🥁 Bezirksmusikfest in Nassereith, Tirol 2019

Am 13. und 14. Juli 2019, veranstaltete die Musikkapelle Nassereith das traditionelle Bezirksmusikfest des Musikbezirkes Imst. 🎶 Eindrucksvoll gestaltete sich der Festumzug mit Defilierung, welcher von unzähligen musikbegeisterten Zuschauer/innen bestaunt wurde.

I wish the bands and their songs were mentioned in the closed captions. As an American, I don't know the flags or the meanings of the costumes. I do most enjoy the music, the scenery and the sense of local pride displayed... even if I don't quite understand the nuances!

The flags are normally the flag of the village/region. The costumes are traditional costumes. Every village has its own variation.

As an Austrian, I am of course glad that an American is enjoying our traditions.
You can see the names of the bands in the video itself - first one at 0:22 - on the wooden plates that are carried by children in front of their band. In this case, for example, at 0:22 its "Musikkapelle Imsterberg" (aka: music chapel of Imsterberg).

I enjoy these immensely! But there is still much that I don't understand... Why do some groups have flags and others don't? If there are banners attached to the flag, does that mean they have won some awards? Who is on the dais? Some bands seem to pay the people on the dais more respect than other bands do. Is there meaning to this or am I just over-analyzing? Thank you, for your replies, I really am trying to understand!

The flag symbolize the village but not everyone values it. So that means some of the bands have flags and some don't, it has a historical reason. The banners on the flag represent different festivals. For example every occasion has its different banner, for the festival like in the video or if someone important in the band dies than it would be a black banner. On the dais are standing important people from politics or the music district. But there is no reason why some bands are paying more attention to the people on the dais.
