- Romic-Tonj East. Where you see people spin around is not a mere running but dancing. It's a popular dance mostly by Warrap State communities. This dance is called 'Macop' in Dinka or Jieng. It's a very healthy South Sudan African traditional dance that's in nature a good exercise for the participants.
The term Romic in Dinka means meeting point. It's a town that's unifying has it brought communities together under one umbrella as an administrative Centre. It's the Headquarter of Tonj East County of South Sudan's Warrap State, situated in Luanyjang area.
Simon Makur has been one of the champions of culture promotion in Bahr el Ghazal region due to Macop dance invention, the beats and everything about the audio is the full definition of what 'macop' dance is. Another word for machop is jambas.
