And then I saw this video and saw your inkling in another video, that's when I remembered everything! I love all of your animations so don't give up!
The story this is based on was an actual event that happened in World War 1. When two soldiers, one German and one British, met in the middle of no man's land and wished each other a merry Chistmas. The following day, when the fighting resumed, they where both killed. A statue in a French town near where this happened stands to commemorate that event.
I’m so glad that the enemy Octolings switched from goggles to shades. It allows you to see their eyebrows, and you can easily tell what mood they’re in.
December 24, 1914. 5 months after the start of WW1 and the murder of the Grand Archduke and his wife. The allied forces of the UK, Russia, and France and the axis of Germany and Austria-Hungary(after the war ended, Austria-Hungary split to the countries of Austria and Hungary) came together. during this time men walked to the No-mans land where it was the most dangerous during trench warfare. And exchanged gifts with one another, played sports or just soccer, had great time and talked to one another. After it ended, the countries of the world made sure that this would not happen again for this is war and people can’t be making friends with the enemy. The world is a terrible place and bad things happen all of the time. But just this once, let’s have some fun with some new friends.

It was based of the entire truce of 1914. But the one in this video lasted longer
