Thanks for that vid!!!. 08 Rmz 250 (kiehin fcr carb same setup) Exactly what I needed to see, and a few helpful tips I would have not done such as the grease.
I just got a kx250f.. took a risk on a kid that had it with top end paper work but she wasn’t running. He had recent video of it running and it still had good compression and such. He says it wouldn’t get started for him recently.. It was real cold and he blames the non starting on that. Got it home to bump it and it took off like a rocket. Scared the piss outta me bc I thought it wouldn’t run and he bulshitted me. I was wrong. But anyway.. Strong machine, but would only run on full choke like he says in the video. Got a replacement coming bc they were stripped like this. but I’m curious if I should continue tearing into it? Or if that could be my 100% culprit.

My plunger is really seized in there, tried using a heat gun on it but no luck. What would you recommend I do? Thinking about drilling the piece out but will require a lot of precision it seems.
Wondering if this is the same for kickstart quads? I have a Honda TRX450R kickstart and it was having a hell ova time running. Spitting, backfiring, and died off a cold start.
Got a new carb but the spring on the plunger was being a pain to get on so I cut a little bit of it off and my bike is really hard to start and won’t idle do you think that could be the problem?
@@3sixtynorth thanks for the reply I was recently given a 05 Yz450f because it needed the lower end rebuilt but for some reason they put a spring under the hot start plunger which was holding it open all the time. Got it figured out and the bike fired up tonight so all is good.
Good guide/video. However, it should say in the description that it is a Keihin carb and not mikuni. Should be a Keihin FCR carb that almost all MX bikes used in 2000s and 2010s
hello i have a 2003 yz250f and i bought a carb from amazon and it came with the thing but with the old carb i had it had a manual pull above hot start. how do i go about this
Just bought a 2007 KX450f an I didn’t realize the hot start bolt was stripped out an broken. But my main concern is I don’t see the plunger on the end of the cable! I’m hoping it fell off but I think it’s stuck in the carb. Any advice or tips on how I should go abt getting it out? (The bike runs great starts first-third kick every time) the bike does pop an backfire.
My 09 kx 250f bogs in first gear only and will idle high unless under acceleration, Cleaned the jets/ the whole carb adjusted everything and nothing changed so put it back to Oem spec and it’s still the same, The threads have stripped on that plastic bit so could that be the reason?
super late reply but Same bike here. Yeah if you don’t have the hot start in, it’ll suck in WAY to much air and then your air/fuel ratio is too far out of line
Great video with simple to follow instructions without any unnecessary fluff added. Nice!
Not sure why you got some negative reviews on this video. Steps were very clear & simple and well edited. Nicely done!
Probably that FUCKING so called music.

Just what I needed. Having hesitation on low speed accel, sure enough the hot start nut is stripped. Changing it out tonight. Thanks!

Can you just pull the hotstart out as I don't need it because I have a electric start? With what should I close the hole up?
Thanks for the video really help with my hot start cable replacement. 👍🏻
Mine seized bunch of gunck on the hot start my wire wount even pull in from the top any recombinations
Would you be able to 'fix' those threads?

If you didn’t already figure it out, try soaking it with PB blaster a few times.. should penetrate the rust

The o-ring that comes with it is for the plunger or for the billet ?
Got a new carb but the spring on the plunger was being a pain to get on so I cut a little bit of it off and my bike is really hard to start and won’t idle do you think that could be the problem?
Is there supposed to be a spring underneath the plunger inside the carb or just the spring on the cable?
Just the cable

Sounds like you need the cable to run it to your handlebars
Thanks for the video helped me with everything I needed to know
What type of grease?

it could definitely be the issue. It's a cheap part to eliminate from your troubleshooting.
My bike pops really loud and rarely starts and won't idle and I don't have this part, it's a 2008 kx250f is this cause of this part breaking?
super late reply but Same bike here. Yeah if you don’t have the hot start in, it’ll suck in WAY to much air and then your air/fuel ratio is too far out of line
My kawasaki 250f 2008 does not start when it is warm can it be this problem
Hi. It's hard to say 100% that this is your issue but it should be the first thing to check and change.
Start the bike at the end of the video next time please. To show the difference..
Tiny little rat talons! LOL
You didn't start the bike up to show the difference
Thank godddddddd i have the saaaame shit
Edit thank you thanks thanks thanks
The video for the vid bro
Could do without the loud ass music.
Great video, but skip the fucked music.
