- Ray Gillen was one of my biggest influences and he died on this day, 25 years ago.
We were both discovered by the same producer Paul O'Neill (Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Savatage, Aerosmith), so this is also a tribute to Paul, since this is the last song he has done with Badlands.

Just completely blown away. This song is so damn hard to sing because it's Ray at his best - killing it on every level and still making it raw and real. Your tone, power and control are incredible - I close my eyes and I hear Ray, and yet with your voice there's an extra element, dynamic and layer. You've taken the very best of Ray and made it your own - that's a sign of a true artist - I don't have the words ... Thank You, for honoring Ray's memory and legacy. Dude wasn't even born when this song was originally recorded, but damn, he did one hell of a job here. I haven't heard him do a bad job on anything he's sang. Good to see the younger generation keeping the music alive, and creating new music to inspire the next generation.

It's not just amazing that you can sing in that super-high register its that you can do it and still put in the soulful expression that Ray was famous for. It shows how respected Ray Gillen's vocals were in the reactions to this video where people are genuinely amazed that anyone could sound like him. Top job - get Jake E Lee & the guys from Badlands on the phone. That's a gig i'd definitely want to see

I agree about badlands being underrated. But you do understand the reasons why you never hear them on the radio and why they were put to sleep?? I absolutely love Ray Gillens vocals but the horrific things he did are unforgivable. I just feel bad that the rest of the band had to suffer. Especially jake e lee.

I love coming back to this song and hearing Dino. If you have not explored the current music scene and listened to his other stuff I believe he is the best of his generation. Literally nothing and I mean nothing he cannot sing.
