it out further on Mohawk’s web site at Mohawkflooring. Com

    Isn’t nylon more durable than polyester and wears slower? Paying more for quality makes sense to me.

    • @fashioncarpets
      @fashioncarpets  2 роки тому +1

      Yes nylon is more durable than polyester. But if you want to save a few bucks, polyester is a good choice for non high traffic areas. like bedrooms.

      @@fashioncarpets should I be worried if the carpet store near me has some nylon options that are cheaper than polyester?

    • @fashioncarpets
      @fashioncarpets  2 роки тому +1

      @@beaglebutter It depends on the face weight of the carpet. A 35 oz nylon could be cheaper than a 70 oz poly

      @@fashioncarpets gotcha. I don’t know the weights but I’m comparing a plush nylon to a frieze polyester so that makes sense.
