There's a difference between alto and bass. She's an Alto, Kaedi is a bass. She's been put into a acapella group and probably had lots o vocal lessons in her life, she's definitely more qualified to say what type of voice she has than you.
I agree she is a mezzo soprano with great range. But in the group she mostly sings the contralto parts. Even covering for Kaedi when she is taking the lead.
