The X-15 went mach 7 way back in the early 60's. Thats 60 years ago so i imagine something can go that fast or faster today.

Titanium TA6 double curvature skins can be manufactured by superplastic forming over a stainless steel mould tool at 1000 degrees Celsius in a sealed argon gas , so no need for fillers as described. Sandwich panels can be made from a diffusion bonding process. It's amazing material to work with.

Yep, it superplastically forms into double curvature like wet paper except without the wrinkles when done right. I worked with a company in Hertfordshire, England back in the mid 80's that had contracts from everywhere, including the Harrier nozzle panel segments in mnemonic alloy. That was hard to keep a uniform thickness after forming, one of my jobs at the time.

I guess stealth doesn’t matter if you can outrun the missiles they shoot at you! I would doubt the stealth material would hold up to the heat at Mach 10-20 anyway.

We can achieve much more than speed by using more advanced engines which are not depends on fuels we are currently using in present technology and I got thought it from JPL experimental research. 🤷

Hypersonic flight is easier at the edge of space where there's less air and much less kinetic heating of the skin. Re-entry can also be better controlled to avoid kinetic heat as well. That way maybe you can get the best of both worlds but long range rocket (non-air breathing) engines need to be developed.
