- Luanne Livermore, RN, BSN giving her metrology review. This session is on calculating the maintenance fluid requirements for various sized infants and children.
IT IS 2020 and I am currently a nursing student who received a million explanations from classmates to instructors and it just would not stick! I decided I must learn this and went into youtube and in the search engine wrote" pediatric fluid" instantly saw the year of this video but dosage calculation don't discriminate how many years ago lol saw this and you are heaven sent I will now share your video with my other classmates or better yet explain it myself so that it can stick ...THANK YOU SOOOO MUCHHH
9 years later your video is still super helpful
Thank you so much for this. You made this so simple and easy to retain!
Great explanation! I am about to take pediatrics but the practice paper says to add 100ml+50ml to the solution, without any other explanation. This NOW completely makes sense!! Thank you!!

Nice. Thanks
please tell about 80 percent maintenance for above(video) all kgs
From Luanne Livermore: The person asking would like to know how to calculate 80% of the normal requirements for patients that need fluid restriction such as those in heart failure or with kidney issues. It is really very simple. You calculate the normal maintenance volume and then multiply by 0.8 to get the answer.
thank you!!! it just needs to be updated i think now 20.1 - 70kg is 20ml and anything above 70.1 kg is 2500/day
best one
Excellent
Glad it was a value to you!
Thaaaaaaank you
Respected madam,
i love u thank u
Tooo good 👌👌👌👌👌💯💯💯💯💯
wow
The last one you did is wrong. The one based on the weight of 57.3kg. The total volume is 2246ml and the infusion rate per hour is 94ml/h
27.3 x 20 = 546
total= 2246 ÷24= 94
you are right
dope
I still don't get it.
Saved my ass
