This theme song is definitely a masterpiece! Love the show and the game.
This crossover from epic serenity strings to dubstep-ish electronic cuts would one day be considered classical.

clit_niblr036 I don't believe that's true, but you're entitled to your opinion anyway.
clit_niblr036 Some say the show got cancelled because the show almost randomly killed off its characters in Season 3, and because Season 3 gave the game no opportunities for crossovers, which is why the show and game exist in the first place, they have parallel stories, but some characters from the game and show can cross over from the game to the show and vice versa.
clit_niblr036 I agree. In fact, I have this hunch that the producers of the show knew the show would get cancelled eventually, which is why they started randomly killing off characters even if it adds nothing to the character development to those who survive.
I had read the ratings started dropping after the first two episodes. My husband said the story was like too much of a soap opera.

This music is tricky... slow tempo builds to a climax then in lulls you back into a valley and then does it all over again..... Its better than the show itself.

End of an Era. 2013 - 2021 Honestly, they could have sold it off to ANYONE for any amount, to get a few servers up and keep the game running...
Or better yet, Convert it to a stand alone game, like Skyrim, but with user Lan Party ability - User set up servers to host the maps.
And let the players download their characters and stuffs as a save file... I will NEVER spend another penny on MMORPGs, just to have it all erased ?

Day after Day, Month after Month, and year by year... A lot of music is released for videogames, all with electronic samples and stuff. It usually gets generic...
But not Bear McCreary, he ALWAYS makes sure that the main theme comes out as memorable as possible, and distinct from others. Seriously, I write for the music site SEMO, and can say, I rarely hear themes like these nowadays.

!!!! A fellow Stargate fan. :D I grew up with SG-1 from the age of 12 - it was my Star Trek. I have hopes for Defiance too, it reminds me of Firefly and Farscape.
The game is live. (i'm gonna be playing it as soon as i can scrape the money together) The show goes live in two weeks! This is setting up to be epic. I can only hope NBC doesnt do something stupid.

Agreed, Defiance has been a pretty decent attempt at a Massively Multiplayer Online Third Person Shooter and makes me feel like the spirit of Tabula Rasa still lives on, with the shot being this high entry but big payoff sci-fi/western genre hybrid with great actors and sci-fi themes that don't push too much at the viewer but have the themes they want to see and lingo they wanna hear.
Fucking love the soundtrack, OUT WITH IT; want it now..

Epic tune is all I can say , was an awesome show also . Glad I heard this tune 20 times before I died its so dam good . I recon its the best electronic music tune of all time . Next to sandstorm remix then deadmau5 because hes the best dj in the world hands down . So much emotion in the song which makes it amazing , without saying a word I might add .
