My favorite part of this event is CW-ST-4's final scene, When Kristen answered Friston's question with another question, "What do they inevitably mean, and what is it, that life ultimately seeks?" Then story ends, you will be left confused and curious about the answers.... untill the answer is handed right over to you along with the medal, "The Future." "The only destined meaning and the ultimate pursuit of life"
pretty hopeful take on that; Book of the Fallen series has also an interesting take; in one of the books, a young general is trying to have a conversation with around 50.000 year-old intelligent undead being (the remnant of first human civilization): - What thoughts dwell in mind of someone who have lived that long? What do you tend to.. think about? - ... 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮. - Ah... and what about your brethren? Do they also think about the same... topic? - No. In fact, most of them prefer not to think at all. - Why? - ... because it's futile.
And for anyone who missed it, during Hoolheyak dream sequence with Friston death, Friston and his daughter (and Hoolheyak) looked straight to Terra up above the sky, seemingly them being on one of the two Talos.
It's hard to not assume that Lowlight, in his HQ, have this one massive room with a lot of folders, documents, whiteboards, pins & notes, containing all of what has been released so far in terms of Arknights lore and character in order to keep track on how each of it connects to each other. It's an understatement to say that they care about their lore at this point. To them it's as real as the history we have here on Earth and the encyclopedia they made proves this. Mind you, most gacha games have events where they celebrate stuffs such as Valentines, Christmas, Summer, etc., with feel good non-canon stories just to pad out time before they release the next installment to the Main Story. We don't have anything resembling that so far. Do remember that us in Global had to celebrate Valentine's with fucking Vigilio as it's mini-event. And our Summer events has us discovering remote locations within the world as a form of reprieve, discovering it's inhabitants and their way of life and the problems that they deal with while living in that place. On top of that, we're entering the 5th year with several countries still not explored and with Endfield potentially providing us a glimpse in our future; all while we're still reliving the past on some events, and dealing with all the problems in the present with the Main Story. tldr: We're in for a long, wild ride.
Despite being too extensive at times, Arknights' story is my favorite story of any mobile game, ever. They consistently reveal new details about Terra, but without screwing their own narrative. Most other gacha's events are just silly anime filler, while their story is such a mess, even the authors don't know where tf they're at anymore (I'm looking at you, FGO)
Lone Trail is honestly peak fiction! It’s amazing how Arknights can take so many different genres of storytelling/themes and make them mesh so well together into one beautiful universe 🙏
I never thought that a "Side Story" will not only have a big impact to the main story but also have one of the best story I've ever read peak writing over here ladies and gentlemen
Arknights has wonderful world building that is WOEFULLY UNDERLOOKED by its writers. The games at it's best when it touches on its unique setting instead of the current boring fiction politics main plot.
In CW-10 After Kristen says: "6972 Meters. If you fly straight up at this angle, as long as you can soar past that height, the Galleria Stellaria will no longer be disturbed by any ionization reactions." In other words, 6152 meters doesn't seem to be where the barrier itself exists - it's where its effects become catastrophic for whatever enters it. Compare it to a magnet: the barrier would be the magnet, and 6152 meters would be where the magnetic field becomes dangerous once you get that close. P.S. Saria mentions (also during CW-10 After) that GS instruments are failing because of interference, to which Kristen notes "there's still a thousand meters to go".
I read the lore of this event and i seriously could not get over the fact - Kal'tsit was an AI that has become both spectator and played crucial role in the world of terra for more than 10.000 years right alongside us before & after we entered the Sarcopaghus - The unfathomable truth that our kin were preserved for a damn thousands of decades and with their life force being converted into an energy to supply the weapon that Kirsten used to breach the skies of Terra, has ironed the fact that we are the last of our previous kin - The fact that Originium itself is some sort of a evolution concept that was deemed necessary to happen in order for life in terra to evolve & adapt - Was seriously not expecting that the Teekaz which now we've known more familiarly as the Sarkaz was the true inhabitant of terra and those other races who came after them was the result of the Originium (Did humans and Sarkaz lived alongside before the great catastrophe happens which resulted the Sarkaz to take over the population of terra as the humans goes into full hibernations i'm not sure either) -The fact that something sus indeed was happening somewhere in the "North" possibly the border where Sami is? and that giant ass portal we see in the IS#4 background teaser really makes me eager to dig in what surprise an twist that awaits in IS#4
I feel like originium having part into shaping the races of Terra might be that it changed ´´animals´´ into humanoid form. There are two big hints to this- Ho´olheyak with her inherited memories talks about her goal being regaining a more powerful flight capable form of a kukulkan (eg. big flying snake) and of course, mephisto becoming bird monster. It also would make sense why all wild animals are originium resistant- those who were not changed and those resistant... well, resisted, even the a.i. guy remarks that burden beasts are respectable for their lack of change (also the biodiversity seems pretty meh, fowlbeasts, insects, burdenbeasts, dogs, slugs and that is pretty much it). All of the races except feranmuts (which I do not know how they fall into this) also have originium in their blood even when healthy, which is strange. Oh and that would explain why Elders are replaced by Ancients even though Ancients are pretty much inferior - the originium pushes them into a more ´´human´´ form akin priestess and doctor (which do not seem more superhuman than average ancient), eventually quelling the more powerful traits and making them just ancients over multiple generations.
Only to point out the Kal sit thing. Its not that she is a AI but a artificial lifeform to assist Ancients. Even if her body is destroyed she just "rebirths" herself aka randomly pops up again after her body reconstructs itself. Its implied that the Teekaz during the Anicent & Elder timeline were just "interesting little lifeforms" and survived/evolved during the doomsday catastrophe that fucked up the planet. Which is tied to the origin of Originium because majority of Sarkaz are born infected. So that accelerated their evolution most likely. So Originium was made to counteract/fight aginst the global disaster. Its current state seems very twisted & warped. It kinda ties up that all the animal peopel are "humanoid" because of the effects of Originium & their original forms are just that animals. Which now fully explains why Mephisto turned into a regular songbird & mutated to a digimon becuase of the Originium when he went into the Sacrophagus. As according to Kal Sit the original purpose of the Sacrophgus is not healing but "reverting you to your original state" aka sort of eternal youth. (Makes sense for a stasis/cryopod) Fun Fact Talos-II also has a portal at its northpole so most likely Arknights portal leads to Endfields Talos-II and Endfields portal leads to another unknown planet.
@@MonoReaper Thank you very much for giving several answers that lingers in my mind Regarding your statement of Kal'tsit in ". Its not that she is a AI but a artificial lifeform to assist Ancients. Even if her body is destroyed she just "rebirths" herself aka randomly pops up again after her body reconstructs itself." was a simple yet great explanation that i also remembers regarding of her, but then again the process of her "rebirth" for how many times she dies must've costs a lot of energy and there's probably a limit on how much she could "resurrect" herself your answer towards Teekaz/Sarkaz have corrected me from thinking of something that might be a bit incorrect so thank you for that Also Talos II has a portal too on their side? i might need to check that later after the archive from several beta testers have finally concluded
@@rayhanqhadafi9688 We dont know if she has a limit or not. Just that apparently the Nachtmar King killed her once before & saw different versions of her. IS1 her squad dialog sort of talks about Reincarnation and she is most likely talking about herself with the tree branches example from Gaul legends. Her spacesuit skin has unique voicelines which give more insight. Endfield story strailer straight up reveals Rhodes Island, with images of the Doctor, reached the north pole of Terra & dealt with the "Daemons". Endfield being a new/its own company trying to gain a foothold on Talos-II. Around 500years into the future.
One thing tho, I’m pretty sure the Sarcophagus aren’t sucking their lifeforce out. From what I remember, Friston said in the lines of, since it’s been 10k years, the Sarcophagus usual power source right now does not have enough energy to properly sustain and revive them, so all of Doktah’s peeps can be considered effectively “dead”. And so, Friston being tired of this forever waiting and monitoring the “coffins” decided to bet on using the remaining Sarcophagus energy to power Kirsten’s plan to pierce the sky to bring a new age to the current inhabitants of Terra
One other interesting thing was how the old race that Doctor, Priestess etc belong to colonized Terra during the process of escaping from 'something' IIRC. I wonder what that insane outside threat is...
The reveal for The Preserver and even hints about the doctor's past and his people gave me chills when I was reading through the event. This event really is one of the best, it had a lot of satisfying payoffs, hints about the future of the story for both our characters and for Terra, and the best part is that this is a link to Endfield. I love this game so much.....
I was very happy when Kal'tsit talked about how the biggest issue is people not working together. That has always been one of the most commonly reoccurring themes in Arknights. Problem could be solved much easier but someone's stuborn selfish motive just makes things way way worse. This is why every single possible interaction between players in game is always mutual benefit, the game promotes cooperation. This also why Arknights should never EVER be allowed to have pvp because that would go against the very message of the game.
for those who want more context of the black crown and ama-10 kaltsit, their modules (Kaltsit and Amiya) gave even more lore of how they are related to this ancient civilization
I honestly didn't expect the Doctor's actual origin. Yes, I thought he was an alien or an ancient being, but not that (mind blown). And Kirsten's backstory is a great nod to the real Wright brothers. HG even threw a bit of Icarus' myth there, seeing that the Wrights also lost their lives for attemtping to reach the sky.
It’s awesome how they managed to create countless amazing storylines with their own messages & satisfying endings all while dropping the biggest lore bomb in the story of Arknights. This is my new favourite event, it was hella peak
Legitimately, Lone Trail has set Arknights' Lore Goals higher than ever with it being essentially one of the largest lore nukes set in the story, from revealing that the Doctor predated all of Terra, to finding out that both PRTS and Max are AIs and made by Friston, HyperGryph has set the stage for bigger and more lore heavy events near the future aswell as revelations.
They really need to work on their writing so it is easier to consume. It is easily their weakest issue. It's like they have all these amazing ideas but are sort of bad at presenting it. Other gachas like FGO animate their sprites to present action. Not to mention their nodes are broken up in a more digestible manner. Instead of 1 node taking 30 min to read. They could try to break it up into 3 10 min parts or cut out the fluff.
@@kosmosXcannon im pretty sure this is merely a translation issue in cn arknights is actually one of the best written stories in general that is out and being worked on right now
@@augustuslunasol10thapostleYeah I heard translating Chinese is somewhat hard. Something along the lines of it being information dense and western languages being more simple and straight to the point.
@@kosmosXcannon It's simply the difference between a high context culture and a low context culture. Chinese and a lot of eastern languages are high context while English and a lot of western languages are low context. To put it simply, a lot of verbal communication in Chinese relies on non verbal communication to completely understand everything. English on the other hand, nearly everything can be understood from just verbal communication. While non verbal communication is obviously present in English as well, you can communicate the same ideas just as easily through direct verbal communication. There's more nuance to high vs low context cultures that I'm not covering so I would look into it more if you're curious. With that context in mind, its not hard to see how translating Chinese to English can be difficult You might think "Shouldn't it be easy since it's all Chinese text to English text?". Native chinese readers would be able to intuit the missing non verbal communication context from text alone but the translators would have to do the dubious task of trying to convey that non verbal context entirely verbally. This is easily how stuff gets lost in translation. It's why good modern translation also involves some localization in order to convey the same meaning in a way the reader would understand without the original language's context. I think back to Pokemon Brock's "Jelly Donuts" (which were actually onigiri) every time localization comes to my mind. A very extreme example of localization but not too unreasonable when you think about how long ago that was.
this event really was insane it had so much good stuff it had stunning background arts gameplay wise we got one of the most wanted operators and we also have gotten so many important lore drops this event cant wait for either is4 to explain whatever the icefields are really about or even better another big event like this but for that part
one very interesting thing about that door is that surt's notes, where she catalogs her "memories from other people" she talks about a door in the north that cant be opened "Snowy mountain, a barren snowy mountain, unending snowy mountains. Castle, stone castle, tower, unopenable door."
The way “Talos” is written makes it seem like it is the star in the middle of its star-system. This would then make sense with “Talos 2” as the way it is written denotes it as the second planet from its star (Talos). I haven’t finished Lone Trail, but I am excited to see where this goes.
It's impressive how a simple gatcha has such a rich and impressive history. The truth is that this event blew my mind (insert gif blowmind) The sky of terra, the northern gate and the threat of the seaborns in the sea, my head can't handle so much battle front
Lets go Quaiser! Even tho I read the lore myself, I always like to check your videos anyway. Since space/sky holds special place my heart, the lore was banger.
Let’s also mention the fact that when Hoo Hoo was in a VR simulation of Friston’s memories, she saw a giant circular object in the sky and asked “Is that… Terra?”
Actually, correct me if I am wrong, the hyper weapon they coment about in lone trail is the shard, the shard in the story has yet to activate, what caused the destruction was a very powerful revenant, what Tin Man is.
Yeah, It's mentioned in one of the investigation reports that the DOD was scared shitless of the Shard, and the weapon that destroyed the Duke of Windermere's battleship was a revenant possessing a Sarkaz airship.
So in the JP ver. When Kal'tsit told Friston about the Black Crown Kal'tsit : " Lord of Fiends " As the ancient Teekaz people called it. Friston : ティーカズ?... 人? あの奇妙な固有生命体? ( Teekaz ?... People? those odd endemic lifeform? ) 人 : people, man, person, human being EN just : Teekaz ?... those odd endemic lifeform? All this time we think that races in Terra are people with animal features, but for Friston race ( human ) it's actually the other way around It's a LIFEFORM with HUMAN FEATURES that's why Friston having the question mark when Kal'tsit said " Teekaz people ". Friston also referred Kristen as odd lifeform with human shape It's like in real life we human see Orangutan or Chimpanzee, we don't consider them as human with animal features, but as animal with shape/features like human if that makes sense. What we still don't have info is wether the Teekaz is already have human features when the Friston race ( human ) came to Terra or the Teekaz still a lifeform looks similar like the Aggeloi in Endfield and slowly evolving. If this true this could explain about Mephisto got reverted back to a bird in Chapter 8. Edit : CW-10 After
And Friston answer when we asking about " Can we cure Oripathy ? " Friston said 'Curing' it's difficulty in our current situation, but there may be other way to 'stop' or 'use' it. Perlica archive : The operator have to accept the company's regular physical examinations to ensure the stable operation of the Originium organs in her body. in Endfield we are already in the state of 'use' Oripathy ?
The confirmation is when Ho'olheyak visits Friston and thinks her tail/plumage is a weird fashion trend (and how he notes Kristen as a "humanoid" being instead of human).
Kristen is a mad genius respect making her dream possible Fake sky Sarcophagus Ancient ai god Columbian ai president everything is peak in lone trial Also priestess arrival hint about originium
What are your thought's on ho'olheyak's role and lore reveal here near the end, personally i love how she joins us last minute because we are her last strand of hope xD
for anyone who hasn't been subscribe to this guy, what are you doing? he has work so hard to tell the summary of lone trail event lore that I bet some of us wouldn't gonna read em all and might not even understand it. support him!
13:16 Spoiler on CN Babel Event: . . . . . . . . . . . Friston wasn't lying, it really is unification. Unifying everyone into a shared consciousness to be peaceful without fear of the threat of Observers. Hypergryph really is cooking.
Lone Trail. Beautiful, a story just beautiful, one whose elements and reveals properly paced while incorporating on a greater narrative. I really am excited for Expeditioner's Jqlomarkar(?) and Friston-3 to drop.
Lone Trail is so far, the most amazing story in Arknights for me. Not only does it have soooooo much lore, it also reawakened my dormant fascination of space. I always felt this feeling of fascination towards celestial bodies in my childhoood which I just kinda forgot over time. But Lone Trail, with its story and the great OST, reawakened that. Not sure how this fascination would progress over time but for now, I'm just happy with the reunion.
Not really. Terra is its own planet. With the Teekaz as the native. The previous civilization seems more of an alien that chose to settle down on this planet. So calling it "post apocalyptic earth" doesn't sound that accurate
I just absolutely adore this event and the lore it gave us. This isn't simple "worldbuilding" and a friend called it "TERRA-forming." And I am honestly inclined to agree. Bad pun aside, it was revealed that a lot of the world of Arknights was indeed engineered. Including Originium. Through this, our complete understanding of this world was transformed beyond everything we considered before. And I am scared of IS4 because it stands to further expand on all of it.
So….to recap. Here is just a SMALL list of what got revealed in this event story: Terra is the Earth we all know and are familiar with, approx 13,000 years following an unknown apocalyptic event The doctor and Priestess are humans from this civilization preserved for thousands of years in stasis chambers known as sarcophagi These stasis chambers apparently can produce an amount of energy unrivaled by any conventional originium furnace or tech that current Terra possesses. And that’s just for ONE sarcophagus The Doctor and Priestess knew each other in their prior lives and it is implied they were in a relationship, likely romantic Kaltsit is some kind of android or immortal created being that was created by the people from the ancient Earth civilization Priestess has some kind of control over Kaltsit and physically “programmed” her to be unable to tell the Doctor about his past or relationship to Priestess. Kaltsit’s age is not confirmed to be also roughly 13,000 years old from this info, maybe slightly younger as she was created very close to the start of the calamity that ended the ancient humans. One of these ancient humans is named Friston and he essentially volunteered to commit Minecraft server exit in order to be turned into a digital recreation of his mind and watch over hundreds of thousands of other sleeping ancient humans in sarcophagi who were out there as a kind of “Ark” of sorts to rebuild after the calamity ended. Once the calamity started Friston lost contact with the outside world, but tried sending out signals to reach the outside and ascertain how the state of the world was. However, when he tried this all he heard on the other end were explosions and screams for literal hundreds of years without end. Eventually after thousands of years being constantly awake and conscious, Friston gave up on his mission to preserve the ancient humans for eventual reawakening and abandoned the project and dooming the humans in the sarcophagi to slowly die. It is implied the ancient humans somehow “raised up the animals of the earth” and created all the animal-human races of Terra we know today. This may also be why some of the most ancient beings in Arknights are creatures like Emperor and President Max who look like just talking animals. They may have been the first stages of creating the modern humanoid-animal races that now exist. The Sarkaz were once known as the “Teekaz” and were “the original inhabitants of Terra”, meaning that once the Earth was transformed from what it once was into the Terra we know today, the Sarkaz were the first of the humanoid races to exist. (Also, presumably the Sankta too because it is stated at one point the Sarkaz and Sankta were once one race) There is a literal transparent barrier around the entirety of Terra that prevents anything from entering space There is a giant portal located at the North Pole of Terra. This is the portal that operators use to reach Talos in Arknights Endfield Something happened in “the south” (presumably the South Pole) that caused Friston to refer to it as “fallen” Terra does not have 2 moons, it is in fact the Moon of the Earth we are all familiar with that got distorted into looking like two moons due to the properties of the sky barrier refracting light Originium was created with….some purpose that is referred to as “unity” and causes “one to experience a higher plane of being”. However, the disease known as “Oripathy” was an unintended side effect of originium We once again get a reference to how there’s something super, ultra, mega dangerous in the depths of the Sea of Terra Astrology and astronomy on Terra have been very stunted fields of study because the sky barrier causes observations of the night sky to be skewed
What? Mate im not even sure we read the same thing unless we the modern human are supposed to be the sarkaz in current arknights im pretty sure terra is just a planet colonized by humans since in the story the aliens aka doctor species, was the ones to introduce the term human
@@augustuslunasol10thapostle I’m sorry if there was confusion, but I’ll try to clear it up here: I wasn’t saying the Sarkaz were the ancient people of the Earth. That is the race the Doctor and Priestess are a part of. And all the humans in the sarcophagi. What I SAID was, and what the game stated, was that the Teekaz/Sarkaz were the first endemic lifeforms on Terra. NOTE: The planet known as “Terra” didn’t get that name until AFTER the calamity happened that wiped out the ancient humans. So what the game is saying is that the ancient humans came first, and lived on Earth until the calamity happened. After that point, the planet previously known as Earth became known as Terra. And the Sarkaz were the first of the humanoid/animal races created by the ancient humans.
Now Im more interested in the next Laterano event. In one part Friston mentioned that someone (another AI, The Law?) turned one part of the sarkaz against the others. Im guessing, bribering them with a secure life full of apple pies and guns to get the repressing job done.
It was definitely a slog to sit through at times, but man was the lore i got worth it. Gonna be honest though, you're helping me a lot since i couldn't sit through the latter half of Kal's interaction with Friston. Went over my head damn near completely.
A side theme in Lone Trail is about Loneliness, Mumu and Doktah both realized their entire race are extinct and thus both found bonding with each other.
Just imagine, imagine if this side story become an anime. Maybe not anime, but a whole live action movie from the start (Main story) and then this, dude.. that would be the peak of CINEMA right there!!
Absolutely insane lore drops covering nearly every aspect of the mysteries in the Arknights universe - the origins/causes of the Doctor, the sarcophagus, the precursor race, the native races and the Sarkaz, Originium, oripathy, wars and conflicts, Terra's astrogeography, space, the single moon, advancements in energy and technology... Interesting tidbit at the end of the satellite arrays around Talos being capable of manipulating geoproperties of Terra... doesn't that sound like the Catastrophes? Who built them and put them there, and are those perhaps responsible for them, and is that why we go to Talos-II in Endfield?
considering that the overarching theme of arknights - oripathy - is a parallel to radiation sickness and what victims of it went through, I wouldn't be surprised to find the source of the catastrophies ended up being man-made superweapons that nearly brought life on terra to extinction
17:30 I think we already know what they're referring to from the Endfield and its closed beta. Basically theres a direct portal to Talos II where the story of endfield takes place, roughly 500 years after Arknights story.
I think the south that they are reffering to are the foehn hotlands a.k.a. the wasteland beyond the Sargonian deserts, since the north is most probably the infy icefields and the 'Door' is probably the portal in IS4 fourth ending as reveald in CN
It all makes sense, we got no news of the Arknights Endfield till like around the Arknights Lone Trail, idk, but maybe, it’s a coincidence idk. But we all definitely know that this event plays a huge role for Endfield
This event was just an insane bombshell of lore all around. There's still lots unsaid, unexplained and lots to be discovered, but at the same time holy hell does it reveal so many things about Terra, Kal'tsit, the Doctor...
Turns out the "barrier" was a literal barrier all along. Also, which part of ST-3 and ST-4 mentions there's only one moon on Terra? I've struggled to properly interpret that bit - is it the scene Ho'olheyak sees before 'recording' Friston?
Well, I mean Terra might respensent terra forming and Doc and his kind just trying find a place to live traveling from 1 word to another. Different race could be genetics engineers to give them a better body to cop with the new world. The orginum might be the item to terra forming the world but went wrong hurting the world and the people. That my 2 cent 😁
Perhaps, Originium may be created by the corpses of its own civilization and its duty is to seed life across the world of Terra. So all races across the world, animals get human DNA and knowledge installed in the animal and uplift humans like sentient beings. This may include the myth races with birth from these as well. Teekaz may be survivors of old civilization who are heavily mutation by the catastrophe and rather trigger further evolution by the Originium. By other races who came after...Might be released by someone who wants new races to populate the Terra. The Sarkaz were defeated by the new races, this war might be triggered by someone in the shadow.
Wait so if there was a barrier that prevented anyone from leaving, then how the seaborns were planning to take off into space after consuming everything on terra? Was the barrier created just to keep them in?
i mean with how fast the seaborne evolves to counter whatever stands against them they probably could fly to space, they will simply try to consume the starpod over and over again until they made it outside of terra and given enough time they will eventually evolve to survive in space as well. the barrier is likely to protect the ancients hibernation facility rather than to contain the seaborne, if what friston told were to be believed then with the exception of sarkaz every life on terra including feranmuts and seaborne are in someway and form connected to originium which comes much later after the ancients goes to hibernate.
There is gonna be some cop out answer, there always is, arknights has an issue of coming up with single-use solutions to every problem in order to be viewed as different
Literally the best story Arknights has ever released imo. One plot hole that I can't get over is that if the stars are always changing and were deemed as nonsense. What the fuck did people use to travel way back in the day. There's no way they could travel the seas or even the land without any guidance
They weren't complete stone age people during that time. There are a lot lost tech that is used and knowledge that is passed down. The current Terra already surpassed the irl tech with stronger materials and better machines. The Aegir is the evidence of that.
Yo thank you so much for this video @QaiserGAMES ! this event has been an absolute ocean of lore that was really hard to navigate so your video like always was super helpful
You know, just listening to the story of this event again and to the music of it is enough to make me excited. The excitement to know the truth, to root for Kristen's success. The final scenes with Kristen are just breathtaking. It's so well made with the visuals, the music and the context that it's really hard not to cry (as a grown up adult). It's like a very good movie with a very touching story. I really like Lone Trail a lot.
When they refer to the "south" being in ruins, i believe it refers to the civilization that once occupied the deserts south of Sargon, and most of modern day sargon. it's rulership wasnt exactly clear, but it seems it was jointly ruled by the Aslan, and the now mostly extinct Nightzmora, however the region was attacked by collapsals, turning the one lush rainforests into the inhospitable desert we see today.
I'd hate to pull the "nanomachines" or "grey goo but crystallized" card here since that's ALWAYS the easy way out of a post-apocalyptic fantasy. Originium is cited to be an energy source, an amplifier of arts (not magic) so in it carries a sort of forward momentum of energy in various forms. Originium behaves like cancer. it sounds like an accelerated growth/evolution with a self-contained source of energy. Perhaps when "Human" civilization ended, originium accelerated the evolution of other forms of life on the planet. Maybe the barrier was a means to contain originium within Terra so it doesn't get wasted into space (since originium can fall from the "sky" as well. It might be a Horizon Zero Dawn type of unintentional thing that was originally meant to accelerate evolution but there was no means to stop it (hence oripathy). Oripathy also turns people into dust after a while which fits in with the acceleration, this time of decay. Just a theory.
Love how in Stultifera navis, an event centered about the sea, the people are yearning for "The Golden Age" dwelling in a past that will never return while here in Lone Trail, centered around space, they are building "A new age" for their future. So their thoughts of the sky and the sea being the same are somewhat true, but in completely different senses
The whole thing happening in terra is basically like the firsciv drawings. The devices, the barrier, the cratures, originium. Its all made by firsciv and responsible for everything
Imagine the Space that we see thru the crack in the Barrier is the ceiling of another Barrier lol. So Friston Soul Bombed the sky with the HAMHRR by sacrificing all his ppl huh? Aside being a shitty attendant, the question is then, if all of Terra's energy supply wasn't enough to power HAMHRR, then how many sarcophagi or how much energy was reserved in the power bank to be able to do that? How advanced was Dokutah's race? Did they come from Talos-II to colonize Terra?
I don't think so. The Anggeloi are endemic to Talos II much like how the Teekaz are endemic to Terra. My guess is that the Anggeloi are pre-evolved Teekaz.
MY THEORY WAS CORRECT THERE WERE HUMANS WITHOUT ANIMALISTIC TRAITS IN TERRA although I guess it's up to Dokutah to continue the original humans bloodline
by endfield lore that door, that portal gate, that huge star gate, standing in Sami north ppl fixed it and connected terra and talos IS4 lore will telling u how we reached the door
there were a couple other reveals... the "moon" might actually be where the people of terra come from. there's also a pretty interesting 'interview with muelseye' (the wet elf waifu) that discusses how there's a originium reaction outside the starpod, and hints that some catastrophes form outside of it, but the crystals that form go right through. as if unimpeded. though I suppose this interview isn't part of the event. it was just tweeted out by the AK peeps. oh and the research notes we unlocked during the event seem to suggest that the stasis chamber was discovered after the events of the story. Nasti's secret bunker was also discovered. so there's solid evidence against the lab that this was pre-meditated by more than just kristen. whether or not that becomes a key plot point, who knows.
I am wondering, the ancient civilization is just Human right? I heard somewhere that the other races came from beyond the void. So I am wondering, did human came from beyond as well? Settled here long time ago until things went to crap? If so... does it also mean that thing with R6 Event meant they really travelled between star or dimension and not just time?
I might not have the time to read this event so the video is very much appreciated. I'm kinda piss that all the ''humans'' in cryo got sacrifice... They could have eventually found a new power source.
They didn't get sacrificed. Friston stated they were to recover after the end of the catastrophies, but by the time Kristen approached him for the energy, it had been so long at that point that he knew the recovery stage of the project was impossible, he also mentioned the condition of the preserved humans were deteriorating as well, so he gave her what energy was left. Essentially, they were already dead at that point. Also, the preserver had no way of getting more energy to continue the project anyway, it emphasized those sarcophagi required a lot of energy.
maybe we're going somewhere with this, We spent two years in the South (Under Tides, Sultifera), now we're in Columbia, maybe we'll start moving up North (Preserver did talk about the monsters of the South we all know about but he also mention a rift in the North )

My favorite part of this event is CW-ST-4's final scene, When Kristen answered Friston's question with another question, "What do they inevitably mean, and what is it, that life ultimately seeks?"
Then story ends, you will be left confused and curious about the answers....
untill the answer is handed right over to you along with the medal,
"The Future."
"The only destined meaning and the ultimate pursuit of life"
Every time when you open the event lobby theres a radio voice in the background that says "The future is upon us" btw

pretty hopeful take on that;
Book of the Fallen series has also an interesting take; in one of the books, a young general is trying to have a conversation with around 50.000 year-old intelligent undead being (the remnant of first human civilization):
- What thoughts dwell in mind of someone who have lived that long? What do you tend to.. think about?
- ... 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮.
- Ah... and what about your brethren? Do they also think about the same... topic?
- No. In fact, most of them prefer not to think at all.
- Why?
- ... because it's futile.
For anyone who hasn't been following the Endfield development, that "Door" is a portal to Talos-II
And for anyone who missed it, during Hoolheyak dream sequence with Friston death, Friston and his daughter (and Hoolheyak) looked straight to Terra up above the sky, seemingly them being on one of the two Talos.

The lore keeps expanding
I always thought endfield would be in a different universe but i keep being proved wrong
More specifically, Arknights Finland contains less Demons than RL Finland, and has a Stargate under Santa's house.
My favorite still is the Valentine's CC. Lowlight giving us tough love.
Along wild ride that i'll enjoy till the very end
Well said. I looked at the event schedule on CN server...now just wait till this Christmas event lol.
And we will be watching it on folded
Lone Trail is honestly peak fiction! It’s amazing how Arknights can take so many different genres of storytelling/themes and make them mesh so well together into one beautiful universe 🙏
And technically the Rainbow Six collab is canon, I believe, which is crazy lol. How many games make their collabs canon?
Well a baldur gates 3 writer heavily praise the story

Coming back after latest CN Event. Lone Trail and Babel by extension truly is peak fucking cinema.
I never thought that a "Side Story" will not only have a big impact to the main story but also have one of the best story I've ever read peak writing over here ladies and gentlemen
That's why it is considered an Intermezzo instead of a Side Story!
Intermezzi tends to be so freaking insane
We only needed one girl sacrificing herself for the future and the very embodiment of The Past (Friston) to meet and this is what we get, God Tier.
Plus, I really love the "A New Age is Upon Us" whenever we click the Event tab
I assume that it is extremely radioactive up there, since that would cause instruments to fail and is indeed ionisation
I wonder what kind of outside threat the people who put up the barrier face at the time.
I read the lore of this event and i seriously could not get over the fact
- Kal'tsit was an AI that has become both spectator and played crucial role in the world of terra for more than 10.000 years right alongside us before & after we entered the Sarcopaghus
- The unfathomable truth that our kin were preserved for a damn thousands of decades and with their life force being converted into an energy to supply the weapon that Kirsten used to breach the skies of Terra, has ironed the fact that we are the last of our previous kin
- The fact that Originium itself is some sort of a evolution concept that was deemed necessary to happen in order for life in terra to evolve & adapt
- Was seriously not expecting that the Teekaz which now we've known more familiarly as the Sarkaz was the true inhabitant of terra and those other races who came after them was the result of the Originium (Did humans and Sarkaz lived alongside before the great catastrophe happens which resulted the Sarkaz to take over the population of terra as the humans goes into full hibernations i'm not sure either)
-The fact that something sus indeed was happening somewhere in the "North" possibly the border where Sami is? and that giant ass portal we see in the IS#4 background teaser really makes me eager to dig in what surprise an twist that awaits in IS#4
I feel like originium having part into shaping the races of Terra might be that it changed ´´animals´´ into humanoid form.
(Makes sense for a stasis/cryopod)
Fun Fact Talos-II also has a portal at its northpole so most likely Arknights portal leads to Endfields Talos-II and Endfields portal leads to another unknown planet.
@@MonoReaper Thank you very much for giving several answers that lingers in my mind
Regarding your statement of Kal'tsit in ". Its not that she is a AI but a artificial lifeform to assist Ancients. Even if her body is destroyed she just "rebirths" herself aka randomly pops up again after her body reconstructs itself." was a simple yet great explanation that i also remembers regarding of her, but then again the process of her "rebirth" for how many times she dies must've costs a lot of energy and there's probably a limit on how much she could "resurrect" herself
your answer towards Teekaz/Sarkaz have corrected me from thinking of something that might be a bit incorrect so thank you for that
Also Talos II has a portal too on their side? i might need to check that later after the archive from several beta testers have finally concluded
@@rayhanqhadafi9688 We dont know if she has a limit or not. Just that apparently the Nachtmar King killed her once before & saw different versions of her.
It kinda insane that we go from finding a cure for disease to fight the goddamn alien.
Were they the one whom made the barrier?
Somehow I want to see an alien as our operator 😄
@@SilveryBlue1010 Well the one that made the barrier was actually the pure human called Forerunners. Technically they are like alien to Teekaz.

Thanks for making the lore easily digestible. Lone Trail easily met all the hype it was getting and is definitely peak Arknights story!
A very extreme example of localization but not too unreasonable when you think about how long ago that was.
this event really was insane it had so much good stuff it had stunning background arts gameplay wise we got one of the most wanted operators and we also have gotten so many important lore drops this event cant wait for either is4 to explain whatever the icefields are really about or even better another big event like this but for that part
one very interesting thing about that door is that surt's notes, where she catalogs her "memories from other people" she talks about a door in the north that cant be opened
"Snowy mountain, a barren snowy mountain, unending snowy mountains.

人 : people, man, person, human being
EN just : Teekaz ?... those odd endemic lifeform?
All this time we think that races in Terra are people with animal features, but for Friston race ( human ) it's actually the other way around
It's a LIFEFORM with HUMAN FEATURES
that's why Friston having the question mark when Kal'tsit said " Teekaz people ".
Friston also referred Kristen as odd lifeform with human shape
It's like in real life we human see Orangutan or Chimpanzee, we don't consider them as human with animal features, but as animal with shape/features like human if that makes sense.

Literally sounds like it’s post-apocalyptic Earth over 13,000 years later
Here is just a SMALL list of what got revealed in this event story:
Terra is the Earth we all know and are familiar with, approx 13,000 years following an unknown apocalyptic event
The doctor and Priestess are humans from this civilization preserved for thousands of years in stasis chambers known as sarcophagi
These stasis chambers apparently can produce an amount of energy unrivaled by any conventional originium furnace or tech that current Terra possesses. And that’s just for ONE sarcophagus
The Doctor and Priestess knew each other in their prior lives and it is implied they were in a relationship, likely romantic
Kaltsit is some kind of android or immortal created being that was created by the people from the ancient Earth civilization
Priestess has some kind of control over Kaltsit and physically “programmed” her to be unable to tell the Doctor about his past or relationship to Priestess.
(Also, presumably the Sankta too because it is stated at one point the Sarkaz and Sankta were once one race)
There is a literal transparent barrier around the entirety of Terra that prevents anything from entering space
There is a giant portal located at the North Pole of Terra. This is the portal that operators use to reach Talos in Arknights Endfield
Something happened in “the south” (presumably the South Pole) that caused Friston to refer to it as “fallen”
Terra does not have 2 moons, it is in fact the Moon of the Earth we are all familiar with that got distorted into looking like two moons due to the properties of the sky barrier refracting light
Originium was created with….some purpose that is referred to as “unity” and causes “one to experience a higher plane of being”. However, the disease known as “Oripathy” was an unintended side effect of originium
We once again get a reference to how there’s something super, ultra, mega dangerous in the depths of the Sea of Terra
Astrology and astronomy on Terra have been very stunted fields of study because the sky barrier causes observations of the night sky to be skewed
What? Mate im not even sure we read the same thing unless we the modern human are supposed to be the sarkaz in current arknights im pretty sure terra is just a planet colonized by humans since in the story the aliens aka doctor species, was the ones to introduce the term human
@@augustuslunasol10thapostle I’m sorry if there was confusion, but I’ll try to clear it up here:
I wasn’t saying the Sarkaz were the ancient people of the Earth.
It's crazy how essential the lore of this side-story is for the whole of arknights, doc and Kals past alone had my jaw on the floor.
The Anggeloi are endemic to Talos II much like how the Teekaz are endemic to Terra. My guess is that the Anggeloi are pre-evolved Teekaz.
what in the jawbreaking reveal that i watched rn. never thought HG had a insane scriptwriter for this game
this what i have been waiting for... story summarized

I think we already know what they're referring to from the Endfield and its closed beta. Basically theres a direct portal to Talos II where the story of endfield takes place, roughly 500 years after Arknights story.
Thank you for creating the Lone Trail.
You truly the lore master of Terra!
Thank you for providing us with the story summary. It's helped a lot to understand what's going on in the event. One new subscriber sir!
I think the south that they are reffering to are the foehn hotlands a.k.a. the wasteland beyond the Sargonian deserts, since the north is most probably the infy icefields and the 'Door' is probably the portal in IS4 fourth ending as reveald in CN
This event was so insanely good that it will honestly be very to go back to normal events or even main story episodes. Just a simple straight 10/10.
Lone trail was 10/10
Perhaps, Originium may be created by the corpses of its own civilization and its duty is to seed life across the world of Terra.
Seaborn are the weakest part of arknights
They ignore every other feranmuts, powers and established lore stuff
Literally the best story Arknights has ever released imo. One plot hole that I can't get over is that if the stars are always changing and were deemed as nonsense. What the fuck did people use to travel way back in the day. There's no way they could travel the seas or even the land without any guidance
They weren't complete stone age people during that time. There are a lot lost tech that is used and knowledge that is passed down. The current Terra already surpassed the irl tech with stronger materials and better machines. The Aegir is the evidence of that.
Irene specifically mentions that the moon and stars are both useless in navigation thus making sea exploration so hard in Sulfera Navis.
A constant flow of "wat....WHAT THE FUK?"
When they refer to the "south" being in ruins, i believe it refers to the civilization that once occupied the deserts south of Sargon, and most of modern day sargon. it's rulership wasnt exactly clear, but it seems it was jointly ruled by the Aslan, and the now mostly extinct Nightzmora, however the region was attacked by collapsals, turning the one lush rainforests into the inhospitable desert we see today.
my man dissappeard when we need him the most
Lonetrail was by far the best event and your video helped me undersatnd it even more! Thank you very much! I look forward to more AK lore
Arknights lore is insane, can't wait for more reveals
I am gonna sit down one day and just read through all of Arknights.
I think there was Trevor Friston name on a grave in Endfield
Thx for the video!
Even watching this video AFTER reading the story I get a big stupid grin on my face for the hype. Thankyou for distilling the important bits!
Cool video so far, thank you for explaining cool lore of AK for those in communty, who can't read a tons of text, but still curious about it
Love how in Stultifera navis, an event centered about the sea, the people are yearning for "The Golden Age" dwelling in a past that will never return while here in Lone Trail, centered around space, they are building "A new age" for their future.
So their thoughts of the sky and the sea being the same are somewhat true, but in completely different senses
The Past between Priestess and Dokutah is taboo to Kal'tsit. I dunno man, sounds like a jealous ex.
Welp, Kristen is a Perro, so her parents are also Perros, no Vulpos :3
Ancient Civilization try to BioEngineer girls with cat ears
end up in Extinction by rocklike all asimilating Nanomachine
by endfield lore
that door, that portal gate, that huge star gate, standing in Sami north
ppl fixed it and connected terra and talos
IS4 lore will telling u how we reached the door
Originium’s goal is unifying everything into a higher form of existence?
Ahhh…
MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD
there were a couple other reveals... the "moon" might actually be where the people of terra come from. there's also a pretty interesting 'interview with muelseye' (the wet elf waifu) that discusses how there's a originium reaction outside the starpod, and hints that some catastrophes form outside of it, but the crystals that form go right through. as if unimpeded. though I suppose this interview isn't part of the event. it was just tweeted out by the AK peeps.
oh and the research notes we unlocked during the event seem to suggest that the stasis chamber was discovered after the events of the story. Nasti's secret bunker was also discovered. so there's solid evidence against the lab that this was pre-meditated by more than just kristen. whether or not that becomes a key plot point, who knows.
Thanks for your work!
Thank you for doing Arknights lore videos!
I'M GOING INSANE OVER THESE LORE REVEALS AND I HAVE BEEN FOR WEEKS.
Yeah, finally I can understand what it was about
Amazing event 10/10 but let's be honest the event if you read with 1x was like 8 hours event amazing how they have so many ideas, that's a w for HG
kristen: MOON'S HAUNTED
tbh this is one of the best story so far. i manage to read it all without getting bored
I was waiting for this lore video
I might not have the time to read this event so the video is very much appreciated.
I'm kinda piss that all the ''humans'' in cryo got sacrifice... They could have eventually found a new power source.
They didn't get sacrificed. Friston stated they were to recover after the end of the catastrophies, but by the time Kristen approached him for the energy, it had been so long at that point that he knew the recovery stage of the project was impossible, he also mentioned the condition of the preserved humans were deteriorating as well, so he gave her what energy was left. Essentially, they were already dead at that point. Also, the preserver had no way of getting more energy to continue the project anyway, it emphasized those sarcophagi required a lot of energy.
i love how there's just a canonical build limit
Finally!!! I WAS WAITING FOR IT LET'S GOOOOOOO
its been a year isnt it since kirsten see the true sky....
maybe we're going somewhere with this, We spent two years in the South (Under Tides, Sultifera), now we're in Columbia, maybe we'll start moving up North
(Preserver did talk about the monsters of the South we all know about but he also mention a rift in the North )
So its age of strife .in WH40k.spacetravels become impossible.and some humans used genetics to adapt to their Isolated planets.Felinids,Ogryns ,and so on
Lone Trail is so good they made Lone Trail 2 (Endfield)
Her parents die... But she's proud about that
Humans confirmed
Wait, isn't it stated that the doc has blue blood?
Wait....
THE DOC IS A HORSESHOE CRAB
@@Tyranid_Hive_MindNo, just that his turned Blue after Kal
Added a different reagent to it tp turn it into an emergency Oripathy Suppressant.
