@haileysheets Good question! I don't usually add any lotion or oil to my hands before I work the face. Usually, people's skin has enough oil on it in the face to do massage without. However, if you want a lot of glide, I would add a small amount of lotion to your hands (not oil), but be sure to keep both away from the eyes. Some people will dry skin with definitely need the lotion for the face massage, though.

What is your opinion on using oil or lotion on the face during the massage? I've heard some massage therapists say to use an oil or lotion, but then others say that you don't need anything due to the natural oils in the skin.

BonjourBlooms I’m an esthetician and I use either oil or oil free massage lotion(depending on their skin type). It helps my hands to glide easier on the face so the movements don’t feel inconsistent and choppy.

How do you deal with the stubble of the beard? Is it uncomfortable for you/ him?? If there is moderate facial hair how can you proceed? Bet he wants this every week now.....wouldn't blame him.........LOL!
