The bilge pump was running since 2:30. It's a fiberglass boat. Where is the water coming from ?

@@2pugman All boats have thru-hulls whether it is a wood-built boat or fiberglass. How does the bait box get water ?

On that first boat isn't the pump putting out a lot of water ?

That first landing: did you see the big red R's on the motors? We know what THAT stands for...

BG I / we... do not "preach", as you suggest. But, I do give recommendations, opinions, and advice! And, here's some common sense ADVICE... to all those who can afford to buy a boat [especially big expensive ones]... use your brains [if you have any] and prepare lines AND FENDERS well ahead of time!!! Beforehand (while) idling and approaching the dock. That aviods any confusion and last-minute desparate clumsy fumbling! It's called planning ahead! (Wow, such wisdom & common sense... huhhh???!!!) 😮

My buddy has a 36 Contender..
We spend no more than 1 minute launching and retrieving...
We already have everything loaded in the boat, back down, I jump in, he releases the bow eye.
Engine start, I back off and pick him up at either the courtesy dock or the same dock.
    No ropes, no fenders.
If I am by myself, I fender up and use a spring line....

At first I was wondering why everyone else on the boat is a buffoon and not helping the docking process, then the Captain answered my questions...

The motor turns the stern of the boat, not the bow.

At least he is working the twin motors separately but needs more training. If done correctly, he won't need to turn the wheel.

In all your vids and what I've seen at Black Point, 79th and Boynton I've never seen anyone jump off and slam their body into the dock & almost hit the drink. Dangerous and again as a Captain you don't leave the helm. This is unreal. I hope he's o.k.

The first captain looks like someone shaved a Western lowland gorilla and then bought him a boat. And that’s not even fair to gorillas! I’ve seen one recover a Cessna from a stall once.

I never allow my passengers/crew help when I dock. I have a strict rule that all must remain completely still because their movements affect the movement of the boat. I have my lines ready when I approach the dock. I have to tuck in next to a bigger boat to be at my dock. I'm gentle with my approach and am able to throw it in neutral, grab the starboard bow line and tie up the bow, then grab my starboard stern line and finish the tie up. Then, my passengers/crew are free to move about and get their stuff off. Only then do I put out my fenders and secure the boat. I don't have to deal with a trailer, but I have no issues when I do have to load it on a trailer. I'm an old lady but I could teach these fools a thing or two.

Before leaving any dock, The captain would be wise to set up a "crew" to help with the lines and such. The Captain should always be at the wheel. Captain Keith, Tight lines
