This is absolutely fantastic...My favorite NWA Member talking about my favorite rap group of alllll time BDP!!!
Yes, Marvin Washington. It was great hearing MC Ren talk about Boogie Down Productions. Two classic artists and a look at some amazing material. Thanks for watching.
F**k yeah! I like to see stuff like this. Artist telling stories of who they listened to, meet, was inspired by, or would like to work with. Good Content here. Ren still holds a Mac-10!!!
Marvin Washington
Facts
Ren knows what's up!!! BDP use to run N.Y. back in the day.
NWA used one of BDP's verses, "it's not about a salary, it's all about reality". Nothing but respect!!!
Indeed, MADNEW YORKER. Thanks for checking out MC Ren on #BestAlbums. We appreciate the support.
ISRAEL MUST BECOME ONE STICK 💜🥷
MC Ren has one of the greatest voices in hip hop history. His voice is up there with Kane's, Cube's, KRS's, Chuck D's, etc.
Agreed, Kory Green. I always wondered why more people didn't appreciate MC Ren more than they did. At least OutKast gave him a shout out on "Aquemini." Thank you for watching #BestAlbums. I appreciate the support.
Soren Baker You're welcome. Great channel. Cee-lo Green quoted him on a song when he used "you don't know me, my record can't tell ya" as a hook. There's a lot of great rappers in groups that never got the props they deserved. Even though MC Ren did some solo work, it wasn't as lauded or popular as his group work with NWA. Shock of the Hour enjoys cult status among a small contingent of fans, though. I remember a lot of internet heads name dropping that album around the late 90s on early hip hop sites.
Kory Green, thank you for the kind words.
Kory Green, most definitely. It's great we were able to get MC Ren for an interview. Thanks for checking out #UniqueAccess.
Don't forget DMC and The D.O.C.
It's good to see Mc's give props to other Mc's. Much respect to Ren. #Legend
Most definitely, Two Cents J. I'm hoping this leads to additional opportunities for me to do programming like this. Thank you for watching. I appreciate it.
Two Cents J, that's one of the reasons we launched #UniqueAccess. Thanks for watching. We'll have more videos this week.
Live and direct Boogie Down Productions is Laarrge!! Krs and rakim were the top 2 MC's in the 80's then you had Kane, Kool G Rap, EPMD, Public Enemy, NWA, Slick Rick & Dougie, the Biz etc.. Damn that was great era in Hip Hop!!
That was a great era, indeed, Nel Gonz. Thanks for watching & supporting #BestAlbums on #UniqueAccess.
Still top 2 krs an rah
Factz
This a dope concept. OG's puttin' us up on what THEY thought of some of the biggest game-changers back in the day. Shit is lit.
Thank you for the kind words, dragorocky. I was having a conversation with Xzibit when I got the idea. I think it's going well. Have you checked out any of the other episodes? If not, please do. If you have, which ones did you like? I appreciate the support.
dragorocky, yes. We're glad #SorenBaker came to us with the idea. We've got a new episode dropping Friday. Thanks for watching.
Mc Ren Shock of the Hour Album is a classic
Jig Mendoza yep
You said it, Jig Mendoza. Thanks for watching #BestAlbums. We appreciate the support.
It's rare to hear Shock of the Hour mention. I'd put it there with Geto Boys self titled LP as 2 of the most hardcore albums ever released.
Kizz My Black Azz was much better though
No doubt! Every song is good on that album. And those beats...🔊💥
Nice to see MC Ren back around....It would be GREAT to hear a NEW MC Ren record!
Ed Joyce, thanks for the kind words and for watching #BestAlbums. MC Ren told us he's working on new material so we hope he drops it soon, too.
Ed Joyce His new record is coming out soon he's said on twitter it's nearly finished, I can't wait 😊
Ed Joyce I'd rather hear what he has to say in the interviews like this something I dont think he did much of back in the day. I always felt like Cube had more of a West coast influence and Ren was influenced more by East coast rappers judging by their delivery . I'm probably dead wrong though lol.
Your right
Soren, I'm 48 years old and man you know you're hip hop. Salute
Freddie B, we're glad #SorenBaker is on the squad. Thanks for watching. We appreciate the support.
Thank you for the kind words, Freddie B. Rap is my favorite thing in the world and I'm blessed to be able to do what I love. I appreciate the support.
Criminal Minded & By any means necessary were my 2 favorite albums in hip hop history! Soren you are definitely needed what you've been doing to keep my favorite era alive is so dope. Thanx
The most underrated MC ever!
Yes, Leroy Jones. Thanks for watching. We appreciate the support.
HE DEFINITELY ONE OF THEM FOR SURE. REN FLOW WAS RIDICULOUS!
I think del is the most underrated, but ren is definitely underrated.
"Yea something like that." MC REN
TRUE INDEED!! I STILL THINK MC REN SHOULD'VE LEFT NWA WITH ICE CUBE, WHEN CUBE TRIED 2 GET HIM 2 LEAVE WIT HIM😕 I THINK REN's CAREER WOULD'VE BEEN A LOT MORE FRUITFUL U KNOW WHAT I MEAN BRUUH"
Ren know Hip-Hop because Ren is Hip-Hop! Always had mad respect for you Ren. Mad repect to.you for giving a shoutout to The Greatest MC Of All Time! I love your verse in Niggaz Always in to something too!
Yes, mrkingssizesnicker. MC Ren is one of the all-time greats. I was glad he agreed to do an interview with me. Thank you for watching and for supporting #UniqueAccess.
That was a great segment, mrkingssizesnicker. We're glad you enjoyed it, too. Thanks for watching.
A WORD FROM OUR SPONSOR! Another (CED-GEE) production plus half of the(CRIMINAL MINDED) album.
REN WAS A BEAST WITH N.W.A. AND SOLO.
Agreed, Stacey Underwood. Thanks for watching.
Yeah man Ced Gee was very instrumental to that album, and was a dope M.C. Himself along with his Ultra Mag co-D Kool Keith.
REN REN REN!!!!!! That's all I got to say! One of the greatest lyricists of all time
Great Mc Ren interview! good to know what a west coast artist though of one of the best NY albums out @ the time
Yes, Wayne. It was great getting MC Ren to talk about the love he has for Boogie Down Productions' "Criminal Minded." We're glad you enjoyed the interview. Thanks for watching.
Wayne Real recognize real at the end of the day. I'm from NY and I rocks with Ren heavy. Very underrated.
THAT ENTIRE ALBUM WAS THE SHIIIIIIT! CLASSIC HIP HOP! Since we weren't from New York, THAT WAS THE INTRODUCTION TO DISS RECORDS IN HIP HOP! ART!!!!!!!
"Let me tell you a story about where we come from........THE SOUTH BRONX, THE SOUTH SOUTH BRONX......49 years old and I can still recite that album line for line 30 years later.
It's definitely a classic, Jimmy 123. Thanks for watching & supporting #BestAlbums on #UniqueAccess.
Myself to I'm 48 and KRS one lyrics still stain my mind today.
Now THIS is something I'm happy to see. 296 Likes and 0 Dislikes. THAT is RESPECT!
We feel the same way, JayTheAdviceGuy. This was a great episode of #BestAlbums & #UniqueAccess. Thanks for watching & supporting.
Dope to see the villain on here. Been a long time coming

Jam Starr, most definitely. There's more on the way with MC Ren, too, so we hope you enjoy it. Thanks for the support.
dope ass MC. REN definitely was my fav member and once Cube left lyrically Ren did his thang on NIGGAZ4life
You said it, Kevinnappybuthappy McCoy. MC Ren was steady & potent. Thanks for watching & supporting #UniqueAccess.
IT JUST PROVES WHAT I ALREADY KNEW............GANGSTA RAP REALLY STARTED WITH CRIMINAL MINDED.........
I"VE BEEN SAYIN" IT FOR YEARS.....BUT......?????
Chocolate Chip ABSOLUTELY DOG...ABSOLUTELY!!!
We'd say gangster rap started with Schoolly D. "Criminal Minded" was one of the first gangster rap albums, though. Thanks for watching, Chocolate Chip. We appreciate the support.
Chocolate Chip Schooly D, Ice T, and Just Ice were ALL before Criminal Minded. Just Ice and Krs lived together in the homeless shelter.
Idk it maybe School D's Saturday Night album
No it didn't
Schooly D was first. Ice T was before BDP
KRS1 is definitely one of the best MCs of all time...he puts on one of the best hip hop performances live..
You said it, GP Love. KRS-One is incredible. Thanks for watching & supporting #BestAlbums & #UniqueAccess.

Soren Baker Where the rest of the interview I know it's more
I was into hip hop before then. But this was an introduction to Hip Hop Music! What I love about KRS-ONE is, unlike all the other mcs when he's battling, he's 10 times as hard and he does it with a smile! ART!!!
Well said, Michael Ellis. Thanks for watching #BestAlbums on #UniqueAccess. We appreciate the support.

Mike Jazz, MC Ren definitely gave a lot of great insight on this one. We're glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching #UniqueAccess.
My favorite BDP album as well. To this day I have album on my wall. I agree with Ren, the reggae influence, AC/DC sample Dope Beat and of course the cover itself. I also had the UK specialty albums Man and His Music with remixes and bonus tracks. Great album, Great interview with Ren who is also a favorite MC of all time. And now a word from our sponsor...
We appreciate that, Brinky Brinkz. It was a great interview, indeed. MC Ren & #SorenBaker each made several great points. Thanks for watching #BestAlbums & #UniqueAccess.
Scott La Rock has a son Scott Jr. and he is starting his own music label and has a radio show. I think it would be good to have MC REN on his show .

Red Alert threw that joint on back when 98.7 was kiss FM and musically my life changed. Big up to BDP, South Bronx stand up, and Big up to M.C. For giving props. Peace!!!!

That's a great track, [ Eye Tunz ] [HD]. "Criminal Minded" has so many incredible cuts. Thanks for watching #BestAlbums & #UniqueAccess.
What about Elementary? Krs one Scott larock
Mc Ren is underrated. Ren got skills but is overlooked by the other three in the group . Since Ren is on the West coast, he appreciate and respects East coast rappers. Some West coast rappers got respect for certain East coast rappers. Now I don't know in 2021. East coast rappers influences West coast rappers. Better yet East coast rappers influenced the West, South, Mid South, New Orleans, etc. New York started it and it just took off from there. Today I don't know what to call it!!!??
