Music is definitely Ren's cheat code.

Teach over beats to all those that seek

But bleak was the place where I rose to my feet" - The Hunger

I think it’s definitely a grower. It’s a concept track designed to make us think rather than merely sing-a-long. It’s a great companion track to the Money Game series that looks at things from a more down to earth a relatable angle. I mean who doesn’t want to protect the younger generations from the harms money can create.

Someone finally took on the verb's consummation of the noun bar 👋 - well done Doc ! I actually like the track a lot and it definitely grows the more you listen, with more and more thoughts being provoked. I am glad Ren recognizes that the pressure he's faced has forged him into a diamond shining beside his sister. It's a welcome reassurance that the bitterness he carries and often references hasn't been allowed to define him in his own mind.
He seems to fully appreciate, but still battle with the reality that to have money as a tool with which to do good or create, you have to pursue it. In doing so, you pursue the same currency those seeking to misuse it pursue. This usually means jumping into the cess pool and learning to 'be with the stench' whilst you try not to swallow any and avoid getting dragged under by those drowning in it. And on that fragrant note ....

This was really interesting. Hearing Ren's, "Hi Ren", a couple of years ago, made me want to hear more of his work. As soon as I began to look for more, I was flooded with waves of phenomenal artistic genius. Needless to say, I quickly became a fan. Ren, is a different sort of human. He seems to be able to see the state of the world, without the filters and distractions that can blind us. Not only does he use his art to raise awareness of difficult topics, he uses his art to bring people together, no matter their usual choice of "genre". It opens up the doors to thoughtful, and meaningful communication, and understanding. ... I can't think of a better use of artistic expression.
Thank you, @Disco Doc . This was cool, and different. I enjoyed the commentaries, although I have to admit that I felt somewhat unsettled by the robotic voice patterning. It had me wondering if this is full-on AI, or someone typing thoughts into a computer program to have an avatar present them..
    Either way, pretty cool!
    Cheers!

I’ve definitely enjoyed this one more with each listen. It also helped when I focused on the lyrics. Ren really doubled down on this one.
But my favorite part is the section for his sister. Those verses nearly brought me to tears. Words of wisdom from a proud and loving big brother 💕 And it made the song feel even more personal.
It’s been fascinating watching the journey through the Kujo ordeal. Kujo Beat Down was powerful in a visceral rage fueled way. But this one allowed him to not only be more reflective of the impact of greed, but also collaborate with another producer who had been messed over by Kujo as well. I think that brought a lot of healing energy. And hopefully the final aspect of releasing the trauma of it all will be when he can re-release a new version of Sick Boi.
I’m just happy to see him able to create and roll out new music ✨

I think all of Ren's songs are impressive show-er/growers. There is always something that grabs me, the "show" part, like the concept, a particularly clever rhyme scheme, or a catchy melody. And then it starts growing. I discover layers, and rhyme schemes that were so clever I didn't fully catch them at first, or a play on words I missed. There are still chunks of his lyrics that I cannot understand (sometimes auditorily, sometimes meanings), then one day it hits me. I love the gradual unraveling of the details, as my understanding and appreciation for the song grows.

Love the Picasso part. It's a grower for me. Yes, maybe it's not immediate candy musically like some of Ren's others, but lyrically it IS very rich, and the music that supports but doesn't overwhelm the lyrics as star of the show is appropriate. And you brought the candy of the lyrics out so beautifully with your poetically deep picture-painting descriptions Doc which makes this candy as well. Well said.❤

Here is a dirty animal who was late because he had to work. There are symptoms of greed, but no one recognizes it in themselves, only in others. I'm not sure I don't remember the exact quote, and I'm not gonna go look it up, sorry. I believe it's one of the reasons that the church was supposed to take a vow of poverty. Helping to lead man into the spiritual realm as men tend to be more logical and based in life as it is.
