  • Days 3 & 4 on the circuit brought us from the elbow of Isaac Lake all the way to McLeary Lake. Day 3 was an absolute grunt, we covered 32 km, all on the same lake. While 32 km is a long distance, the scenery really helps to take your mind off the pain. Changing weather conditions also keep it interesting. Thankfully no head wind on this lake.... mighta killed me had there been one. You can see my paddling posture change from the beginning of the lake to the end, arms begging for a break. That night, we camped at the end of Isaac Lake which over looks The Chute and Roller Coaster, 2 well known sections of the Bowron Circuit. The next morning I took some drone shots of my Uncle and Mike heading down the first part of Isaac River, making sure to watch how it's done. Isaac River was a blast and a welcome break from the strenuous paddling we endured the day before. Day 4 was an easier day as it was broken up into cruises down the river and a few short portages. We stopped at an old trapper's cabin on McLeary Lake where we hung all our gear to dry and then hit the sack. It was the one place we felt real warmth on the entire circuit.
