As a kid, I always thought the pink part of Cheetor's gun from Beast Wars was his "brain" gun. As in the reason he acts so stupid or impulsive was because he was missing his brain because they put it in the gun. And he shoots his brain at enemies. But decades later I found out it's supposed the "guts" of the Cheetah beast mode. I like my version better lol.
I like that version better too lol
._.
Me to lol
Wayyyyy better than the gut gun lol
Why did it have to be guts
3:47 I remember as a kid, adjusting to my new life in America, my parents struggled a lot financially as immigrants. They bought me this huge Cheetor for some reason even though they couldn't afford it (maybe they knew I was having a hard time at school adjusting), and it instantly changed my life. It cheered me up and gave me confidence because I had one of the coolest toys at the time. It's amazing what a toy can do to a kid hahaha
Had no idea about all the Alpha Trizer stuff for original Cheetor. Very nice that he went onto become this sort of sage, Alpha Trion-esque figure.
I'm just surprised that Hasbro hasn't used the name Night Slash on any other Transformer. It sounds like a good name for a puma or jaguar Transformer.
ya
That's a good name.
Perhaps we could have something like a seeker team but with cheetor tigatron and night slash instead
@@localr0bot Dude, I totally support that idea! But what would they be called?
@@benjaminklaassen4722 they would be called The Pack
Cheetor's character was fun to watch on Beast Wars. No other Transformer show had a character "grow up" like he did.
There was only one other character who "grew up" like Cheetor did. That character was in transformers prime. But I think Cheetor was better.
@@spidermaster360 you are right. I forgot about Smoke Screen. I'm hoping that's who you were referring to.
@@georei I actually forgot about smoke screen being in prime. I was refering to another autobot. I was afraid to say who in case you have not seen transformers prime yet.
@@georei I was reffering to bumble bee. He started the series with personality like a teenager, but by the end of the series he had a mature personality fit for a leader.
@@spidermaster360 I agree with that. Especially on the Beast Hunters episodes.
I find it interesting that Optimus Primal was used as a guardian of ancient tech only a few years ago.
And now its Cheetors turn to provide a similar role in Cyberverse.
This might become the new thing for Beast Wars characters.
Kind of irritates me how off character he was. Cheetor acted more like Silverbolt
@@otterwithadarkside3656 Different universe.
@@mitchfletcher2386 Still, why do all the other characters get to have constistant characterization except the ones from Beast Wars?
Next series Dinobot will be guarding the key to vector sigma
Cheetor's characterization in Beast Machines was one of the few character arcs I think the show handled well.
And the only one with a good design all around.
@@kevincarballo1 Rattrap had a good design too.
Basically it was the same as Enzo from reboot (the studios previous show)
The show did most things well
@@novustalks7525 beast machines or reboot
Cheetor is pretty awesome. I like what they are doing with his cyberverse incarnation.
Taking a irresponsible character and making him the responsible one but still being a kid
The two part episode where Dinobot was brought back as a clone and Cheetor became a Transmetal 2 was my favorite part of Beast Wars Season 3. Loved seeing it on the first dvd release as a kid!!!
Feral Scream is my favorite episode of the series.
Okay you did Cheator, now can we see his little buddy. Rattrap!
Shut up Rattrap.
Were all gona die
Rattrap and dinobot were some of the best dynamics of the show
I love Rattrap. I wish Tigertron got more love tho
@@TheRealTerranMarine Tigertron was the GOAT lo key
I think that transmetal 2 cheetor aesthetic would have been a much better fit for beast machines. It looked like a good fusion of organic and metal components while still feeling like a transformers character. Beast machines for me felt like another show entirely with the characters we know put inside of it
While I am happy to see Cheetor finally returning to the screen again in Cyberverse. I kinda feel as though the whole “guardian of the Allspark” role would’ve been more suited for Tigatron.
But that’s just one minor nitpick.
Laserbeak316 just seems to me that they are reusing the role that Primal has in the Prime wars trilogy
Cheetor was my first beast wars figure and the reason I got back into transformers as a teenager
Cheetor was one of my favorites from Beast Wars. His story from immature youngster to mature warrior was was interesting.
You said it best in the video, and it's one of the big reasons I love Cheetor. He has fantastic development throughout his time in the Beast Wars and Beast Machines. Most transformers seem to stick with one note and that's it. So it's always refreshing and compelling to show an "annoying kid bot" evolve and grow into a true leader. Love Cheetor and your videos a tone.
My favorite Cheetor is the original Beast Wars. Loved his story/arc.
My favorite design is definitely his original season one look.
My second favorite is his Transmetal 2 design from season 3.
Cheetor AKA the “Bumblebee” of Beast Wars/Machines.
Bumblebeast Era?
Although, he's more like Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime.
Maybe
@@TheSmart-CasualGamer BADUM-TSSSS.
He's also the "Enzo" of beast wars
@@Roboshi2007 Who the hell is that?
I got the original Cheetor as my first Transformer for Christmas back in 1997, and he's been my favorite character ever since. Glad to finally get a basics episode on him!
Cheetor was apperently the one of the, if not the most popular transformer that year. Only one who was completely sold out locally.
I know this because I actually got an apology letter from santa. (keep in mind, I was, like, 8 at the time)
Same
Wow, the nostalgia. I always liked how Cheetor had a series-spanning character arc, it really made his character progress pretty well. And the Transformers Go Bot series, wow...I haven't seen anything on that series in years, I didn't know he was even in it. This episode is just loads of my childhood. Great video as usual, McFeely!
It really is nice of TF Cyberverse to bring some attention back to Cheetor after all these years, as well as the IDW comics and Masterpiece. ☺
@ Well, one can only hope anyway. ^.^
@ how about Override from Cybertron and Commander Spitfire?
@ okay, how about Beachcomber, the Autobot who is very peaceful, meet either Treehugger or Fluttershy?
@@silverdustengine9230 Fluttershy? Now we're cooking!,But we can do better! What else you got? Im thinking along the lines of:Applejack+Ironhide,Blaster+Dj Pony3,Rainbow Dash+hot rod, swindle+flim and flam,Also if you could have combaticons re-colours as mane 6 who whould it be?(my ideas are:onslaught=twilight,blast-off=rarity,vortex=pinkie,brawl=dash,swindle=aj)
@ Okay, how about Ratchet or Redalert(animated)and Nurse Redheart?
Just graduated from college and I swear your video is the cherry on top of a good week! Thank you!
Congratulations on graduation!
Ah congratulations, it's a celebration, party all day I, know you've been waiting.
Thanks guys! My day got even better!
Congrats, man! 👏😊🎉
Nice, congratulations man!
Being a G1 baby, I grew up watching the original series in syndication. Only being 2 years old with the destruction of Unicron in '86. Beast Wars was the first true series for me that I got to watch from debut to end with Beast Machines. So all the maximals hold a special place in my heart.
Beast Wars is where it's at
2 years old in 86.
Then you are as old as transformers franchise itself.
Cheetor is one of my favorite characters of the whole Transformer era. Even though Beast Wars came out to television when I was a year old, but I love the show.
I knew Cheetor was my favorite character for a reason. Nice to see Prime passed the torch to him. He was a beast when he first had his transformation haha that was so cool.
man this makes me wants to binge watch Beast Wars, well done 👍
You really know how to make a video a Transformer I didn't grow up with interesting. I hope you do one on Reflector someday, I'm really interested in him and I really like your style. Keep it up Chris.
This video was not a cheat, it had all the spots on Cheetor. I never sprinted to a video faster before this one, it maximized my enjoyment. ;D
Ha ha ha ha I love puns
You're such a cool cat. I agree though, I thought this episode was the cats meow.
*Rimshot intensifies
*cringe overload
😂😂😂
I agree there’s no way in hell this video can be considered cheetah-ing
I love cheetor. I have most of his figures that were featured in this episode and I got to meet his voice actor at TF con this year.
Hawe you meet he's daughter? ;)
@ He has a daughter? Huh. Neat
I love the character growth he undergoes in beast machines.
Ian Corlett was the Ocean Entertainment dub version of Goku, for the first 30ish episodes, then Peter Kelamis took over for 20ish episodes. After that, Funimation studios replaced everyone.
Yesssss!! Just about to finish season 2 of Beast Wars for the first time. Freaking love Cheetor! Easily a favorite of mine!!!
Love the beast wars and machines version, because I was of the target age when it came out and I grew up watching the character. Thank you for this basics episode.
Cheetor is really cool. I honestly have always thought he was an interesting Character
I'm not a huge fan of Cyberverse, but it is really awesome to see Cheetor coming back to the screen, he was always one of my favorites growing up.
I'm so happy that I had the transmetal 2 cheetor as a kid then and Christmas I got his base form
Excellent job I love cheetor especially his transmetal version
Honestly cheetor is such an underused badass i might watch this cyberverse show just for him. I also love that he is the one out of all the maximals to get love. I feel if it was primal in each spot that cheetor fills outside of beast wars/machines it wouldnt be nearly as special
Man this video is just spot on smooth. Its a crime
You never did have taste, did ya kid? Now this. This is what class is all about.
@@waynelukovszki7796 Oh, yeah? How about I cut mieces to pieces?
@@AlexSeverinski I wish it was possible to find full episodes of beast wars on UA-cam but it's only possible to find part episodes... Sadly.
Cheetor was one of my favorite charactors on Beast Wars & if there was a 3rd season of Beast Machines I could picture him becoming Rodimus Primal since he's the Hot Rod of Beast Wars
Favorite Character. Hands down. So sad Transtech sequel never came to be... :(
Cheetor was the one single transformer I remember distinctly growing up. A testament to his popularity for nearly 30 years
Beast or Bot, we're still the badest!
Which Transformer will you never play against? A Cheetor!
Johnny Flash reference?
I just saw that video earlier today.
@@Thatguy-ki3po Yup. Watch his videos, especially "What the Autobots do in their free time" to hear Optimus Primal's voice. His videos are AWESOME.
@@spidermaster360 Which was favorite, "robot in the skies" or "Grimluck"? My favorite was "That's just Prime".
@@twistedgaming9185 I watch the vids lol, what insecticons do in their free time is cool too
Even though I never grew up with Beast Wars, and instead watched it online.
I still love this show, and Cheetor is my favorite character of them all.
I especially loved his relationship with Tigatron, especially with the nicknames they gave each other.
And Cheetor’s reaction to Tigatron and Airazor being abducted by the Vok was heartbreaking.
I love beast war! There not much youtubers doing introduction about them , wonderful job
I also saw Cheetor as the Bumblebee of Beast Wars, many said it was Rattrap, but their personalities are completely the opposite.
This was a great episode! Loved it.
I would like to know more about another Beast Wars Character, maybe Lio Convoy or Tigatron
Not only you talkin about my favorite character but you're talkin about my favorite Transformer show Beast Wars was my introduction to transforming universe when I was a kid I am 32 years old now I have so much memories watching this cartoon!!!!!👍👍
Well, only a matter of time until Waspinator or Airazor or Dinobot get the Basics....the long game begins!!!
I've got that giant Beast Machines Cheetor toy. For some reason, kid me thought that it would be a cool thing to own. Kid me was an idiot.
I love the Transmetal Beast Wars figures.
Cheetor could be consider the Bumblebee of Beast Wars, but its personality and enthusiasm in battle turn him into the Hot Rod of the entire Beast Wars/Machine saga
There he is my little guy! There he is... MY little guy... isn't he cute?
I love that after his upgrade to his Transmetal 2 form, his voice lowered in pitch, furthering the "cyber puberty" thing
They called him a "jungle warrior" but his alt mode is a Planes creature. Sounds like Tigertron more fitting for "jungle warrior".
Indeed. Not to mention the whole evolution into a sage w/ a connection to the Oracle seems to be more in line w/ Tigatron's personality.
@@MoCa1979Jr Maybe that's why they phased Tigatron out when Tigerhawk was introduced. Hasbro will never want to drop out the kid-appeal character.
Packaging error maybe? (or foreshadowing, as it happened with Thunderwing)
Well maybe they meant it in the sense that he was originally going to be an expert in guerilla warfare and nature based booby traps. The original story for beast wars was set in the modern day with characters beast modes kinda being an afterthought to there rolls in the team, like in G1 (like how wheeljack is a Lamborghini scientist, or ironhide is a tough guy dad van)
@@twistedgaming9185 (In my Megatron voice) YES. I just thought it was because of budget constraints (yet again--which is why they've always had a limited number of TFs at any given time. Whenever new ones are introduced older ones "die") & Hasbro wanting certain characters in the series in order to sell more toys?
I mean that would explain it a bit better, because Tigatron could've always popped up to help the Maximals & return to his seclusion. That really wouldn't have "cramped Cheetor's style" as being "the lil cat". In fact, it would've strengthened his role, because he had a "big cat" to look up to--much like a boy looks up to his "big bro".
Gods, I wish Transtech was a thing. So many cool designs and ideas... just left for scrap
I was thinking the same thing.
Pretty tough between him and Dinobot, but I definitely relate to him the most.
Great episode as always!
Especially loved the pun in this outro! Very clever!
Seeing as how Power of the Primes had a Optimus Primal figure, I can't help but feel that they should've made a few more Beast Wars-Machines figures in that toyline. Cheetor being one of them.
I hope IDW will bring Cheetor commanding ability with a new show. I wish they would have continued with Beast Machine show.
Great video here more info than I thought on Cheetor. Big Bot would be proud of how long he has been around and how popular he has become.
Man, now I know why Cyberverse picked Cheetor, so cool
Transmetal Cheetor was the first figure I bought when I got back into collecting back in 1997. It impressed me how accurate the toy was to the animation model from the show.
Now i want the basics on bulkhead!
We already got an episode on him.
I wish Transmetal 2 Cheetor had retained the ability to fly, *but* on the other hand he was also canonically clocked running at *MACH 2* in his Transmetal 2 beast mode by the Predacons
This really smacks me on the cheetus
Yess
You won’t stop surprising me...it’s amazing
He may not have been offlined by a cosmiclly powered starscream, but he sure was beast flesh and transformers metal fused on the cellular level
Another absolute banger Chris! I never grew up with Beast Wars, it wrapped a few years before my break into the fandom, but if Generations was to go all out in Beast Was nostalgia I would buy all the toys.
Transmetal cheetor was my first Transformers toy. I also have fond memories playing with the fox kids repaint of the original toy.
his character is well fleshed out, he became more mature as the series progressed.
"Beast flesh and Transformer metal fused at the cellular level." Pops up a lot in these Basics videos on Beast-Era characters. Like, the same exact wording. I'm not complaining. I just thought it was amusing.
I love best era continuity
On my homepage, it said Diamondbolt viewers watch this, and I am not disappointed with what i have come across, good research and details!
Could you plz do the basics on Trypticon also great video
And Metroplex
Cheetor and Dinobot were my favorite and first Transformers I ever got.
Another forgotten character of the modern times, given attention by Chris. Great video.
I own animated cheetor, worth every penny
My first favourite character. Nicely done Chris.
Thanks for sponsoring him to make this episode!
Man, I'm so eager to see Cyberverse season 2 start. Please Hasbro, don't let Sky-Bite be just a toy and include him.
PS: Basics on Deathsaurus? (I would ask for Starscream, but I understand he requires a lot of work).
Amazing vid. Cheetor is my favourite Maximal. Could you do the basics of Starscream next?
Cheetor's Cyberverse adventures are pretty cool, and he also appeared in the War for Cybertron: Kingdom cartoon.
I hope there will be a Chromedome video
Recently Armada Cheetor was added as a skin for Cheetor, also a recolor of the transmetal skin
And for Megatron the Maximal T-Wrecks
I tweeted this to his voice actor.
HOORAY FOR CHEETOR!!!
favorite versions are beast war and spiritula leader
Great Vid, Chris
How about the Autobots Red Devil himself, Cliffjumper
Alex the Walking-Talking JoJo Referance yes! Glass gas cannon time!
Excellent video! But now I'm thinking about how rare and spread out new Beast Wars character toys are. One every 3 years isn't often enough!
Amazing vid Big Bot!
I feel like Cheetor will become my favorite character thanks to his evolving mind and thoughts, something that I want to see in future Transformers media.
Btw, a new Cheetor will be released next year
I'm honestly shocked at how well some of the animation of Beast Wars holds up. Like, yeah the models and textures are very 90s, and some of the more automated animations (like the transformations and some of the run cycles) are pretty clunky. But for the tech at the time, the facial expressions and character work in the animation is still great.
It's tough for me to decide which cheat are like more I'm going to have to go with the Generation 1 Shield appear in beast wars and Beast Machines mainly because he's just looks super cool and Beast Machines in my opinion
Great video as always other than the dad joke at the end lol
Keep up the good work. Would love a vid on one of the following villains: Straxus, Jhiaxus, Monstructor, or Thunderwing. Huge long standing fan of Transformers and the channel!
Why do all of the animated transformers remind me of an art style of Ben 10
Because they share the same art style
i love cheetor and learning he once was a recolor an such of my absolute favorite bot
i hope we get a blurr episode soon ^^
This year we got a Blurr episode
@@lmiche329 I know! I saw it and still love it! ^^
thanks to the patron for getting Chris to do this episode.
Thank you Chris for all the hard work you do.
I love Cheetor. I have never seen him as a Bumblebee allegory. I've always seem him as Hot rod to Rodimus. I've said for years that cheetor ages well. From Beast Wars to Beast Machines we see the character grow up. Where as Hot Rod / Rodimus didn't really have time to grow up in G1. When Steve Megatron and I got to interview Ian James Corlett in 2010, I kinda gushed all about cheetor.
www.geekcastradio.com/interviews/interviews-ian-james-corlett/
Mike Blanchard Cheetor was a particular favourite character of mine so thought I’d try to get a basics on him.
@@florgeysteve awesome. Love cheetor
Brought the vintage Cheetor toy yesterday and its pretty good.
I always thought of Cheetor as the descendent version of Hotshot not Bubblebee
Hot Shot wasn't even a glimmer in the eyes of Hasbro toy designers when Beast Wars made its debut. Did you mean Hot Rod?
Had no idea who Cheetor was until now. Back when I was a kid, my grandfather got me the playskool Cheetor toy. It's interesting to finally know who he is!
