I am also 70 years old. And my middle name is Maria. My mother told me it was because of Maria Goretti. She was canonised only 3 years before my birth. Which was a miracle in itself as my mother and father could not conceive. I knew some of her story, but not all that was just told to me in this video. Thank you so much for this story of this Blessed Saint. I was recently diagnosed with a malignant tumor in my abdomen. It was removed on June 26 of this year. I pray and hope in Christ it doesn't return. When I was diagnosed I wept and could not forgive myself for my past sins. I thought my Sickness was my punishment. I finally realized my worst sin was not trusting in Christ grace and forgiveness. His suffering on the cross covers and gives mercy to us all. I needed to hear this message. In the fifth century, Saint Michael the Archangel appeared saying: “I am the Archangel Michael and I am always in the presence of God. The cavern is sacred to me, I have chosen it; I myself am its watchful custodian… [...] WHAT IS ASKED HERE IN PRAYER WILL BE GRANTED. I started this video while in class & had to close it halfway because I started full-out crying. Forgiveness is a grace that’s truly so great and powerful, exactly like the Lord. St. Maria Goretti, pray for our youth and their purity . I visited her home and church in Nettuno back in the summer of 1983. I feel so blessed having had that opportunity. My Nonna had a devotion and she wanted me to have the opportunity of visiting such a great saint. She is a great example of how God teaches us to be merciful and forgiving . I met Fr in a church in NY a few years back. He brought a lot of relics from the Vatican . That was such a blessing . Thank you so much Fr Martins.

Since the day I watched this video in tears, I have been praying Saint Goretti day and night. My surgery scars, which used to make me so sad, almost disappeared. They were scars which doctors told me that they will not improve their looks further. Holy Spirit can do anything if it is God will! Doctor doesn't have the final saying, God has! AMEN 🙏

I remembered how my mom told me when I was young that she didn’t want to name me Anamarija but Marie Goretta. I thought “ Marie Goretta?” I’ve never heard of a name like that before. Now I know that she wanted to name me after St. Maria. She named my brother “Mario” which is a Italian name. I’m so glad I finally got to hear this story.
Ive recently returned to the Catholic faith. Ive been feeling an unquenchable thirst for God that I could no longer ignore. Ive never adopted a payron Saint until two days ago. I choose St Maria Goretti as my patron saint because her feast day is on my birthday but more importantly I need to learn to forgive others but just as important learn to forgive myself. Seeing this video and the timing of its release leads me to believe and hope that others will become closer to God by becoming saints in there own lives. Your contagious faith and video content are always encouraging and thank you for being part of my ongoing return to a life in Christ.
This is such an intense and important film of a saint! It takes you into the past and makes you feel like you are there…living the moments of St. Maria Goretti. The film contains actual shots of Italy where Maria lived and died. The camera angles, shots and audio immerse you into the story. There is a filming phrase called ‘Hitchcockian‘(from the famous filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock). The camera angels make the viewer feel the emotions of anxiety and sometimes fear. This film has that! (i.e., Slowly walking up the steps to Maria’s room; a floor level shot of the door opening, etc.). I cried so hard watching this, I'm still crying. Thank you. ❤ So true, forgiveness of oneself is most important. From that flows forgiveness of others. And forgiveness of others is actually for ourselves, we must eventually let go of all that is in our hearts and minds and souls that is not love. Only then can we be free to be our true selves. BTW, I was raised Roman Catholic, educated by nuns. I made my first Communion at age 8. In preparation, we were told to invite Jesus to dwell in our hearts. I did, and felt the undeniable and unmistakable presence of Jesus in my heart. He is still with me ever since and forever. That same year, we watched a movie about Maria Goretti. I was moved, but your video affected me so deeply. Several years ago, I also asked Archangel Michael to help me and be with me. I felt him do so, and he has appeared very vividly to me while I sleep and totally transformed me. He is also with me always. I am very fortunate that martyrdom is not required of me, the fortitude of Maria Goretti is unique. It makes me especially grateful for, and appreciate, the long and happy life I have, and strengthens my resolve to be worthy of it. ❤

Awesome story. Awesome truth about forgiveness. To think the casted leg in this video was also healed with a miracle in the same way as the first construction worker. Along with the cancerous leg. When the video was made they needed to find someone with a crushed foot. They found someone, but not only someone, a devout believer and trusting young man, who also had his foot restored to perfection through Christ and the intercession of Maria. You just can't make it up.

This true stopped me in my tracks and has got me thinking deeply - simply incredible - what a wonderful little girl - to think of all the life-changing challenges & suffering she’d been through in her short life BEFORE she was brutally attacked and then what she was capable of doing during and after the attack… incomprehensible no matter how one thinks about it, it could be said she was a saint right from the beginning of her remarkable life. When I was 7 years old it was the first time I heard the story of Maria Goretti. Of course it was not with many details. Now after 56 years I have heard the whole story. How magnificent! This is well worth your time to watch. You certainly will be moved by this short video. My wife, Joy, and I have been blessed to see and to touch her casket/reliquary when it came to Tulsa. We went early in the evening to a packed mass celebrating St. Maria Goretti at Holy Family Cathedral in downtown Tulsa, and we prayed for her intercession for several hours, from midnight till after 2am at the Cathedral while it was open for 24 hours to venerate St. Maria. Joy and I were there alone praying with St. Maria for quite some time and have some 3rd Class relics we pressed against her reliquary that we greatly venerate.
My body was violated at the age of 4 by my father and cousin. My purity was taken btwn the ages of 8-11 by my stepdad. But I always felt like I forgave them. But maybe never really myself. Thank you for giving me a new and oh so special Saint to learn and know! May she aid me in my continued pursuit for forgiveness and purity of mind, body, and intentions, and especially for my 11 yro girl and 14 yro boy. Working at 4 rosaries a day Gabi! I finally realized my worst sin was not trusting in Christ grace and forgiveness. His suffering on the cross covers and gives mercy to us all. I needed to hear this message. In Italy there is a Sanctuary to Saint Michael Archangel, in the Region of Apulia, on Mount Gargano, part of the commune of Monte Sant'Angelo. It is a UNESCO site. In the fifth century, Saint Michael the Archangel appeared saying:
“I am the Archangel Michael and I am always in the presence of God. The cavern is sacred to me, I have chosen it; I myself am its watchful custodian… [...] WHAT IS ASKED HERE IN PRAYER WILL BE GRANTED. Therefore, go to the mountain and dedicate the grotto to the Christian religion”.

My Nonna had a devotion and she wanted me to have the opportunity of visiting such a great saint. She is a great example of how God teaches us to be merciful and forgiving . I was avoiding this video in my feed also for some reason. I finally thought I will watch it. I’m so glad I did. I remembered how my mom told me when I was young that she didn’t want to name me Anamarija but Marie Goretta. I thought “ Marie Goretta?” I’ve never heard of a name like that before. Now I know that she wanted to name me after St. Maria. She named my brother “Mario” which is a Italian name. I’m so glad I finally got to hear this story.
Ive recently returned to the Catholic faith. Ive been feeling an unquenchable thirst for God that I could no longer ignore. Ive never adopted a payron Saint until two days ago. I choose St Maria Goretti as my patron saint because her feast day is on my birthday but more importantly I need to learn to forgive others but just as important learn to forgive myself. I cried so hard watching this, I'm still crying. Thank you. ❤ So true, forgiveness of oneself is most important. From that flows forgiveness of others. And forgiveness of others is actually for ourselves, we must eventually let go of all that is in our hearts and minds and souls that is not love. Only then can we be free to be our true selves. BTW, I was raised Roman Catholic, educated by nuns. I made my first Communion at age 8. In preparation, we were told to invite Jesus to dwell in our hearts. I did, and felt the undeniable and unmistakable presence of Jesus in my heart. He is still with me ever since and forever. That same year, we watched a movie about Maria Goretti. I was moved, but your video affected me so deeply. Several years ago, I also asked Archangel Michael to help me and be with me. I felt him do so, and he has appeared very vividly to me while I sleep and totally transformed me. He is also with me always. I am very fortunate that martyrdom is not required of me, the fortitude of Maria Goretti is unique. It makes me especially grateful for, and appreciate, the long and happy life I have, and strengthens my resolve to be worthy of it. ❤

Awesome story. Awesome truth about forgiveness. To think the casted leg in this video was also healed with a miracle in the same way as the first construction worker. Along with the cancerous leg. When the video was made they needed to find someone with a crushed foot. They found someone, but not only someone, a devout believer and trusting young man, who also had his foot restored to perfection through Christ and the intercession of Maria. This true stopped me in my tracks and has got me thinking deeply - simply incredible - what a wonderful little girl - to think of all the life-changing challenges & suffering she’d been through in her short life BEFORE she was brutally attacked and then what she was capable of doing during and after the attack… incomprehensible no matter how one thinks about it, it could be said she was a saint right from the beginning of her remarkable life. When I was 7 years old it was the first time I heard the story of Maria Goretti. Of course it was not with many details. Now after 56 years I have heard the whole story. How magnificent! This is well worth your time to watch. You certainly will be moved by this short video. My wife, Joy, and I have been blessed to see and to touch her casket/reliquary when it came to Tulsa. We went early in the evening to a packed mass celebrating St. Maria Goretti at Holy Family Cathedral in downtown Tulsa, and we prayed for her intercession for several hours, from midnight till after 2am at the Cathedral while it was open for 24 hours to venerate St. Maria. Joy and I were there alone praying with St. Maria for quite some time and have some 3rd Class relics we pressed against her reliquary that we greatly venerate.
