Unless your name is 'Dante' and you're up for a pretty big challenge, I don't think anyone would want a ticket to ride _this_ train. Still a pretty cool song, though, and I hope you enjoy my rendition thereof! - J 😎
I'm curious. Since the author of the poem is Anonymous, does that make this song "public domain"? Or did Berry own the music? This is a cool tune, though.
Berry wrote the music and adapted the lyrics (some of his are a little different; in the original, it was a 'cowboy', not a 'stranger', and he left out a whole massive speech by the Devil, too). I've further adapted things by writing my own arrangement of the song, and adding in a brain-destroying crackle along with the train whistle (that last bit was unintentional, and I don't actually know why it's there, as it's not in my original files, but it's cool, too, although I may in future release a version _without_ that feature).
In summary: the original poem is public domain (it's old enough now, even if the author was known), but the song based on that poem is still under copyright protection. You could probably do your own musical interpretation of the poem and, provided it was different enough musically (and you don't take Berry's lyric changes) you wouldn't face any serious issues. Interestingly, George Thorogood and the Destroyers did a version of this song as well, and they used the original poem's title, _Hellbound Train_ for their cover of Chuck's song, instead of Berry's.
Those crackles with the train whistle are _scratching at my brainnn!!!_ And not like in a good way, but I guess that's kinds the point? Like you *don't* wanna hear it, cuz it hurts or smth, cuz its the Devil's train? Its cool anyway, and kinda of neat like that, tho it's not rly my thing
I'm glad you liked it, and I'm sorry for your brain being all scratched up badly. I have no idea _why_ those crackles are in there, as they aren't in the source audio *or* video, yet they appear now, up on UA-cam. You're not alone in noting it, and I agree with you, I think it works in an odd unintentional kind of way, though I may also upload a 'whistle-free' rendition at some point, and perhaps it will also be 'crackle-free' at that time, too. Thanks for liking this, anyway!
@@TheOneAndOnlyJesseGibson Wait, so you have _two things_ happen in _two different_ vids and you _don't_ think its kinds weird? idk dude, but that kinda of freaks me out a little
@@asmrsoftie I suppose I've mostly felt that spirits are helpful and nice, rather than hurtful and malicious, so when things happen that might be strange, I usually look on it more positively than anything else, and as such, don't tend to become freaked out by it. Frustrated, on the other hand, is easily possible, as sometimes what strange things happen might be more like interference with what I'm attempting, in which case I usually have words with whomever is doing whatever it is they're doing, so that I can either hear from them to understand what's happening, or they can realize that what they're doing is unhelpful and stop. Either way, I don't usually take it as a bad thing, so I don't worry about it. Thanks for the concern, though!
I didn't put anything except the train whistle in, and there's no crackling in the original audio (or video, for that matter), so I'm not sure where it came from, or why it's there. You're not the only one to comment on that here, and I can also hear it clearly, too, but it _does_ seem to work, in a strange sort of way. Maybe I'll upload a version _without_ the train whistle at some point, just to have an alternative that _doesn't_ crackle like that. I'm glad you liked it anyway, thanks!

@@TheOneAndOnlyJesseGibson Thats prolly a rly good way to look at it
I just get freaked and try to hide under the blankets, lol ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 😂
Did you add fire sounds into the train whistles? They crackle like it.
I like this, I think you've done a good job, but the crackling made me wonder.

So this _isn't_ going to Disney World, correct?
