Dear Chief, I have a six week old granddaughter with noble Navajo heritage. You have helped me (an LDS woman raised in Salt Lake City with almost no understanding of Native history) to understand just how sacred and special our new baby is and to love my son-in-law and his family even more. My heart aches for your struggles. I hope you can remember that if you are doing God's work it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of you. Thank you for the good you have already done. ❤

My dear Brother, there are more of us that are for you than that are against you. What this nation has done greaves me. I thought that the Indian were treated bad but I had no Idea on how bad it was. The time of the Gentiles is coming to an end. God has promised this land to your people and they need good leaders. I do my best to be on Gods side, I believe that God is on your side. Do what you think is best, but I believe you are needed. and Amen to the other comments. I have been awakened to our awful situation for over 5 years, I have learned that most people want to be asleep and get upset if you try to wake them up. You are waking them up and some don't like it but we all need to wake up. I would love to talk with you but I know that you are a very bussie man, May God bless and keep you safe.

Chief, remember Jesus asked His father to take his burden from him in possible. Don't give up! You are fighting the good fight, persevere to the end of whatever. Keep humble. Your righteous indignation has been justified. This is from a 77 year old white, LDS member. I don't think there is a crucifixion in your future, but it may be hard. Doing your best with honor is to keep going forward.

Dearest Chief Midegah, I cried in gratitude the first time I heard you speak and that the tribes of Israel were coming forward. And now I feel to cry again that you have come under such pressure by those who should be loving you the most that it would be too heavy to bear. I see the pain in your eyes and want you to know that I support you and I know that there are many others who support you as well. I sent you an email a few days ago expressing my appreciation for what you are doing. You may not have seen it among everything else that may have come to you. I just want you to know that you are needed in the world right now. I think of Moroni who wandered alone for years to protect the plates and avoid being killed. You too are being attacked on all sides but there are many supporting and praying for you as well. Among all those who are fighting against Zion, there are so many who are fighting for Zion, please stay with us in the fight.

Thank you for your heartfelt message. Because of you, we are studying and researching to get our school an accurate history curriculum, which has been hard, and to include your teachings, starting with the 7 Teachings of the Grandfather and learning our ancestors 7 generations behind us so that they can be a bridge to the 7 generations in front of them. These are sound teachings and will be well worth the investment into our children. Above all, we will be teaching "Remember who you are."
These are small steps, I know, but they are steps moving in the right direction so that "when the student is ready, the master will come", can be a part of our building up God's kingdom in the earth. And as you said to us mothers, remind the children the first sound they heard was their mother's heartbeat. Our children are indeed our greatest work of art. God speed and God bless.

David, the Lord has given you a voice. Your poetry is deep and expresses so much from the heart, much like David is old. I'm impressed to share a few verses from two of the Psalms:
Psalm 39, selected verses - "I said I will keep watch over my ways so that I do not sin with my tongue; I will keep watch over my mouth. . . while the wicked are in my presence; my pain was stirred up. My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue: Lord, let me know my end, and what is the extent of my days. . . And now, Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.
Psalm 40: I waited patiently for the Lord; and He reached down to me and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the mud; And He set my feet on a rock, making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear and will trust in the Lord. How blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust. . .
    Psalm 40:

When you would speak I could feel a witness from the Holy Spirit speak to me of the truth when it was spoken.
I felt like you taught me how important it is to help others in the community. You give me excitement for the return Jesus Christ.
I have a greater love for the Book of Mormon. I see how hard it is to live in these last of the last days . And more all because of you . I feel like I saw through the anger and saw what God see. I hope my prayers help lighten your burdens
    Remember you are loved.

Dear chief Midegah, I am so grateful for the work you are doing. I am originally from Brazil, and recently, I found out through family history that I have native south-american blood, and my distant native ancestors were descendents of a chief who converted to Christianity and had dreams of his descendents with the portuguese being the future of the land. He helped the portuguese settlers to succeed in the land. The South-American Indians were mistreated also, but I am proud to have found out about this piece of family history and proud to still have 6% Native American DNA. I am also a member of the Chur h of Jesus, and I see your efforts as fulfillment of Book of Mormon prophecy. I pray that the Lord will give you strength to do what He requires of you! I love you, brother!

    Thank you for sharing.
I came across your interviews for a few weeks and then this video came up. I can relate to what you are saying.
My children are enrolled Natives (Phx area). I lived on the Rez a long time but now moved to town. I was adopted and that is a long story but I found out who my dad was, last year, and we have at least 3 tribes in there, with a couple famous people. It was interesting. These are all long stories, but short story is that my kids have their struggles relating to heritage and family. I did my best to help them process everything but I’m not perfect and we have some family issues. We are all LDS but I’m the only one going to church. I kinda drag my youngest daughter and her 3 kids. The rest are just not interested.
Without getting in too much detail, I can say that genealogy and participating with my ancestors in the temple is what keeps me going. It’s also how I found my dad.
    Thank so much for listening.

Chief, a record of your father’s states, [Book of Mormon, Moroni 7:43-44) “And again, behold I say unto you that he cannot have faith and hope, save he shall be meek and lowly in heart. (44) If so, his faith and hope is vain, for none is acceptable before God, save the meek and lowly in heart; and if a man be meek and lowly in heart, and confesses by the power of the Holy Ghost that Jesus is the Christ, he musts needs have charity; for if he have not charity he is nothing; wherefore he must needs have charity.”
Remember, chief, you are carrying an extremely heavy burden of generations because of your charity for your brothers and sisters. It is charity that is driving you. Do not lose hope. Do not falter from your mission, even if you falter personally. Christ will raise you up. Remember that your identity is a child of God first. It is that recognition that is driving you today. We are children of our Heavenly Father first and foremost. God bless. Bob

We all have a path in life that our creator has foreseen for us. Unfortunately, we have only hindsight ourselves. BUT , then there is that thing…the Holy Spirit, a portion of God Himself within those who love Him. That is where His foresight can become our knowledge.
Follow that spirit, His Holy Spirit within you, David. It will never fail you.

God uses imperfect people to do his work. You have opened up our minds and awakened us to the marvelous work that is coming forth. I have wondered so many times why there hasn't been open talk about the Lamanites over these so many years since the first missionaries were sent to them by Joseph Smith. Why have we not joined together sooner!

I have much of the same background that you have. It’s hard when you find yourself not only relating to an indigenous culture, but to a European one and then an LDS culture, too. I share many of the same feelings of love and shame and trying to carry the mistakes of our parents and also trying to make an honest way in life oneself - of hoping to do better and then dealing with self. I think I get it to some extent. Also, if you give up on the anger, it feels like you lose some motivation. I think the one thing I feel to say to you is that you are okay! You are a child of God our Creator, he knows you, his son died for you, and so did Joseph Smith. But, we are one and we will be healed, we need to trust in our Savior and keep moving and looking forward. It’s all good, it will all work out and you and I are okay.

Dear Chief, I am a LDS from Mexico living in LA. I want to confess that I am jealous of you because half of my DNA is from Native people of Mexico and I don't know anything about them. This was because civil records were only for the Spanish people. You are proud of your family and that is very honorable. It is important to keep the traditions and teachings from our Elders. Nothing would make me more happy that receiving the ancient knowledge directly from my ancestors. You have that honor. This is your calling and each calling has challenges. Jesus talked directly to our people and they loved him for being a peace maker. Follow his example. Love and peace for you and your family.

If he wants to give the bundle back who would he give it back to ? His grandmother ? The Native American people ? Is that what his stake president says to do ? Like him I do wonder why the r presidency stays silent . But then then they always do . I do trust them completely but do wish they could say something. ?? Did they ask for the record he has ? Or did he give it to him ? If they asked to see it I’m sure they are being guided . It would be good to see all of these just to see them . I’m just wondering if like the a. The ones Joseph Smith was told not to translate because it had many truths in it but also many untruths and you need the spirit to read them . I just wish they could say something about his scrolls or have they ? I have t watched all
Of this yet . I know the Bible says a lot of books are missing and names them . I’m
Sure there are a lot more scriptures everywhere . I don’t really even know what they think about the Dead Sea scrolls . They just do not say very much . I did read them and found things in them I know are not true . For instance it says that Jesus was married to Mary Magdeline and kissed her on the mouth and his apostles were jealous because he loved her more than he loved them. Really ? Since the apostles were also married I find this hard to believe . And yet these Christian’s brag up these Dead Sea scrolls but do not even believe Jesus was married . I’m just wondering if they really even read them ?? Other things in them I found odd also . They did have the lay out of the city and the 24 temples like Joseph Smith has . Yet honestly I have never heard the church approves of them or does not approve of them . They never say much . I just know reading them did not much for me at all . Also there is a book out now of others in the Book of Mormon . Can read it on line . I guess the church has it but why not make it for us all to have . Again do they approve it or not ? It seems like they do . They don’t say much . They also have the book of Joseph . The Joseph from Egypt . Cwic shared it . Why do they not share it with everyone . It seems to be teaching temple things maybe that is why . It seems like they approve but they never say much . I’m sure they a lot of things they don’t share .

May Heavenly Father be with you on this difficult journey! You are my cousin and taking the video down and saying you can do better, was a humility act that was powerful to hear. Your frustrations were probably warranted. People don’t easily understand each other, but, if we keep trying, we will find that commonality we have as Gods children and leave the differences outside the judgement box for God only. I don’t want to judge anyone unrighteously, because I won’t deserve a just, loving judgment from My Father in Heaven. May you have all your angel ancestors around you that you need with Gos blessing ❤. I would love to share a priceless photo of what I now believe was one of my tribal ancestors who came into my photo while light painting my car in 2012 to warn me of the place we were moving to and the troubles we would have there because of an unknown previously disturbed Native burial ground. I did not connect the photo to that move, til 2021, after another move. Take care!

I honestly do not know what you've been going through. I am not a member of any indigenous first nation tribe. I am just a fellow LDS Melchizedek Priesthood member. I am confident that any counsel from the brethren was only meant to ensure your success. You know, when Chief Moroni wrote that scathing letter to Pahoran, he probably could've went about it differently. But, they were at war with a ferocious enemy, and Moroni's supplies and force in numbers were dwindling. Pahoran sent him a letter back, stating that even though Moroni expressed his anger with him over his alleged lack of action and lack of support (not realizing that Pahoran was ousted from his judgement seat and was unable to assist him) he still rejoiced in the fact that Moroni and his men were still fighting the good fight and could help him take back Zarahemla. Regardless of the tone in his epistle, He was still Chief Captain Moroni. And you are still Chief David Midegah, your fathers son, selected by a very wise woman of your tribe to lead your people just like Moroni was called like his father before him to defend his.
As you yourself stated, no one is perfect! Everyone makes mistakes! Whether you learn it from a Lodge ceremony or from a Temple endowment, learning from mistakes is why we are here on this earth. In the eyes of our savior and our loving Father in Heaven, we are defined not by our mistakes, but by how we handle them and by what we learn from them. It is why we must always cultivate within us a growth mindset. Eternal progression is simply defined a growth mindset on steroids. Whether they be from your grandmother, your mother, your father, or from you, mistakes are part of the learning process.
Also, putting things into prospective, there are also many things you are doing right. You still have the scrolls and teachings entrusted to you by your tribe. Joseph Smith lost 116 pages of history and teachings entrusted to him not by a tribe, but by an angel of the Lord. You are nowhere near messing up that bad. And yet, the Lord still used him as an instrument in restoring the fullness of his gospel on Earth. There is nothing that the Peacemaker's Atonement cannot cover.
I suggest you read closely the letter Pahoran wrote back to Moroni. In the great conflict of ideas for the hearts and minds of men many of us in church in regards to sharing the gospel feel as discouraged as Pahoran. It is difficult to invite people to read and pray about a record outside the Holy Bible, given to a young boy by an angel, and translated by the gift and power of God. To Western Europeans, it all sounds nuts! Here you come along being a descendent of both Joseph Smith and the Anashinaabe with scolls supporting the Book of Mormon as an authentic record. Do we take offense to some of the confrontational language used? Well, some maybe, but for most of us out here, no. We rejoiced at your being fired up carrying a title of liberty to help us take back Zarahemla (metaphorically speaking).
Though I understand your need to honor your mothers (as you rightfully should), I know the choice is yours to make regarding the return of the peace pipe. I don't know all that it entails, but I know that leadership (well, leadership that is done right) is often a burden. Our brothers, the Dineh (Navajo) teach how life is a maze and that God, the perfect man, is at the center of that maze. You and I know from personal revelation that our Savior, Jesus Christ, the one who overcame all things, is the perfect man at the center of that maze, and that as we humbly ask for his help, his strength, and his wisdom at each crossroad, he will help us through that maze in getting us get closer to him. I bear testimony that I know that we are never alone. I bear testimony that the great Peacemaker, and all our ancestors watch over us, and are there to assist us as we kneel to pray in the name of Jesus Christ for help. It is why we have temples. Keep you recommend current. Go there to pray. list the pros and cons, make a decision, and pray to have clarity to have the Holy Spirit confirm your decision. I know that as we lean our teepee pole to his, we can make it all stand. I apologize if this all sound cliche. I just wanted to encourage you the way you have inspired me. All the best!

Sometimes our lives don’t happen the way we hoped. I think God recognizes our intent, He sees our hearts. Looking to God for our identity, our worth or our value is the way to keep balance. The other voices don’t really count in the end. I’m so sorry you are attacked. I see you. Remember that in the Bible it says to rejoice when we are persecuted. You are doing it right. Your humility speaks volumes. Sending prayers.

Stand FIRM! The enemies of Light will certainly seek to prevent; knowing the path of Light does contradict their way, and therefore does expose them. Strong truth does cause their bones to tremble. REMEMBER: “THOSE” that TARRY do SUSTAIN YOU as well as your tribal elders. You are chosen for good reason being qualified in every acceptable way. Let none deceive you from that which is FIRM! Even that predestinated and preordained is not to be tampered with. Woe unto those that work against that which the Spirit desires to make manifest. This is about ridding all excuses to not obey covenants and principles that STAND FIRM eternal. It may be that certain ones within the church will hear the voice of Spirit and will choose that voice over the voice of flesh.. These will come unto truth and be spared. If the Elders are instructed by those that tarry to have that Warning Letter be released to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; then so it is. Go then with clean hands; wholeheartedly unto the Jewels, and raise them up: as inspiration is given to do so. First last Last first … the repentant gentile will be grafted in to the mother tree and the root thereof. The rest will be left unto themselves; because they despised the right word sent to them in right season. You are the scapegoat that takes away their excuses. Therefore; these will make grave attempt to curve you away from your Firm Stance of Righteousness. You are prepared for this battle. A battle of Words!! You will be given the right Words in the moment thereof. Fear not! So far…YOU HAVE ONLY WHISPERED. The whispering of TRUTH is like THUNDER unto the rebellious one’s! A LOUD REBUKE STILL AWAITS THE DISOBEDIENT WHO WILLFULLY COME AGAINST THE WORK THE GOOD SPIRIT DESIRES! Again remember…you are SUSTAINED by THOSE that TARRY ….. needs you any greater witness? Great witness is here already. Gather all great Witness in ONE! …a time to remember purposes and to unite and to speak and act upon that desired purposes spoken of; as One Body perfectly fit together for the common welfare of ALL: without respect of persons. David.. you’ve only whispered!

I've got 5 generations back secured in my Patrilinial line for my family history. Because of the claims of blood from another, we're cut off from our namesake (something we could previously trace back through royalty back to 400 AD). There's one more thing that I can do (can't afford it yet, but working on it) to know for sure. If I end up *not* being of that heritage, i'll have to be "ok" with it, but it feels like a big loss.

Through tears of growing understanding, with a mind more opened to the story of your direct ancestors, I write this missive to plead with you to continue your inspired work to help gather indigenous peoples . We need you very much . I’ m a Gentile . I need you, your message, your courage , your vision.
When I first read the Book of Mormon I rejoiced, cried for happy to know of Heavenly Father’s true character. He loves all His children. These are the last days and when the time is right, and I feel it’s very soon, we will “build our teepees together “ our poles placed properly. How, when,I don’t know.
This do know; you are the man for this time. All of heaven is surely cheering you on. Please. !! Do not let ignorance,or the adversary’s minions squelch your passion.
Not long ago I discovered that my 16th great grandmother is a Wampanoag woman who married a Gypsy that was shunned by the Pilgrims. Together she and her husband contributed much to the town of Barnstable Massachusetts and raised many good children. I also have a granddaughter whose mother is of the WaccamawSiuan people in Columbus County here in North Carolina. I’m sharing your UA-cam videos with her, all her family, and all of my friends who will take the time to listen and watch.
Two of my friends are already signed up for the conference in September in Wisconsin.I cannot go, but wish I could.
I’ll never stop praying for you and all who work with you. 😊Remember D&C 27:15-18 !

Stand for the truth. Stand strong. Do not pay any attention to anyone who would stand in the way of what you know is true. The Savior was ridiculed., criticized, by misguided or evil people. He said, Come follow me. He said come follow me! You are being derided just like the Savior and criticized just like the Savior. Please know you are welcome in our home at any time.

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Any true disciple of Jesus Christ must drink of the same bitter cup that he drank. And while Christ did ask for the cup to be taken, he knew it was his destiny and his honor to his father. So do I see the same with you and your calling. May God sustain you even in the depths of sorrow.
