  • This virtual, educational symposium explores the condition commonly called lupus fatigue, which can affecting almost everyone with SLE at some point in their lives. Presentations provide perspectives from three experts in the fields of rheumatology, physical therapy and patient support.
    Presenters include:
    Sharon Dowell, MD - Rheumatologist, Howard University Hospital
    Dr. Dowell discusses the medical perspectives of lupus fatigue, including its possible underlying causes and how the condition manifests in a variety of symptoms. Dr. Dowell also describes the factors that can contribute to lupus fatigue and what you can do to address this condition.
    Arnita Roberts-Christie, RN, BSN, MSN - Patient Engagement Liaison for GSK
    Ms. Roberts-Christie provides an overview of lupus and lupus fatigue, as well as an incredible number of resources and tools for those living with SLE.
    Lindsay Springer, DPT, MS, CPT
    Dr. Springer is a licensed physical therapist in practice in Portland, Oregon, and is living with lupus. Dr. Springer describes how physical therapists approach relieving pain and inflammation in order to address lupus fatigue. She is also the Master of Ceremony for this symposium.
