  • Miguel Nieto SL Warfare 9 fixed blade made with AN85 alloy and Bocote wood scales, full tang and full leather scabbard. A great stainless alloy. I put the Warfare 9 through the paces in both Europe and Australia where it got the tough cutting jobs on palms and hacking into hard seasoned Eucalyptus wood. The knife was comfortable in ungloved hands, and kept a good edge considering the bashing I did with it over almost a month of field usage. The knife cuts well, albeit due to the recurve type blade, it doesn't cut so well on the chopping board, not a big deal for a field knife unless maybe cutting up food in hut type situation and you might have a flat surface. The grind is hollow, which is generally better suited for cutting tasks as apposed to bashing away at things.
The spine edge is acute enough to strike a steel and the butt end is nicely rounded with a generous lanyard slot.
The tip is good at penetrative cuts and sinks in fast.
Although only about 4mm thick, it's not too heavy and the tip withstood my efforts to damage it by working it on hardwoods. It's not a chopper at 170mm in length due to the geometry and weight distribution but it is good at cutting tasks. I found it easy to use. Fully made in Spain. The Nieto Warfare 9 is guaranteed for life against faulty workmanship but like most guarantees, Not against owner abuse of products resulting in damage.

That is a very good looking recurve tanto. Every time I watch your videos it reminds me the difference in our areas.

Hi thanks. Yeah, it is amazing for sure. I have to ravel to your neck of the woods one day too as I have many friends (Canadian's) there that I haven't seen for almost 20 years now but still correspond with.

Bush Camping Tools well I can say this, you're welcome in my Western skag swamps any time if you ever make it as far as Alberta. Balsam fir, chaga or labrador tea on the house.

Bush Camping Tools actually this year I hit a trifecta, a massive haul of chaga, a stand of Balsam fir ten minutes from my house and a massive fatwood stump. All are very uncommon here and I had actually given up ever finding fatwood or chaga in my home province. The growing season and my domestic pines just do not seem to make fatwood like some other areas where the season is milder.

Hi, yeah I've often seen (not in Australia of course, well maybe only where there are imported birch growing) this "chaga fungus" but was unaware of it's uses.

Say Heah Joe, I have a similar knife to your Miguel Knife, Mine is made by CRKT, it's not as good as yours, But with the Chisel Grind, Serrated, It makes great curls and splits wood great because of the thickness, It's also made in the AUS8a. A real good tool for making fireboards, .. ,

No chance, it has a thinned down tip as it's design is for fast movements and penetration. It's not a chopper with this geometry. Thanks for watching.
