Amazon believes AI is the most transformational technology of our time, capable of tackling some of humanity’s most challenging problems. That is why the company is investing in generative AI to responsibly develop and deploy large language models (LLMs) across all of its businesses. These advancements are part of Amazon’s long-term pursuit of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). Axios’ Ryan Heath and Amazon’s AGI VP, Vishal Sharma will discuss what today’s AI may imply for the future, the progress of LLMs towards the quest for AGI, and its’ potential to benefit society at large.

I love tech and AI, positive for the future. But hearing things like “the most expensive part of advertising is the creative side, now that’s free”, is quite soul crushing for a naturally arty, creative person like me, who doesn’t love aggressive, capitalistic ambition.
Ambitious, money driven people have been giving creatives a rough deal for eons, and now it’s gotten even worse. And what’s sad, is that many of the more business focussed people, simply have poor artistic judgment, and so everything is going get more ugly and arbitrary and middle of the road.
An AI trained on almost everything, is “mid” by definition, at least creatively and artistically speaking.
Don't worry, business oriented people are gonna be replaced by an Ai in the next 2-3 years. In the end, it is not matter of if but when.
