A) You are both very loving, caring and brave parents. The nobel peace & hiking prize to you! B) I never came to that charming and delightful National Park in 1987 and shit me - that´s a regret! Our car broke down after going to Lisbon so we took the train to Spain. C) Speaking about fun borders, have any of you been to Baarle-Nassau/Baarle-Hertog in Netherlands/Belgium?
Hi Meinart, phew! such a kind thing to say, thank you. You will, we are certain visit that national park one day, it's spectacular. We haven't seen that Netherland Belgium boarder, but now we really must. Thanks for mentioning it. We will possibly pass by there on the way back from eastern Europe. Thanks Meinart. 🙏☺️👍

Geez another lovely episode. Stunning waterfalls and swimming holes, gorgeous landscapes. Loved it all and can even forgive John body-slamming that lettuce into them picnic rolls. He really did show those lettuces who’s the boss. The look on Tara’s face when there was no mobile reception to navigate to the national park was priceless. Enjoying hitching a ride on your travels so much.

Yet another great video. Really enjoyed watching this as you got to parts of Portugal that I haven't been too. I am now inspired to explore the north. Should you keep going north into Spain I highly recommend the Picos de Europa. It is the best part of Spain (in my humble opinion).
Hi Mike! Yes, a great part of Portugal, we will be back. Seriously considering something more permanent in Portugal, it’s amazing. Back to quarantine this week, before heading on to new adventures. 👍
I found you looking for NC500 videos and last weekend I’ve watched 25-30 episodes of your adventures. The world with your eyes and positive humour is absolutely beautiful 👌 Thank you 😊
Hi Bogna Buzan! Great to hear from you (cool name!) Thanks so much for watching our videos, it’s really cool to know people are enjoying them. Did you have a favourite one? We have a few favourites. Thanks for being a part of our journey. 🙏👍😊
@@TheNewbys My favourite one is from Antarctica because it’s something different than I have seen on travelling vlogs. And your wedding day, what an idea 😍 I like episodes from Scotland as that’s our target for August! I have been in Scotland 11 years ago and it was an amazing trip, especially reaching the summit of Ben Nevis and I fell deeply in love with Isle of Sky 🥰 I like episodes from Portugal as it was our aim 2 years ago, on our Europe trip with tent. We had only 20 days, but we enjoyed each single day. Now, we have our small caravan, refreshed by us, so I like the episodes with renovations of your 2 campervans. I love vlog from Poland as I am Polish🇵🇱, but I live close to Cambridge🇬🇧 your handsome boy name is perfect for a little explorer :-)
Poland was fantastic! You come from a magical country!! It sounds like you guys are adventurers too. Lots of travels on the horizon, nice! Let us know when you get out in your caravan. Thanks so much for travelling with us friend, and if you ever think about Antarctica for yourself, let us know, AMAZING!! 👍🇵🇱👍
Fantastic videos and really enjoy them. It allows me to live my life a little vicariously through the three of you - after watching each video I feel like I just had a mini holiday for 30 mins 😁. Delighted I stumbled across these. You clearly are having a lot of fun and I think many of us just wish we would pick up and go and do what the three of you are doing. Gotta run, I’m off to holiday in Spain for 30 mins 😂

Loved this video. Life-affirming❤️Just got back from Pyrenees Aragonés . Used some of your recommendations up there too. Thank you. I can see a trip to Northern Portugal soon. I was in La Alberca and Magarroz a few years ago. I did an English for professional Spanish people course which changed my life. I now live in Southern Spain. Couldn't agree more about pushing outside of your comfort zone. 😊😎

@@TheNewbys I'll be watching little by little. You've made Portugal interesting for me, even though I've preferably gone for Spanish speaking countries as I grew up in Colombia.
Another great episode. What a gorgeous & fascinating area. My sun fix with you guys each week is keeping me going. 3 weeks left of school term here & I’ve got everything crossed for some improvement to our Summer weather. Loved you Airbnb, it looked fab . Xx Just to add Tara, your thoughts & doubts on travelling with baby Crusoe resonated with me on a much smaller scale. I took our daughter on holiday to Majorca for a week, she was 3 months old ( she’s just turned 20!!) without my husband but with friends. I was so scared but so proud of myself when we got back. You are awesome 👏
That is so wonderful to hear Emma, thank you. And goodness, doing this without John would be a whole different kettle of fish so I don’t think your trip is in any way smaller than what we’re up to with little Crusoe! Well done and you absolutely should have been very proud of yourself. Have a great week and thanks so much again xx

Hey Cam. Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. Not sure about the time, it’s from a company we don’t use anymore and so getting the name is tricky. We are really pleased you enjoyed it. Maybe try and use Shazam app? 🙏👍🇺🇸
The town of Lindoso is part of my ancient ancestry. One of my Middle Ages (xv century) grannies was born in Lindoso and married into my paternal family, which settled further down the mountain in another parish town, that of Ponte da Barca. My family has lived in that area since time immemorial and my father's parish is Magalhães, Ponte da Barca. That is where Fernão de Magalhães, or Magellan the famous one, was from. We have national Portuguese documents stating his aunt, which claimed his fortune after he parished in the Philippines, was from Ponte da Barca. Most visitors totally ignore the region of Minho and it is stunning, full of history and also a very ancient Celtic land. It is bad for allergy suffers like myself and your husband, though. So happy you discovered it and had fun. Continue to enjoy my beautiful country. BTW ur baby is gorgeous! 🇵🇹😱🥰🤗🙏
Hi M Silva, great to hear from you!! Thanks for your comment. So cool to have such a long and detailed family history, something to be very proud of. Your families roots are certainly buried deep in some of Europe’s most beautiful landscapes. Thanks for sharing it with us. Crusoe spent a lot of time hanging out with Portuguese people, lots of cuddles and smiles. ❤️🇵🇹🙏👍
@@TheNewbysAbsolutely! I am so in love with the place, and of course, my heritage. Babies are always a hit in 🇵🇹 as we have so few, but especially the ones like Crusoe. We have a few of his phenotypes in some of the smaller hamlet towns in Minho. Those received heavy Celt and Germanic tribe settlement in the IV century and way before. There is one in particular about 18km NW of Braga called Aboim do Nobrega. It is part of the larger commune of Vila Verde. The Suebi (Germans living between the Elba and Volga rivers) settled there and all around the River Man (Rio Homem) on their march to the NW of the Iberian Peninsula; this according to the Roman accounts. Descendents of the Suebi, the Buri and some Quads that joined the march as well, well their DNA still lives in many of the Minho small parish towns to this day. One other town slightly up north, but just South of Ponte da Barca is called Terras de Bouro: it stands for "Land of the Buri" because the Buri settled there. These towns and Vila Verde too have a lot of redheads, especially Aboim with mostly readheads and blondes, so you would feel right at home! Incredible, say most foreigners that see us mostly as dark, short, swarthy and most Portuguese south are, but in Minho it is different, though there are many swarthy there as well😉. These Germans used to hide from the Moors and lived in difficult terrain; mountainous with rivers nearby. You have to come back to visit some of the many amazing sights and villages of Minho; Lindoso is just one of them. Peace & stay safe✌️🙏🤗❤️🇵🇹
Hi M Silva, that is some serious knowledge of your country. Wow! It’s so cool to know that Europeans were moving around and settling in different parts of Europe way back in the 4th century. Of course they were, and of course we still do. We are seriously looking at Portugal our selves as a place that might occupy more of our time. Thanks for sharing what you know with us, we will almost certainly be heading to the places you recomend. 👍❤️🇵🇹🤩
@@TheNewbys Thank you😊I am a bit of a history buff and there is plenty around here, but in the UK as well. I hope you visit us soon again. If you plan on visiting more of Minho, you missed this gem on your last visit. About 1.5hr by car around Gerês and past my dad's town is Arcos de Valdevez. Just a bit north of that is the hamlet town of Sistelo; a gem! Think about it, even Forbes did and published a piece on it but hardly anyone goes there; good!😉Stay well and Covid free. ua-cam.com/video/iYaAsiLY2lc/v-deo.html 🤗🙏❤️🇵🇹
Terrific drone footage there. What a lovely looking village. I’m very sure we will be back soon to explore more. Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm and knowledge M Silva. :) 👍
16:19: We are going on a 2 km walk along a dirt track to see a waterfall which is allegedly almost as high as Angel Falls”. Fades to the waterfall at 16:39 (tap on the link to see what I mean). I expected sales talk but that’s ridiculous 😉

Another fab video, Thanks for sharing and enjoy the rest of this week!
Thank you for watching Suzanne, we so appreciate it! Have a great week your end too x

@@TheNewbys And thanks very much to you guys for showing us around the world, in your adventures.
Flaneur!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 oh friend that’s so funny, we are laughing out loud!!! John doesn’t make the greatest sandwich, that’s for sure!! 😂😂. Thanks for entertaining us back, you’re a rock star. Really pleased you enjoyed this episode. Thanks for watching!! 🙏👍🤩

As a new subscriber I am watching your old blogs and just loved this one with the waterfalls and such a blessing that the guy at the entrance gave you a free pass. Crusoe crying just at the right time.

Hi Alevel videos. Good to hear from you. Always nice to get kind comments. :) Did you like the look of the National park, and do you remember those old European boarders?

Hi DJ. Thanks so very much for your kind comment. It’s great to have you travelling with us! Thanks so much. If you could go any where in the world, where would it be? 🙏👍😊
Hi Declan, Great to hear from you friend, its been quite a week! thanks so much for watching and taking this journey with us, it’s cool to know that you are also enjoying the adventure, your support is so very much appreciated! 👍🙏🚐
Hi Helen, terrific to hear from you. Thanks for leaving us a comment. Sounds like you are having some of your own exciting adventures! Great that we have helped with some travel ideas.

Those grain houses are amazing! And your drive to the water falls and the scenery was beautiful and green!
Thanks Amanda!! 😊😊❤️❤️

Thanks Luzia! 🇵🇹🙏❤️

Sorry, but I'm just curious... So the pharmacy was in Spain? Because in Portugal we speak Portuguese.
That’s right Pedro.

Hey Felix. Obligado?!!! Ha, We are both always confused with words, we have a pretty eclectic language between the two of us. John with his Finnish words, Tara of course with her African ones. Crusoe don’t stand a chance!!! Not long to wait until the Olympics now. We can’t wait!!

Hi SA. Thanks for leaving us a comment. Good to hear from you. Crusoe is loving every minute of his travels, and we are loving watching him grow. We use iPhone 12 Pro Max to do most of the filming we did try vlogging cameras but the phones are less of a burden to remember and are easy to whip out at any time, they do everything we need too. We will often use an additional mic though. Thanks! 📱🙏👍
