If you feel like saving time grind the plug welds down smooth with the o/d of the frame. Then burn the weld out with an air-arc using your stick welder and round 1/4” diameter carbon arc rods. The heat from the air-arc causes the tubing to expand when your burning into the plug weld and your able to see the outline of the separation between the slug and frame the instant you’ve burned thru. The expansion from the heat most times is enough that the inner slug piece falls out without having to get crazy with a punch or drift and hammer. Anyway,great work and great video.

I’m glad I’m not the only trying to save these clapped out, badly misused old frames. It’s criminal what people did to them back in the day.
