    It sounds like the same kid in different lectures asking questions. Its kind of funny for me listening at the end and hearing that same voice or kid. Could be a repeat visitor. Good for the kids to ask questions too.

    SPIN!
    How about the mSec and sub mSec black widow neutron stars are forcing the inner crust and core towards the surface. Allowing a super massive neutron star to exist without achieving the super critical mass to collapse to a singularity?

    What are the surface speeds of these pulsars? The Earth takes one day to spin a full circle and its tiny. If you could stand on the surface of one of these pulsars the galaxy would be but a blur.

      If you could sit on the equator fastest millisecond pulsars, you would be whipping around at about 20% the speed of light.

      Some spin so rapidly the surface is moving at 20 percent of the speed of light. The escape velocity of a neutron star at the surface however is something on the order of 60 or 70 percent of the speed of light. Therefore these super fast spinning neutron stars do not fly apart.

    are we sure it is the gravity preventing light from "escaping" or is there some other mechanism preventing us from seeing the "light" near such a gravitational event? is the lack of light a byproduct? and if so, can we conclude that some interaction between black holes and "?" is merely stopping the light(photons) from being seen or should we assume that our eyes never lie to us? this is important because common physics teaches that the fastest thing in the universe is light..,
    however, these black holes are powerful enough to overcome the light and even entrap it. but some black hole models show particles escaping a black hole. so someone screwed up somewhere in their calculations i think! :P

    • @TheSquidly1
      @TheSquidly1 9 років тому

      but particles are escaping the black hole.., isnt a black hole supposed to be unescapable?

      +ann nonomous We have other phenomena pinpointing even stronger to the correlation and attraction of energy in the form of e/m waves from gravity forces. Gravitational lensing being one of the simplest examples, which is the phenomenon where a massive object(usually stars or even galaxies) curves the path of light. Also, some of the most "philosophical" studies on physics, like conjectures concerning the grand unified theory, general relativity and quantum field theory, predict a close relation and unification of the so exotic gravity force with the other, more similar, forces, under circumstances of extreme condense of space and maybe even time.

      And that is really good, as long as the kid is interested in the subject. If not, please take them to Britney Spears. It is the kids interest steering the upbringing, not the desires of the parents. Many parents make that mistake, spoiling and frustrating another human life possibly forever.

      It's called "education" - and while I'm aware that some kids are probably bored by astronomy, those are also probably the kids who could benefit most from it. A little science never hurt anyone. (In reality, most kids are at least moderately interested in outer space at some point. *This* lecture might be a bit deep for some, but many of them are fascinating for any age.)
      Additionally, given that the kid in question here is asking questions, I *very* seriously doubt he or she is "bored stiff" by astronomy.

    Extremely annoying editing wrt the slide content. Showing most slides with technical information for no more than 6-8 secs (typ.) is annoying & very stupid.
    This is a technical lecture, not kiddy story hour. Show the SLIDES, not the speaker.
    The point of the lecture is to CONVEY INFORMATION. The speaker's AUDIO contains info. The SLIDES contain info. The speaker's IMAGE conveys NO SIGNIFICANT INFO, yet most of the video content is wasted on these entirely meaningless images of the speaker at a podium.
    Fire the editor.

    in year 2013 at the peak of my insanity (that is how humans call my state of total utopia obduction) on the night sky with naked eyes i saw one star splitting in two that were quantum entangled and carry their so pure dance. the length of quantum entanglement path is no more than the length of two arms of a man in form of a hug (elliptically connected arm of one man hugging his beloved wife when she's absent) with the strait line along the chest where the hart is placed. words alone are not enough to describe this.

    Next time we voyage out to new horizons we could maybe try interferometerising with our distant asset?
    If someone needs to set it up at the far end then even better.

    no uhms, ers, coughs or or er or or or repetitive filling, other ticks or irritating 'get back to that later's - an American astrophysics lecturer you can actually listen to without thinking about training collars🙊🐩. started listening to one lecture last night and let me put it this way: if he had been reading out next week's lotto numbers I would have settled for match-3 rather than have to listen to him er his way through them all. probably be last week's numbers by the time he got there anyway......

    Did he just pronounce the word "sphere" like "spear"??? Who out there are letting these people pass with these educational basics miscomprehended? I know we have heard a lot of bad things said about the education system over the past few decades, but this degree of effort lacking is just inexcuseable!

    • @TheEvilmooseofdoom
      @TheEvilmooseofdoom 6 років тому +2

      No.. It's just that people who are intelligent understand getting facts correct is more important than any slips of the tongue or goofs people make when public speaking. You misunderstand the meaning of miscomprehend as well. This isn't a lack of effort but more you being critical of the minutiae rather than the content over all. It's a simpletons way of thinking when out of a hour of material your can find fault only with the way you THINK he may have said a single word. That is inexcusable. You shame yourself.
