    I’m posting another comment to say that I wore that scarf today and so many people LOVED it. I’ve been asked to make several. They even want to pay me for them. Crochet isn’t really lucrative, the time it takes and the cost of certain materials drastically outweighs the project, but heck, I love to do it and I love making people happy. So, thank you so very much for posting this pattern. I’m a subscriber for life.

    This was the second thing I have ever crocheted and I cannot believe how well it has turned out! I've been trying to crochet for a couple of years and never found someone who explains things so clearly both verbally and visually! Thank you so much 🤍

    Thank you SO much! It looks so good I was able to whip this up in three days as a last minute gift, I prefer the rounded hood as well and your instructions made a ton of sense.

    Omg. I made this with 5.5 grey and black with a border. I went with 70 chains for the scarf and it came out GORGEOUS!! it was stiff but I washed it and threw it in the dryer. So soft!!!!! Thank you for this simple but classy pattern!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

    I loved your combining a chain row that has to be double crocheted into to a single row of chain and double crochet. I’ve never seen that before. I hate crocheting into a chain. Is it possible to just make that combined row and skip the long chain row?

    • @VivCrochets
      @VivCrochets  11 днів тому

      Yes! You can substitute it in as your foundation chain and first row for pretty much any pattern

  • @carolmurray5794
    @carolmurray5794 5 днів тому +1

    You forgot to show us where/how to reattach the cream yarn after cutting it when starting the shawl part. Otherwise its a great tutorial. I found out I cannot make a pretty foundation chain so I cheated. I made a chain then dc’d in it, hiding the yarn ends of the chain in the next row. Looks better and matches the first side that way. Pretty hooded scarf! Thank you so very much for this tutorial!!

    • @VivCrochets
      @VivCrochets  5 днів тому +1

      Thank you!! And it’s the same as changing colors as the end of row 2, so I didn’t think I needed to show it again but I should’ve mentioned that

      I just rewound the video back. I also didn’t think I’d be able to do the foundation chain, but I practiced a bit and it turned out great. Don’t give up!!! Keep trying. This scarf turned out great for me!!

    Would the scarf become warmer if I used half double crochet instead of double crochet. Because half double crochet makes tighter patterns?

    • @VivCrochets
      @VivCrochets  10 днів тому +1

      You can still do double crochets, but use a smaller hook! Doing half double crochets will change the shape of the hood

  • @oliviadavid-pd9qq
    @oliviadavid-pd9qq 10 днів тому +1

    How do we do the straight part of the front portion of the hood ,if we aren't opting for the scarf portion?

    • @VivCrochets
      @VivCrochets  10 днів тому

      Just keep doing the regular rows instead of starting the scarf!
