wow...new subscriber - what a find!!! I was born at Lake Five and lived there til i went to school in Whitefish....a few years back i moved to Hungry Horse. I know all those places you are going, recognize the roads. WHAT A BREATH OF FRESH AIR!! My dad and brother drowned in the Hungry Horse Dam in 1964. All those places you are going, i used to go along with my dad in his truck....and my grandpa and dad helped build the reservoir & blankenship bridge. Thank you for this touch of home!! I love this neck of the woods in Montana...but i came to Alaska and Alaska has ocean and I've never left. So many memories in that northwest corner of Montana. Thank you so much!
Again, great video and I like the mix of talking/ASMR I've had plenty of moments where I've gotten emotional like you, when I've arrived at a scenic place that just makes me grateful and happy. Thanks for the inspiring content!
To describe your feeling, it’s unreal and serene to see the beauty that we have around us. It’s blessing to be able to see it! Awesome video thanks for sharing the adventure and it looks like I need to get up to Montana and adventure around!
Well said - It's sad that not many will ever get to experience or be able to appreciate the beauty this world offers. Appreciate the support and watch!
Montana is truly a beautiful state. I retired in early 2023, took a month to build out a simple truck bed camper. Took my maiden voyage from up state NY to Glacier NP early June. Stopping at as many NP or forests as i could. A solo trip about 3 weeks in length. Camped in and out of the glacier park, the majority of the spots were picture perfect. So far, it is my best camp trip to date. Can't wait to return then maybe head up north to the Banff area. Thanks for bringing us along on your trip. Looks like you had a great time.
You wouldn't even imagine where ive had my F350 99 PS,been on a lot of full sends for years.Parked on top of heli pads in ID.Some crazy deep snow on my varies hunting trips, chains all for.Yeh Ive been stuck for days. Also recovered probably 100 rigs over Time. One a guy was in his topper -10 no heat, that was in centennials
Montana looks so beautiful, I'm so glad I found your channel, your videos are so calming and I love seeing all the scenery. That indescribable beauty you mention is definitely transmitted in your videos.
Absolutely stunning videography and equally good drone shots...also you have a awesome rig with the best yawnings and other camping gear...loved it...much love from india
It's us adventurers that are glad YOU take us along. I was along that route you took last summer. I was astounded by the incredible amount of insect or disease damage along "43". Long stretches where everything was dead. Incredible! A lot of tinder for a fire to start too. Oh, by the way, there is NO bad time to take a trip. Especially in Montana. Looking forward to you posting any trip!
Truly appreciate this comment Tim!!! And yes, the beetle kill in some parts of the states is absolutely insane. We need really cold winters to help kill em off and sadly the last few haven’t been that extreme. One lighting strike and the whole thing goes up like crazy.
Montana is great, have many memories while in Montana. Traveling by motorcycle, going skiing at Whitefish, Bozeman, and Red Lodge. Going to Glacier and riding The Going to the Sun road.
Thanks for another great video. Started following along a while back and am looking forward to more of your adventures. It’s making me want to visit Montana one day haha.
GREAT video. I am just a couple miles east of Missoula. We have 5 drivers that run surburbans all pretty well set up for off-roading and Overlanding. We would be happy to drive with you anytime you want. We camp every month of the year. Best time is winter camping
@@hunter_pauley That would be awesome. We run a lot of older rigs and have a lot of fun and enjoy the adventures. We had Cappy and his group from 410 expeditions meet us by Seeley lake for a meet up a few years ago and had a great time. I also am known as Big Sky Overlanding. I have not done much with it for the last few years but am trying to restart.
Love the rig. The lights are 🔥 I’m heading to glacier this summer. Last week of July. Any recc of trails to check out ? I’m driving from sc with another gladiator
Thank you! Take the loop up to Polebridge and get a huckleberry bear claw. Lots of camping up and around that direction as well with very scenic views.
That looks like a great place, and a great overland set up. A question though. Do you have an opinion as to whether starting with a pickup truck or a full size suv as the basis for an overland set up is better? I've been considering a 2025 F150 Tremor next year and after market doing a level/lift, bigger 35 tires, a bit more poke, but I've also been considering maybe a 2025 GMC Yukon AT4, and either just keeping that as is, or doing a PAX Jackal after market suspension change and lift also with larger 35 tires. And then adding the tent and other stuff to whichever I do. Any thoughts? I'm looking for my luxury interior, go anywhere, anytime, any kind of whether vehicle that I could also use as a part time overland set up. And on a second matter, does using a pop up tent and sleeping so high up off the ground above the vehicle give you significant peace of mind about bears or other things wandering into your campsite versus being in a regular tent on the ground somewhere near the vehicle? I've been wondering whether a pop up is really necessary, or if it is really that much better?
I think it really depends on your needs AND how many people will be traveling. For just me and a plus one occasionally, the Tacoma is perfect. It's also great for tighter trails where I know a full size could not fit as easily. Most mid size trucks will not have that "luxury interior" unless you go with the very top of the end model and even then, likely might not be what you're seeking. If I ever add another truck, I will go full size and do a slide in. It would be more for mild off roading, forest roads, etc. I have no concerns about the pop up tent and bears. Being that high off the ground I would hear them before they were even close to approaching into the tent if the could. Having the pass through is a dream as well!
Oh I bet there is! I was semi surprised how far I made it up Lost Horse. Likely could have made it a tad bit further but wasn’t worth it. Another few weeks and it should be much better!
@hunter_pauley curious how you like those blue sumo springs? I have deaver stage 3 on my truck and was thinking about these to support when me and wife, dogs are sleeping in back.
What weather app do you use? I find that the apple weather app is wrong an insane amount of the time for rain/snow sometimes even temperature as it’s happening
I have a free radar app that I will switch between. OnX Offroad also just did an update where you can see weather for the mountains which has actually been pretty accurate.
