Used to do a lot of barbel fishing in the dark in the summer and with the white light on it attracted clouds of midges and they kept flying into your face, eyes and up your nose. If you use the red light when baiting up and fiddling round in your box then it doesn’t attract them.
Fantastic light the only thing Ive found over the years is the batteries charge better in a separate charger rather than in the light it's self. Good review 👍
Hi mate, I am not actually wearing waders I just have my Vass 175 winter lined bib and brace on. They may look like waders as I have them tucked in to my wellies to avoid them getting caught in the bike gears, I also tuck them in to stop the bottoms getting covered in mud so it doesn't get all over my socks when I take them off lol. I do own a pair of Vass 740 supernova pvc waders with mega studs. Excellent waders!
@@markmoorman thanks for the feedback. Great to hear. Its ultra bright just don't get lured in to using turbo mode all night because its so nice lol. My favourite things about it are how white the light is, great for lighting up night time fish pics and how comfortable and easy to wear it is. Also looks the biz.
@@Bulldog2108 I hear ya fella, I'm actually quite tame with headtorches, I like just enough light to see what I need so am very stingy to make the battery last lol From what you're saying and your review it should be perfect for me. Have tested it in my dank and dark hallway and seems great going through the settings... Just need that final beach test... Not so much for the torch... But for my sanity! Ha ha. Cheers mate.
@@markmoorman i feel so sorry for those that simply can't get to the sea to fish at the moment. Its driven me to insanity but at least I've made it to the water a few times! Sounds like you use it the same way I do. Im never stingy but like you say i just use the appropriate amount of light for the task at hand and it has over and above the amount needed for the vast majority of session! Fingers crossed you'll be on the beach soon!
Hi there. According to the specifications it says 6 hours, and going by my tests I would absolutely not doubt those numbers. After that it will begin the drop down through the brightness levels. Cheers
Hi Frank, the only thing I would have preferred is a more concentrated spot on the main beam, but you cant have it all lol. I have a video on the HP25R v2.0 coming out in the next few days too. So keep an eye out for that
Bough one but not happy at all on the spotlight mode suposed to last 22 hours on 400 lumens lasted 4 hours totally not happy and yes battery fully charged am sending it back ,Not true on box of how long light lasts ,it ran out while I was lug bashing not happy
That strange I have just bought it and the box says 6 hours at 400 lumens. I buy my headlights for ultra marathons and look for the longest and brightest but have never seen a 400 lumen lamp that lasts 22 hours (with virtually no drop in strength like this)
@@richt3993 yes mate the ho35r says on Box 800 lumens 11 hours o phoned fenix and no mate the light after 3 hours steps down to 400 lumens same with the rest of the times on the box you have to read the manual for true times and outputs or go on fenix website

Awesome, another great use for the red light. Midges are not something I ever really have to worry about by the Bristol channel..thanks mate
Brought one myself after your advice! Awesome piece of kit! Can’t wait to get out and use it!
Awesome Jon. Let me know what you think of it once you've had a proper go with it! Tight lines!
Cheers mate cracking review just ordered one now to replace my nightcore hc65 think this will better for what I'm after 🤙

Thanks mate, will have to give the batteries a whirl in a separate charger 🔌 then.
thats the thing with all headlamps they are constructed not to charge to 100perc..
got some of that tronixpro blaze line to try 17lb
Nice Pete. Let me know how you get on with it

Haha sorry mark. Let me know what you think
@@Bulldog2108 Initial thoughts... Fantastic... Yet to try it on the beach of course so will have to wait and see but I'm expecting it to be fine. ;)

How long does the battery last at say 400 lumens? Does it gradually decrease to 130 and then to lowest in under an hour?

How does it compare to your HP25R?
Hi. Love the vidz. one question. Is it continuous run time, Thanks.
What reels you using mate? Are they fathom 15? Tight lines bud! 🐟🎏
Yeah that's them mate. Great reels
@@Bulldog2108 yes they are mate. Can't wait for the next video 👍
good review
Thank you Keith. Much better to see it in action than just reading the specs on a website

Hi m8 what do you think of that tronixpro line compared to f1 line thanks
Nice head lamp. Sadly too far from the sea to cycle. 😔
That is a shame mate. Fingers crossed it won't be long now!!
