Avatar: The Last Airbender - Anime Opening 3 (Book 3) | "Sakura Mitsutsuki" (Gintama OP 13)

- And like that, the Avatar the Last Airbender OPs are complete. I originally was going to split this up into 2, and then into 3 OPs, but I had to stop myself and it made no sense. I couldn't think of a song to use, but I had always wanted to try using this OP as a song, and it looks like the timing was right. I had to extend it to really get the flow that I wanted, but I think it came out great! Hope you all enjoy, and be and the lookout for the Korra OPs up next!
- Фільми й анімація
With this OP I really wanted to focus on the heart of the particular season. I felt that I almost got off track a bit with the second OP for Book 2 and used a lot of Sakuga and made it more of what I like to call a “hype OP” which there’s nothing wrong with, but it’s not typically my style. I had to really look back at what made Book 3 great and rewatch the season. Which is why it took me two days to finish this.
This song has been something I wanted to use for a while and it just felt right while editing and I couldn’t stop until it was finished, unlike others when I’ll take probably a break or so before it’s done. I really love this series a LOT so I wanted to make sure that I got it down right for this particular OP and I hope you all enjoy it!
So good⸜( ´ᐞ` )⸝!!
Can you please made game of throne anime op dedicate to daenerys with fire emblem three houses op?
I actually thought you did well capturing the main theme of S2 which was Aang trying to attain the avatar state. that said, I definitely feel more with this opening. well done
This was amazing
You did a good job man, they can't all be winners.
Man that end when Aang aims the lightning at him and just the hesitation in his eyes before the cut. THAT WAS FIRE EDITING
What do you mean? The whole opening is a BLAST!
Edit: emphasis to blast
@Internet Gamer I was trying to make a joke too but i guess i have weak humor. *cries to bed*
More like, Lightining Editing.
How electrifying.
I love the zuko and aang dance part on the opening oh and ozai and Iroh fire scene epic!!
If I saw these openings for every new episode of Avatar as a kid then I’d just pass out every time due to sheer excitement
Same
Foaming mouth guy

Bro as a kid I'd be foaming at the mouth

0:21 bro that transition is lit

Yes
Literally too good, like a real anime
Ik but did you see 1:24
Avatar is one of those things that you always know is good, but occasionally you are reminded that its REALLY good.
Wish we can say the same for Korra but, you know......you win some you lose some.
Neuro Korra is good wdym?
Liluqjajaj Grrr that’s what you think. But for me, I just don’t like it.
absolutely agree
@@neuro1073 honestly korra is pretty good, korra in my opinion, is more relatable than aang. she's a teenager excited to be the avatar. Which i get, that's probably the most exciting thing you could ever hear. I think the show's relatability and change in character development really makes it good.
How you were able to catch the essence of this season without giving away too much plot is incredible. Well done.
Thank you! It comes from literally studying this series and knowing it inside and out, to also just practice at making these and studying OP formats
@@ForeverRed3000 You nailed it. Props to you!
🍔
Holy cow I was just about to say this
🙏🏽
That match cut of Aang and Zuko with their heads in their hands, nice
AND THEN THE ONE OF IROH AND OZAI BREATHING IN THE COMET
That was really good I agree💯
Ikr
The ozai and iroh ine was phenomenal
Ozzie breaths in. Iroh breaths out. Feels symbolic.
Remember fire bending comes from the breathe.
I really loved the interaction and symbolism of Azula tying her top knot and Zuko undoing his. It really frames how they view this moment in their lives.
YESSS
She is giving in to all the crazy and psychopathic shit while Zuko finally lets off in order to find his true destiny
And the interactions between Iroh and Ozai too!! Man, fire nation sure has many family issues..
The act of binding/unbinding hair as a parallel for binding/unbinding the self.
alexis hayashi Azula is trying so bad to be that perfect princess in her father’s eyes but she fails because she’s not letting herself and her true feelings be, while Zuko understands his destiny and identity and he’s done trying to be the perfect fire nation prince for Ozai
Let's be honest. 1:50 was pretty hype.
Literal chills!
@@lewa3910 I second that
Lets be honest. The whole thing was hype.
Avatar was the 2nd show I ever watched, the only reason I remember the first show is because It wasn't avatar for some reason
Let's be honest. This entire thing was pretty hype.
This Just Makes me Want to Watch The Avatar Series All Over Again.
JacenX Eldridge same here. I’m glad it’s coming back to netflix
Same
@@awesomepossum2598 wait it's gonna be on netflix again?
Michael Bailey yep. It’s coming back May 15th cause of the new live action series.
What doesn't?
I love the parallels drawn between Zuko's rise and Azula's fall here: transitioning from Azula right after she cuts her hair to Zuko right as he removes his royal topknot to go join Team Avatar and again from Zuko performing the Dancing Dragon, a moment of triumph and self-actualization, to Azula smashing the mirror as she spirals into a mental breakdown. Every time Zuko appears, he is more at peace and more self-actualized, whereas Azula looks worse in every appearance (even though the bulk of the Azula clips were drawn from the same scene). Also, the way you captured Aang's internal conflict as he comes down to the final confrontation was really good too, and the parallels drawn between Zuko and Aang as both struggle between the weight of their duties and their own personal sense of morality (cutting from Aang burying his face in his hands as the previous Avatars tell him that duty demands he give up his pacifism to Zuko in the same posture as he fights between what in his heart he knows to be right and what he has been taught are his responsibilities as a prince of the Fire Nation).
I was very intentional in the footage for Azula being all one scene (aside from her fight with Zuko). Originally I had more of her fights from Book 3 from Day of the Black Sun and Boiling Rock, but it didn’t feel right. So that’s where I decided to hit more with the characters journeys and individual stories - also when Azula smashes the mirror with the image of her mother and it flashes to Katara’s flashback about her mother was intentional as well I don’t think people caught on lol
@@ForeverRed3000 oh, I didn't catch that one
@@ForeverRed3000 Those are indeed fantastic parallels, great editing! :D
I know damn well if Avatar was an actual anime, Aang's fight with Fire Lord Ozai would've lasted 100 episodes and 75% of those episodes would be fillers and them having a conversation about their lives or have random flashbacks of their childhoods or some shit.
A dog named Doug LMAO
plain facts.
Well it comes to author to do that.
I would actually enjoy that shit tho
The final battle uncut is 8 minutes, so it's more like 200 episodes.
I noticed a running theme in this opening is lightning. Like this season is as exhilarating as lightning and if you blink, you can miss something incredible
1:24 that transition of Katara to her younger self is FIRE!
I thought it was water
Dude at 1:05, as Ozai shoots the lightning at zuko the singer holds the note, and as zuko holds the lightning, the singer holds the note, as soon as zuko fires he drops the note Its SYNCED SO WELL I cant even
Props to you dude
escape
escape
escape the matrix
@@quork565 lmao wtf
At 1:44, You have Azula, ready to use a weapon that previously killed aang, followed by a reaction shot of Katara who then has a flashback to that moment when Aang got shot, which is THEN connected to Aang seeing al his past life’s while about to use the weapon that once killed him to kill someone else! And you cut on him hesitating! Cutting away his final decision and leaving it ambiguous! Just like a real anime op! Just perfect!
YESS
My braincell's processing this:
I can proccess it, but it's 3am and im half awake!
damn
that transition from aang covering his face to zuko in the same pose was *[chef's kiss]* mwah!
Opening 1 : Best
Opening 2 : Best
Opening 3 : Best
Book 1 : Introduction and lot of funny
Book 2 : The story become more complex and funny
Book 3 : Everything getting more serious but still had some funny
Just like the progression of Gintama, I think that's why he use this song ^^
in short:
*funny*
Book two was rough
This series achieved comedy
Like Steven Universe, funny then complex and funny
No one talking about how 1:20 fits so well😤
No ones talking about 1:41 either
He blocks right on the offbeat and it’s so goood
1:19 go back 1 second
This deals with: 0:20 Aang's struggle between his believes and the world, Zuko's inside most turmoil with himsef,
0:54 Sokka's self-identity crisis,
1:20 Azula's inside most turmoil with her mother,
1:23 Katara's mother -avenge crisis.
and the last part the has hesitation was so much, you tackled and identified so much about he series. congrats, you win.
Sorry for bad english.
And what i ment by Zuko's turmoil is his honor and his own destiny.

0:58 is when it gets REAL good 🔥🔥🔥
That explosion was timed wayyy too well🔥🔥
I had chills throughout my whole body from that point forward
nah it gets good from 0:00 to 2:05
that Tai Lee vs Suki fight scene was perfect (actually, everything was perfect) ^_^
You know it good when you cant finish it without rewinding a bunch of times.
1:45 I know y’all felt that
0:21 and 1:32
Those transitions just gave me chills.
What about 1:24tho
Openings like this were all that were missing 😭😭
It’s a tradition to watch this every month
I WANNA TALK ABOUT THAT LITTLE PART AT 0:21 transitions from Aang holding his head to Zuko holding his head is EXACTLY what a thoughtful Opening looks like in anime
The way the vocals go crazy as Zuko redirects the Fire lord’s lighting and then the same lyrics when he’s about to redirects Azula’s sooooo good lmao
this was absolutely stunning, Book 3 is such a work of art and you've captured that to a T
1:24-1:26 in particular, the Katara edit omfg
Why are all these openings of yours making me so hype to a show that I've already watched years ago?!
Because ITS THAT GOOD
I love how you opened with Aang arguing with the other avatars as to what to do with the Fire Lord, as that was the real internal conflict of the season: Aang's conscious.
Am I the only one who listens to this like once a day?
I listen to this multiple times a day
Nah I do too
@@NeoBeingNeo same
1:45 did you realized That After Katara Seeing azula Lighting with fear the next scene is aang When He Got the Lighting, It's So Cool For Me!!
Same!!
I have rewatched this video many times and didn’t even see the Aang scene until you’re comment, and it made it that much more better
Gintama AND Avatar:TLA? Truly a man of culture indeed
And they say ATLA isn’t anime.🤨
It isn't but I wish it was😂
Anime is basically short for Animation though, you get my point
@@axonfox yeah you're right. I know it's not technically anime in the traditional sense but personally I do consider ATLA anime.Just because of the art-style and how much substance they gave the show. And while even though anime is literally just the Japanese term for animation, I don't go crazy and just say "all cartoons are anime". But personally I don't have an issue putting ATLA in that category.
I don't consider it anime because Anime is a term for Japanese productions created with the Japanese as the target audience.
But I still love the series though.
An animated series can still be enjoyed without it being an anime.
@@dpage446 very true
You can try to watch and hear Avatar The Last Airbender on Japanese .😅
0:22 that expert cut tho
The beat at 1:06 when Zuko managed to counter the lightning fits perfectly
So hype
The transition between Aang and Zuko holding their temples is beautiful
I like that at 1:50 you hint really hard at Aang's "God Mode" during his fight with Ozai. I love it.
If avatar actually had these openings I’d be so hyper as a kid
God I love Zuko's expression at 1:36
It feels like sorrow over his past actions, but he also found his way
the part where his voice is super emotional when katara is about send the ice at yon rha and when the drums get faster while the line of avatars is aligned again made me go crazy bro
I loved this opening, it really captures the heart of the series and book 3, and I love how you used an extended version of opening 13 of Gintama. And I'm sure it was intentional of you to show Aang, still not wanting to kill Ozai, but knowing there might not be another way. Obviously he doesn't kill him, but I love those morally grey idea's coming from a show on Nickelodeon.
Thank you for making these openings, I appreciate your work.
Here’s another really good spot. 1:32
I'm just going to say:
I have watched, and read, a good number of fictional literatures. For manga/anime, I read/watch some of them that I found either truly spectacular or really good, be it finished or ongoing, like Berserk, Hokuto no Ken, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Eden: It's an Endless World, Slam Dunk, Eyeshield 21, Crows, Claymore, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist (and FMA Brotherhood), Vagabond, the Lone Wolf and Cub, Blade of the Immortal, Code Geass, One Punch Man, Goblin Slayer, All-Rounder Meguru, and Ouroboros. But among them all, Gintama has a truly special place in my heart. It was, is, and will forever be my favorite manga/anime series.
Avatar: the Last Airbender also has a special place as another best series I ever watch. I had so many goosebumps, and almost got tears in my eyes as soon as the video ended.
My only disappointment for this video is how seldom Iroh's appearance in this video while him destroying the Wall of Ba Sing Se should have been shown during the chorus. But what done is done. Even without it, this opening is already great. Really outstanding work. 👍
Gintama the last chapter coming next year too
1:21 - I felt that, then beutiful transition to little Katara
F-f-FIRE LORD KA YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

That scene with Katara staring at the lightning with zuko. And the way you hinted her Trauma was perfection.
Ah yes, two God tier Series in one opening.
It feels so perfect for the final arc of this show.
0:38 - 1:17 Gave me goosebumps all the way through holy shit.
1:37 - 2:04 Was also perfectly timed with the momentum of the music. goddamn.
Awesome dude.
BROTHER THIS SERIES WAS SO GREAT THAT ACTUALLY WAS BETTER THAN ALMOST ANY ANIME AT THAT TIME
I really like the Ozai inhale of fire and the Iroh exhale of fire. That was such a cool cut. And ending the opening on Aang’s decision to either kill or spare Ozai was great. This is good at showing what the show is about without really spoiling it for people who haven’t watched it yet.
I actually just fell in love with this song all over again, so many good memories
Just watched all three of these, Avatar: The Last Airbender, openings. This shit is fantastic! It's making me want to go back and rewatch Avatar with how well the scenes are chosen for different moments of the song.
Its really nice to know gintama got a chance to shine, and also fits godly with the video
If i get to watch this as a child,i would gone nuts by the sheer amount of excitement that this op create
The intro we didn’t know we needed
I love how this gives a good taste and feel of Season 3 without spoiling it too much.
man this just makes me wish for more ATLA content :(
Masterpiece of an Opening
1:41 is soo well timed!! Good job man this is really good!
That edit of all the Avatars with Aang was sick
I like how book 2 was more action/ adventure and book 3 is more symbolic and emotional.
The second chorus is actually so amazing. The way it captures Aang vs Ozai, before jumping to Azula vs Zuko, specifically the lightning scene to then link it through Katara, to Aang getting struck and finally back to Ozai.
Absolute, flawless mastery of editing I get goosebumps everytime I watch it and repeat those last 30 seconds constantly
Just watched all three of these “OPs” for the first time. This one gave me CHILLS!
WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THE CLEAN TRANSITION FROM 1:39???
This is really well made, and makes me want to watch the whole series over gain. I really love how it ends with Aang pointing the lighting at Ozai because we know Aang will win as the main character, but we don't know if he's ready to take a life or not as that is the main conflict within him leading up to the fight and making the OP as a whole come full circle with the beginning. Little stuff like that makes me go crazy so freaking props dude on making such an amazing edit.
I love AVATAR and his fandom
Can we talk about how dope the Suki vs. Ty Lee fight was great!!
1:12 if this happened back in the day it would get people so hype considering we all thought Suki was dead.
I can't get over how amazing this is. I have watched this literally dozens of times and 1:30 onwards never fails to make my spine tingle.
Literal. Goosebumps.
Never seen Gintama, whether you meant to or not, this now is and always will be the Book 3 opening to me, well done sir👏🏼👏🏼
This comment is late but
Watch Gintama, it’s so good
this is art
Combining my favourite show and one of my favourite openings from one of my favourite anime? 10/10
This just reminds me of how badass Zuko is
This...This is perfection.
This one was definitely the best out of the three
Avatar really is Zuko & Aang’s story. Absolute legendary opening which displayed this very well.
The cut from Ozai breathing in the energy from the comet to Iroh doing the same thing?? Absolute FIRE bro 🔥🔥🔥
If Avatar was an anime I imagined that it would have 10 seasons and an additional season from the comics and fillers would the comics in between the series
The cut from Aang to Zuko was brilliant
Just finished avatar, first thing I did was watch all these OP’s
Okay, this is perfect. This song is now permanently tied to my love of this show. Every time I hear it it's going to give me Avatar feels.
1:24 I get chills every time
I am so fan, I can't stop replay this. Good work ✨
This is dope affffff. Avatar the last airbender is the pinnacle of entertainment

Ty Lee vs suki fit really well. One of my favs
