Thanks for making this, I just finished creating all of the unproduced Night Force characters as customs using Marauder Task Force figures, & this really shed some light on their history!
To speculation, Low-Light's molds were probably on loan to South America, since his Marauder's figure was reproduced there. Same with HeavyMetal/Rampage and Blaster by thecsame region. Surprisingly, Backstop's mold resurfaced for Static Line of SkyPatrol and his figure was more abundant as a single card in Europe.
I’m another who didn’t have immediate access to a TRU when these came out. I only found out about these when one of my senior classes went on a trip to a mall two counties over compete in some business thing. TRU was on same property and I snuck over during our lunch period to check it out and found the Night Whale and remnants of other NF toys, as they were being clearanced out. By the time I got paid again and sought out the next nearest TRU, they were sold out. I would have LOVED getting several of these redecoed vehicles, like I did Tiger Force and Python Patrol. I’d love to see these revisited for Classified, but with numerous exclusives blocking new stock, and solid cases instead of mixed, I’m not getting my hopes up. 🙄
Universal soldier had that van it almost looks like an alien type vehicle like a semi semi trailer. You could easily make one for Delta 17 and have it like medical bays or cryogenics. That would be though awesomeness type APC/semi trailer military vehicle plus you can throw some turret on the front and the back I love alien type vehicles, and I know everybody else does too
I often find night force is the most popular team that people know little about. I’ve had conversations and some say it’s their fav sub team then I mention Psyche out and they’re like “What? He’s on the team. When?” It’s often funny.
Thanks for the deep dive Ken. Also if they ever get to Backstop in Classified I am customizing it into the night force version. Being a Canadian its a must.
Never knew about the four characters that were originally slated for Night Force, before being substituted for others. Despite missing out on the original Night Force action figures and vehicles as a child, I was able to find a loose Night Force Crazy Legs at a local toy store near me a few years ago. Just need his accessories and file card to complete him.
This is excellent, Ken. Very well made 🙌 I got Dan’s book and as a file card collector was so happy to get the custom cardbacks created and to see that there were all these other figures planned. It’s too bad that Back Stop in particular didn’t get made because it’s a drastic improvement over his original figure colors.
Thank you. And agreed. I'd love that version of Backstop. I love the research Dan did to produce that chapter in his book, and was more than happy to tell the story in video form too.
We never got night force here as we dint get toys r us stores till 93. So I never really experience toys r us as a child but as a teenager I did but I getting sidetracked again… 😂 For me personally I have a thing for GIJoe subgroups like tiger force and marauders and I know for certain if I had toys r us and spot those two packs I certainly would want them. As a kid, I had a thing around 86 for the movie the Delta Force and in it you see alot night action and for me it got me excited for night operations for my figures now you can see why I would love to have this set as a child. Anyway great video ken like normal for Ken keep up great work buddy
Tbh we didn't have Toys R Us in my area until after this period as well, so I feel ya there. Most of my TRU memories are 90s Joes, Power Rangers and Beast Wars.
I suppose the molds for Low-Light and Blaster were available in Brazil between 1988-1990 since we got Low Light v.1, v.2, and Battleforce 2000 figures during that period.
It seems that Hasbro outsourced the production of Slaughter Marauders to Estrela, as we were able to get almost all v1 of the team members in 1988. One clue is that the Mutt doesn't have a badge in v2. The same thing happened to Estrela's v1.
@ToyKennections I seen a night force outback at heros con a few years ago. It had $85 on it. I asked the guy what kind deal he could make he said 160 I was like what. The 1 at the beginning was almost not there lol. I apologized for bothering him and left
@@hillbillyharper4008 I've had similar weird interactions. I once walked into a store, saw a price for a 2-pack... I offered 80% of the price of the pair just for the 1 figure I needed and asked the owner if he'd make the deal and he gave me attitude. Asked for over 100% of his ask price for the 1 figure and walked off. Needless to say, they're no longer in business. 🤔
There was a female member named FREESTYLE. A woman born in Queens (NYC). She was born of Dominican descent. She was the pilot of the Night Boomer (Skystriker).
When Classified revisits Low-Light, I’d actually rather they give us Night Force to Marauders.
unfortunately we are getting marauders. and hasbro is really getting into 2 packs.
My favourite unproduced figures are Lowlight and Blaster.
They would have been good additions

Excellent! Much love for Marauder here.

Awesome as always Ken!

Makes sense. I was wondering myself how some of these parts resurfaced for other releases.

Night Force has such a "cool" aspect to it that is just fun in itself
100% 🤜🤛

Solid presentation, Ken.
Thx Allison!
I love all the sub teams.

Interestingly. After I produced this video I had a total brainfart moment where I asked some friends "wait, Outback was in Night Force?" 🤣

Great job on the video. Cool to see all of those memos and re-creation efforts by everyone - Ron.
Thx Ron!
Who doesn’t love Sneak Peek? He reminds me of Mechaneck. 🥳
Yup, they both are used for reconaissance duties. I can totally see it.
This video is great and very informative! Excellent work Ken!
Thx man. Took a bit of time to research.
Great video Ken!

Great write up! Going to share this over on the 'Port!
Thank you! I always appreciate this, Erick
Very nice details about those figures man... I will make me a custom Backstop night force figure since it looks so cool.😀💡👍👏
Awesome video!!! Night force is great, wish I could get my hands on the Killer Whale!! 😘👍
Same. I like the look of that vehicle in NF colours!
Nicely done! Wish they had made these!!
Same! Maybe someday.
When does the red o commie go on sale
Love this video would have like to have seen more Night Force figures
Same. It was a great subteam.
Night forces is bad ass bro

I love the slugger I pray they do that vehicle in classified that would be freaking cool in night force
Well done
Crash 🤜🤛
i need these! another great video. you just keep umping them out
Thank you Bart. Plenty more videos coming!
I was completely unaware of Night Force until the Internet. The closest Toys R Us was a half hour drive so i rarely got to go.
And now ya know... and knowing is... 😎

Someone did a custom Night Force Mauler that looked amazing. I have the Night Striker 100 precent complete that took forever to complete on eBay.

My joe experience came from toys r us is from spy troops era however I did get some stuff from 94 but it was such small amount
It’s a shame the night force low-light never got released, low-light is a shoe-in for this group.
ohhhhh very nice!
🍻
Psyche out looks way better as a Night Force member
Night forced improved wacked colors

Growing up I never knew night force was a thing to I started collecting again a few years back
Yeah I myself got into it closer to 5 years ago.

Great review my friend 👍. So maybe now thats why Hasbro keeps releasing night force.
Glad you enjoyed the video my friend.
I wish there was a night force ace sgt slaughter cutter
How was low lights mold not available for night force but was for marauders?
I wondered myself. Maybe diff factories had diff molds available.
Now Delta17 can give us better vehicles then Hasbro.
Well we could get these in classified eventually being they are doing night force now
That's a good point. I didn't even think of that!

So why have a fighter jet, with no pilot?
