the machine produce in China ,working frequency about 30-80KHz,but the still bar seems like diameter>30mm, it is not suitable for such a higher frequency to heat this bar,
I have the same unit and compared to using a propane forge it's more then adequate. It would take ten times longer to heat that size of bar in a propane forge. And once the steel is hot it re-heats even faster. I use mine mostly for knives and it's perfect for heat treating since the edge reaches critical temp last so you don't burn it waiting for the thicker areas to reach CT. The higher density heats first.
I also have the same unit and by the time I bought the unit, the cooler, electrical and plumbing it was about $4200. And they are not "plug and play". You do need to plumb it to a cooler and wire up a 220 vt power cord. This unit is a 15kw but the dealer I got mine from also sells a 45kw unit. I didn't even bother to ask how much those were. If your shop is not heated and you're in a climate that it freezes you also have to use antifreeze in the cooler. But it's an amazing unit and I have no regrets buying it. Each time I use it I'm amazed. Magic is cool but physics is cooler.
How much power does that induction heater actually use to heat the metal?
we are making inductors but a lot bigger inductors :D
@yoshibomber Actually that's about the same speed as a good quality propane forge :D
Mitchel Jacobsen none of the noise .
no likes, no dislikes :D i guess i choose....like!
It's getting hotter even here in front of my PC!
this is lightweight heat, look up acme steel...
What volts amps and frequency are you using?
Amazing that the copper coils don't turn dark ! Does this machine use a lot of power ?

Where did you buy it or how do you make it
What kind of Induction machine do you use?....and where can I buy one?!!!..... [$Price = ~?]...

+guloguloguy I also have the same type. vivian@zzlipai.cn
what is the frequency ?
220 / 50 amp dedicated circuit
that heats slow o.o
