You guys are awesome. As an american sami descendant, whose culture was hidden from our family, I really enjoy learning about the culture and hearing the yoik. My sami ancestors fled sweden as the the residential schools started. Once seeing how the native americans were treated they just pretended to be swedosh even thpugh they couldnt speak the swedosh language. I was the first to weasel out the truth. My great grandma always got mad when I asked if she spoke swedish. She finally admitted that they never did, their language was almost dead when they left. I looked up dead/ dying languages in sweden and finally got the truth. So sad my family was too scared to pass it on.
