- The street just before the “Minorista” is known as “El Prado”. Many expats call this the “Bronx of Medellin!” The area did seem rather rough but I live to tell the tail so I’m either lucky or it’s not as bad as people say.
In my opinion, the Minorista was far better than the Mayorista. The density of the Minorista makes it feel much like a flee market! The Mayorista is much more commercialized.

I loved going to the Minorista. I would highly recommend going with at least one other person though, for safety reasons. Most locals will tell you it’s a very dangerous place.

@@gunghogringoI know man I know it’s the good ol travel department holding this up making me wonder where my expedited passport is but realistically I need the extra month Spanish anyways and to finish an appt I need to be at in person at the end of September and I’m there like 2 months!
