- In preparation for a different sort of video I've been wanting to make I went back to relearn the speedrun of Grow Home and over a few days I managed to grind out a new world record!
There is some new tech at the very start which involves half-sideways bhopping. It seems like a lot of games if you hold two directional keys (AD or WD) while hopping you gain way more speed that if you were just doing it normally. With a good hit off the rocks and a faster climb up the wall the start alone was 20 seconds faster than 6 years ago. Not sure if this is possible on a controller or not though.

Not sure if people prefer no commentary runs or would like to hear me stress about every lost frame. For now just for ease of not learning how to work with multiple audio channels my future runs are going to be without mic, but that might change in the future depending. Let me know your preference in the comments! Hope you enjoyed the run.

Great run, congrats on the record! Bummed to see my time beat so quickly but I don't think I'll be grinding this run out again anytime soon haha. I think we have some time saves available but it's becoming a pretty tight run.
Thank you! I think the big difference is the start which saves a lot of time. Without that I don't think I would have ever beat your time. I totally understand though, I think if it was even a little less RNG intense running it would be way more fun lol. I totally believe who ever ends up grinding for the record next will take it into the low 15:10s. Who ever it is has gotta have the patience of a saint though lol.
@@PootsNDoots My sum of best segments was 14:19 after around 40 hours of grinding the run and 450+ attempts. I think if someone committed to it we could see a sub 15 in this game.
@@kraigstenzel8944 That's honestly shockingly low! I really didn't realize there was so much time to be saved and I was thinking low 15 might be the best even on a really great run but that is kind of blowing my mind. I would absolutely love to see it though!

Yeah, they're a little wacky though. It's kind of something where you play for hours and hours and think you have a really good feel for it, and then all the sudden you realize you actually have no clue how the branches work when you turn around and it's curled completely away from the islands lol.
