Nice build, the finished model looks beautiful! You used some good materials and chose a great design with the tissue! This plane is a great candidate for an RC conversion, which is what I would do with such a kit. I would recommend converting it to run with a small 3 or 4 channel receiver (preferably a 4 channel receiver) and to run with a small brushless motor, as this plane has the potential to fly very well, and you could have great enjoyment flying such an aircraft. Happy Flying! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨✈️
I keep coming back to the build of this D-8. I have to say that I really like the color scheme that you put together:) It's striking and very pleasing to the eye!
@@me262a1 Just wondering if you had to add a lot of nose weight? Also, did you have to cut a lot of extra material out of the formers to reduce weight or did you build it pretty much stock? If you added weight to the nose, any idea how much? Asking, because I will likely start this build before too long:)
@@barryharrison1750 Mine took several grams in the nose. The flying weight is 38 grams. I used all kit wood except for the landing gear struts. I used basswood for those. They kept breaking. I sanded the sheets thinner and removed as much as I dared from the fuselage formers. Everywhere I thought I could lighten her I did. I didn't use the plastic wheels in the kit but balsa ones I made up. It's really the luck of the draw with the wood Guillows kits contain but the are fun and easy to build and the high wingers fly pretty good. Good luck with your build and maybe post a video or two.

Thanks. This was a fun build, my first "Parasol" wing plane.
I've got one of these in the stash. Yours looks fantastic.
Thanks. It was a really fun build and it flew great. Well, great for my builds. LOL
One of my all-time favorite planes. Great job on construction and covering - love your color choices👍
Thanks, a lot of firsts for me on this build. Esaki makes covering easier.
@@martinlagrange8821 thanks so much👍

Thanks! It's a mashup of styles I saw on actual WWI planes. I just tried to make it not so garish as some I've seen. LOL

Nice finish and details. It would be great to see her fly!

excellent work
Thanks. it was a fun build.
Excellent
Great build. Did you swap out any parts? Was building the model a challenge in any way?
Beautiful Flying Razor. How did you attach the thin black strips to the horizontal stabilizer? Really neat job.
It's actually some dollar store striped tissue I found. It worked a lot better than I expected.
