The Mexican Restaurant Hidden in a Barn on a Rural New York Farm | Word of Mouth
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 вер 2024
- Greenane Farms is a small family farm in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York and it’s the type of place that you would never know existed unless someone gave you a heads up.
Patrick and Thanya Rider’s farm raises chicken, pig, cow, goats, sheep, quail, and other livestock. They serve their fresh meats at the farm’s restaurant, which specializes in traditional Mexican food. From carne asada tacos, to Cornish hen mole, to chicken enchiladas, the family restaurant is focused on bringing authentic Mexican flavors to the tiny community of Meredith, New York.
Patrick and Thanya’s story is unique; Thanya comes from Mexico City, while Patrick comes from the rural Catskills. Though their cultures differ, Patrick and Thanya (and much of her extended family) have made a peaceful home for their family, as well as a vibrant community restaurant, at Greenane Farms.

Not only does this food look amazing but he’s an ethical farmer. That meat must taste amazing.
Lizabeth90 right I got hungry watching 🤤
Just looking at that steak made me fall in love.
My kind of meat. Fresh off the farm!
BLAH BLAH BLAH I don't give two fucks if its ethical or not just as long as it taste good, and TBH some of the best steak i've had is from animals who were given steriods and antibiotics.

Pendejo what do you think the poor in the moutains communitys eat (where most of the illegals in america come from) you think they have a wal mart in the middle of nowhere you think there eating cheetos when they can barely afford to eat meat.
My son drove me there for my birthday, it took us 3 hours and 20 minutes to get there from the Bronx. I really enjoyed the meal. We all had different dishes. I had the volcano beef dish ( El volcan de res). It was amazing. Anybody coming here, need to try the volcano beef dish or volcano vegetarian dish. I promise you, it will be very popular for tourism. It was bubbling for a long time while I was eating it. The meat was tasty, the guacamole was fresh. If you don't eat meat, they do have a vegetarian dish. I also had flan for dessert. I am planning to go back again and stay in a hotel nearby, before they close again. Call or reserve online before you go, make sure you have two drivers in your group, one to drive there , one to return home, you will not be disappointed.

Growing up as a first generation Mexican American, my mom struggling to speak English and my dad just passable, I know the feeling. They'd be hesitant at first, but loved it after. All their kids grew up with us and we all rubbed off on one another. I still remember my mom sending me over with extra dishes she'd prepare so that the neighbors could have some too.
None of us passed judgement on each other. We learned and bonded despite our differences. To me, thats what America is.

Two sides to the coin. There are many good people but also criminals, cartels, gangs, people claiming they want to “reclaim aztlan,” tear down statues of founding fathers or columbus etc. There is a reason Mexico strictly controls its southern border from central and South Americans.
