    I'm not convinced double board PLO has staying power.....it's hard to scoop and uncertainty prevails.....I like the idea of 5 card...one flop, one turn, two rivers.

    Not cash but I took a shot a few years ago in some 300 dollar tourney. At that time that was basically the last of my paycheck but I wanted to play and knew I could hold out a few days if I lost. Can't remember the exact hand but I do remember I flopped top two. C-bet and got raised by a player in LP. I decided to ship the rest as we were near the money and he was a bit splashy. Top prize was a few thousand bucks and I would've been chip leader. Board came out runner runner for a flush draw and he didn't even realize (he called with just two overs) it until someone else also pointed it out. Guy just cackled as he knocked me out. Yeah I drove home a lil mad that evening lol.

    the biggest pot ive ever lost was in a PLO game i shouldnt have been playing
    i had a752 single suited, w nut spades. i flatted a raise in a 5 way preflop and flopped two pair and the nut flush draw on 574, and the original pfr had 68QJ or something. i checkraised his potsized lead that got called a couple times, and then he repotted, i put the rest of my stack in too. about a $4k pot. he offered me an equity chop on the turn when i turned 3 pair. so sick. i declined the equity chop and got scooped

    • @DonkFishPoker
      @DonkFishPoker  Рік тому

      Having a suited A is great but you really want to play hands with multiple components. A752 is a fold imo, I might only call with it on the button but even then it’s not great. It’s actually a better hi/low hand.
      Regardless, after that flop, it’s a tough spot. That’s kind of what happens with those hands, even when you flop a monster you’re still behind. That is pretty sick though. Hopefully next time you’ll run better.

    If the guy who quartered you turned over his cards before knowing what he had, it’s the dealer’s job to figure out the winners and the amounts. If he hid his cards from all but his neighbors and one of the pointed out that had the flush, then that neighbor interfered and should have paid a home game penalty, say $100 to the guy who lost out before of the help he gave the winner with reading his hand.

    • @DonkFishPoker

    "Accidental" slow rolls are a constant in our games, especially in Bomb pots.. Players get way to focused on the side the have locked up, or the primary draw and frequently miss backing into something. Its uber frustrating.. I advocate for rolling your hand over immediately at showdown for everyone.. nothing worse than watching opponent search for a winner in their hand.. especially when they find it 2 minutes later.

    I was playing 1/2 no limit in Las Vegas and the board ran out with four clubs. The guy next to me shows the ace of clubs and I turned over my hand, pocket queens, with the queen of clubs, and said “dang it I don’t think I’m good enough” however, the dealer was wise and saw that the board was 9♣️T♣️J♣️K♣️ (and ironically Q♥️) so….. oops. I totally missed it and slowrolled by accident.

    I had a guy muck his cards and walk away from a multiway all in after I tabled my hand. While the dealer is taking his sweet time figuring out how much the other guy owes, probably about 2 minutes, the original guy comes back to the table and says he accidentally mucked the winner. The floor of course was called and they ruled that since his cards were the top cards in the muck pile, they pulled them out of the muck and gave him the pot. I think the dealer apologized to me about ten times

    $5 ante DBBP only, I was never on the losing end of the pot because I folded trash for about 2 hours straight, however, I watched the guy immediately next to me turn $200 into about $1800 over those 2 hours where basically every pot he "won", someone had to point out his back cards that made him scoop or 3/4 or whatever, the guy wasn't a kind ignorant person about it either, he would almost get annoyed I guess because he was embarrassed that it kept happening, but went on an insane run then cashed out and left lol
