Winners of the R&D Postdoctoral Challenge 2022

Celebrating the winners of the R&D Postdoctoral Challenge 2022! Our innovative programme was designed to drive R&D productivity, promote diversity of thought and stimulate research opportunities across the globe.
More than 120 research proposals were received between March and June 2022, with six finalists invited to pitch live to a judging panel of AstraZeneca and external life science leaders in Gothenburg, Sweden on 19 November. Based on the exceptional caliber of the finalists and the pioneering science on show, we’ve agreed to fund all six to undertake postdoctoral research for two years at our strategic R&D centres in the UK, US or Sweden. They will follow the science and help to accelerate drug discovery for some of the world’s most complex diseases. We look forward to seeing the outcomes of their research and how they turn their ideas into reality.
