Holy shit I'm more impressed with the WRX. Total underdog in that fight. Hellcat is still gorgeous but everyone kind of already expects that from it.
A properly built WRX can easily take on a Hellcat. The AWD is big on the drag strip and it is much lighter. I'd say around 450hp on a WRX done right could easily keep up with a Hellcat in the Quarter. It would be nice to know what was under the hood of the Subaru.

how much money under hood for wrx???
Probably 10-15k.. more if he paid for all the labor.. My STI is a little over 500whp and i put about 17K in (most came from the larger turbo supporting mods so the car can handle the power, second was the tranny and clutch upgrade).. Got my Garrett gtx3576r used in great condition for under 1k. I did a lot of the work and had a friend who works at Cobb help with tuning and other things. I have smoked Hellcats, so I guessing this WRX is in the 400hp area. You gotta remember the WRX is FAR lighter than the Hellcat and is AWD, so you obviously do not need to match HP to beat it. Comes down to driver skill as well.

It probably has somewhere around 380-400whp to trap 120 in quarter. Doable without a built engine with an ej205 if running meth injection or ethanol to keep her from scattering

At this point, it doesnt really matter.. The STI is a WRX just with a few additional upgrades. I can guarantee you this WRX is better than any stock STI with better upgrades and performance lol.. I am sure a WRX keeping up with a Hellcat has been upgraded well past an STI in almost every area lol
Mike Harkins people who know literally nothing about WRX's can never understand what you just said. it used to piss me off getting asked why I got a wrx instead of an sti. if I wanted a to keep my car stock, then yeah sti would have been the move.
Yeah I hate that too. I have a 2003 wrx. If you want a car to mod wrx is way better because you can get one for like 5k compared to like 20k for a sti.
Stis have shit engines. Cylinder 4 ringland failures are wayyy too common on the ej257. I'll run a modded stock long block ej205 over a modded stock ej257 any day of the week. This is speaking from experience.
@@eflem7708 also the fa20 engine from the wrx are actually faster than the sti from 0-60 and 1/4 mile also it’s dual injection rather than port injection like the ej which means u get more out of stage 1 and 2 rather than the sti

Dude, it's 6,000 feet above sea level........air is pretty thin up there. At sea level, no, a Hellcat does not run in the 12s but that WRX probably doesn't either
You're right, they run low 11's, but keep in mind this is at high elevation.

However you're correct turbo has a major advantage over superchargers at altitude, and in general (lol)

But if the Subaru was the Sti and it was moded all the way to the max and Nitrous was added and remove all the extra weigth and add a turbo and a supercharger and believe really believe with the eyes closed that it will not be in the Demon's rear view when racing then you guys think its possible to win any race ? please say yes .

A 350hp subaru w a good driver has a better hp and tq to weight. Therefore its physically impossible that w equally skilled drivers the hellcat wins. The sti has god gears. Also people say its the fastest because its held the fastest 4 door nurburgring time since it came out.
Not to mention you could buy and build a 1000 hp subaru for less than the cost of a hellcat. Its just not a good value car. Your paying 40gs for a motor.

Mike Harkins Welcome to drag racing. This is a DRAG RACING video on a *drag strip*. A stock Camaro SS, stock Mustang GT, and this Hellcat is much quicker than a stock Subaru STI in a 1/4 mile. This is a straight line performance video right?
You say cheaper? Of course this 2004-2006 WRX will be cheaper than a 2015+ Challenger Hellcat. If you want to say Subaru is cheaper than a American Muscle car compare a base 2017 WRX that cost 26k to a base 2017 Mustang V6 that cost 25k or the base 2016 Camaro I4 2.0 turbo that cost 25k. Or how about comparing a 2017 Subaru STI that cost 35k vs a 2017 Mustang GT that cost 33k or 2017 Camaro SS that cost 37k.
More durable? That depends on the owners. Many people have reliability issues with Subaru as well with Dodge, Ford and Chevy. As long as you do your maintenance as with any vehicle. It's all personal preference really.
You say Subaru has better handling? Pretty much all newer American Muscle cars handle great besides the Challenger and Charger. The Challenger has the same Chassis as the Charger which is a full size car. Not to mention they weigh 4,100+lbs. They are built like more of a comfortable cruiser than for handling. The new Camaro and the new Mustangs handle great though. Have you even looked at stock lap times for any of these vehicles including the Subaru?
