Lord Atkin (1867-1944) is most famous for his speech in Donoghue v Stevenson (1932) and his powerful dissent in the wartime case of Liversidge v Anderson (1942).
The Hon Justice Peter Applegarth graduated from The University of Queensland with Bachelor of Arts (1978) and Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) (1980). While at University he commenced a long period of service as an Executive Member of the Queensland Council for Civil Liberties (1978-2008).
