But if they keep that same twist, it may backfire because from what I've seen people are sick and tired of that theme. It was a bold move that mirrored the harsh realities many faced, a narrative far more layered than mere provocation. The societal lens of 2013 made the narrative both plausible and poignant. Post-decriminalisation in 2018, one might argue that this layer of interpretation has evolved. Yet, the essence of the film a brilliant yet unhinged policeman grappling with amnesia, piecing his life together, and solving a murder, remains as sharp as ever. But then again, spotting nuance is an art, isn’t it ?
