- Virtual Machines are a great way to dive into different operating systems and software that you don’t want to load on your own computer. Having an environment you can try new things in and not worry about messing things up permanently is a great feeling. During my journey into tech, Virtual Machines have been the best way to immerse myself into all different types of technologies.
This video goes through the steps of installing Proxmox a hypervisor for your virtual environment on an old device you may have laying around.
System Requirements:
- CPU: 64bit with Intel VT/AMD-V
- RAM: 1GB
- Hard Drive
- One NIC (network interface card)
Everything you will need for the install:
- Device that meets the requirements
- Another computer on the same network
- Ethernet Cable
- Flash drive with at least 2GB
- Know how to enter the BIOS for your specific device

I liked your presentation, but it would be helpful when you load the proxmox into the browser if you went full screen or at least zoomed it some for the visually challenged and or viewing on small form factor devices. Thanks...

Gd video but I need to know how to make sure the IP addresses at installation are correct, I only have a DHCP single public address with a Combo wireless & cable modem router

Epic Proxmox newb question here…it is possible to have a user sit in front of and physically plugged in directly with screen and input devices to the server and use a VM like it was a local machine, or is it only possible via logging in remotely?
Everyone starts somewhere and that is a great question. If I understand you correctly, you want to have a way to do everything on one device like host your Proxmox server, access Proxmox GUI, and access your VMs. If that is correct, yes that is possible. Just add a workstation to your Proxmox sever. pve.proxmox.com/wiki Developer_Workstations_with_Proxmox_VE_and_X11. I have not done this but I can learn and make a video on it this weekend.

@@darinwood_tech Your understanding of my question was absolutely correct regarding everything I wanted to potentially do on a Proxmox box and in my short cursory search of tutorial videos the solution has yet to be brought up so perhaps The Algorithm recommended your channel to me for a reason!
