Hansen's Hunches ? Thanx 4 the update and analysis. Elder Keeney. It sounds good. Right! Development takes time and that equals patience. I get satisfaction out a report written two years ago after a loss and the reporter wrote about no penalties/no turnovers for BYU.
I like dose of the day too and I think you’re well known enough now to just say your name since you’ve been a reliable source of byu info since we started paying attention a few years ago and longer for sure
Anybody ever watch the old SNL skit “Deep Thoughts By Jack Handy?” I think Jeff should start the show with a few seconds of sounds of running water in a stream and name it “Deep Cougar thoughts with Jeff Hansen.”
Dude, you're a trooper. Kidney stones is something you'd wish on a Ute QB spouting his yapper at media days. I dunno I can't believe Kalani kept the game after that threat... the best qb in the country playing for the best football team in history.... hope they bring enough ambulances for my Cougs...😅 How 'bout "The Dose?" Feel better soon 😊
How about the usual update or the brief briefing or the car conversation or the BY Update or the give ‘em information Brigham or I’m gonna tell you stuff moment. I’ll keep thinking
Good rundown Jeff. One question though, where does Jake Retzlaff fit in to all this? Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t he highly sought after from JUCO? Is it possible that arod thinks of Retzlaff as the future and was forced to through him into action earlier than expected. I think the fan base has soured on him because of the loses but wasn’t the coaching staff very high on him when he signed with BYU?
He was the highest rated JUCO QB in his class…. Buuut, that doesn’t mean what it used to mean. He had a couple of offers from MWC schools and BYU, that was it.
@@rakoto101 gotcha! I might have my byu googgles on but I think arod knew he was coaching for his job and yet he decided not to go after a big time transfer qb. Maybe they couldn’t land one but I can’t help thinking Retzlaff is more talented than most are giving him credit for. I think he shocks this year
I think Watson is a player for sure. You never know off missions, but I think he's very good. Lugo will be interesting to see how he develops. He's got talent but he's really raw. He's far from field-ready right now.
I'm more on the pessimistic side when it comes to the QB situation. Bohanon is coming off a huge shoulder injury and hasn't played in a long time. Retzlaff could very well underperform again if forced into a situation due to Bohanon going down again or underperforming himself. At that point you're looking at Hillstead who was inconsistent at Utah State or another QB who hasn't played a snap in their college career
I still think the QB hole we are now is goes back to Jacob Conover flaming out. Had he hit, he's the guy last year and this year. But go back to 2020 class and start there. SJM is the 1 QB commit. 2021 Cade Fennegan. 2022- No QB! 2023--Ryder Burton (gone), Jake Retzlaff, Kedon Slovis. And here we are. That window of recruiting was piss poor. 2024 got better with Enoch Watson. Lugo not so sure there. Then GBo, Hillstead and Bourget to try to paper over the previous years gaping holes. That 2020-2023 high school QB recruiting was atrocious. Plus Conover a bust. So we're still another year away probably from fixing it. 2025 season could be in the same spot.
I don't think he'll get fired this year unless BYU regresses significantly and there doesn't appear to be a way to come back under his leadership. To me, that would be 3-9 or worse. I think if BYU goes 4-8 or 5-7 he stays for another year but is very much on the hot seat.
I'm just fine never seeing a one and done senior QB ever again.
How about Today’s Dose? You don’t have to be on stage every day. But Today you are giving a dose, maybe not tomorrow.

0:47 "Jeff is in the Jeep once again" new show name.
Jeff, very much enjoy your opinion and glad you’re back. Sorry about your stone experience. Painful is an understatement.
A Dose of Brigham, glad you're feeling better Jeff.

How 'bout "The Dose?"
Feel better soon 😊
Jeff Hansen’s BYU fix. Fix is a play on dose and sounds more aggressive and needful. You know like, I must have it!
How about the usual update or the brief briefing or the car conversation or the BY Update or the give ‘em information Brigham or I’m gonna tell you stuff moment. I’ll keep thinking
Thanks for doing this Jeff!
Glad you are on the mend!
Thanks Jeff! Keep the info coming!

What about Hillstead? I feel he is someone that could be really good. I have some high hopes for him. Just hope he can stay healthy.
Very good. I like him a ton to lead BYU in 25.
Too short.
We’re back for another episode of The Quick Fix.
They did sign Lugo and Watson. Do you see them with potential to develop into contributors?
I think Watson is a player for sure. You never know off missions, but I think he's very good. Lugo will be interesting to see how he develops. He's got talent but he's really raw. He's far from field-ready right now.
Ideas for show name "A Dose of BYU" "A Dose of Cougs" "Jeff Hansen on BYU" "Dose of Royal Blue"
How about "Give'm Dose"
Jeff Hansen’s “Whisper of the Plums”
The dose of the day

Roderick doesn't have until 2028 for Keeney to show up on campus assuming he serves a mission!
How about (The Cougar Minute) take a minute with me to get caught up on all your cougar news.
How about the "Chipmunk Cheek Chisme"?
There's your name for this series: "Jeff in the Jeep"!
Hansen’s higlights
Daily dose! Lean in to the irony. Us day ones know what’s up.
"High Potency Dose!" 😆
👍👍
“Brigham’s Brief”
Did Baylor Romney's choice to finish football early contribute to this situation as well?
Not really. Jacob Conover not developing and being the guy people hoped he'd be is what hurt.
That's the new name -- Jeff in the Jeep
just go with “the dose”
True blue

The Overdose?
You should call it intermittent fasting
Kalani will be fired if they don't go bowling this year. Accountability is the way.

The Non-Covid Dose; The Don't Get Dosed-Dose; The I Would Have Told You So Dose - If I'd Been Daily Dosing;
"Hey its Jeff Hansen the Cougar expert, coming to you straight from (your location), now lets get down to business"...there you go. youre welcome
