Rodney is one of our favorite musicians & has been since the 70’s, I named my little red Datsun “Rodney Red Car”, because we loved Rodney. Fortunately we’ve seen him live several times, we love RC!❤
Rodney Crowell - he took the best from the hell, fire and brimstone church of his mother and the honky-tonk music of his father, marinated it all in deep love and soul and created songs of truth and experience to lighten our lives. Bless you, Rodney Crowell!
This man knows diverse melody. Writes great lyrics of the best you eill ever hear. When i write & play guitar & sing I always feel like I am connecting with him.
I'm from a little place in Australia called Cardigan Village and that's about as far from Texas as you can get but Rodney Crowells talent crosses the oceans
I heard Rodney do this at Anyone's in Austin ten years ago. Steuart Smith was on Guitar and it became an ethereal out of body experience for me. No artist has ever touched my soul like Rodney does.
I saw Rodney with Steuart at the Great American Music Hall in SF and that night - everyone in the room could feel that ethereal high....after a solo by Steuart even Rodney dropped his jaw, tilted his head, and said "chills man...you just gave me chills"....
I got this album from my brother after he passed in 2005. i heard it every saturday night for years before he past. I am now having to get a new CD because i have wore it out.
Rodney I got lucky to see you in Dublin six times over the years and with such wonderful band mates like will kimbrough etc you are a brilliant Houston star as was mickey Newbury í love you mate
This is a good video from the best album of the last decade. I have seen Rodney 7 or 8 times in the last 10 years. He is a great performer and a genuinely nice guy!
Just buried my Grandma not far from there in February. Yep hot as hell and humid. Wayside and Lawndale. Actually got a little sun burned. RIP GMA and thanks Rodney for the beautiful song.
Real roots music. Thank you to my Dad, the rock of my soul for introducing me to the heartfelt soul music of Rodney Crowell. This video is perfect. Thanks to TheLastPixelShow for uploading this
Keeps knocking em outta the ballpark our John.. Listen to em all.. Love so many to bits.. And this fella.. Words fail me.. Wasn't expected /comin on down the pitch.

After a lot of procrastination I finally got around to purchasing the Chinaberry Sidewalks e-book - a good 'read' (amazing what ears can do, heh heh...), gotta cue it up again soon; now, I know this song is the book in miniature, but I'm stumped - 'seven long years sure went by slow...) - he was locked up briefly on a scofflaw charge, but not that long. I didn't hear that in the book. Artistic license, maybe? No disrespect, I'd really like to know.
No, you're not alone. I'm younger, but telephone road allways reminds me of my early childhood summers when my parents would dump me off on the Grandparents in Pasedena with my cousins. Frenchy's though..over-rated..I live in 3rd ward now, and you should go to #1 on Alabama and Blodgett for your 3rd ward chicken nowadays...or Alfreda's if you want the Soul Food.

Rodney can tell a story like few others can.Don't know if it was your mama or the church or your daddy, but you turned out ok.
Classic Good church girl chooses the bad boy.
Not many of the churches back in the 60's had air conditioning.
You favor your daddy
I like Rodney so much I mostly tolerate the politics
