Sir, in my Philips Hi Q international stereo system player, the cartridge is repeatedly creating problem and one of the channel sound is very much less as compared to other channel..when I checked the pickup sound from wire, both the channels are having similar sound. What can be done ? Can you please suggest me ?
Why r u using seperate amplifier, what about the inbuilt amplifier.What must b the reasonable price of this turn table, which is useless without belt,& proper spares not available.
Philips HiFi 242 Electronic turntable doesn't has inbuit amplifier the inbult circuit board is actually the govornor unit which elecrronically drives motor in differrent speed. Spares and belts are still available offcourse they are rare to find that's why its antique. But if compare with these days record player or turntable those are use and throw. None are made in India. So will give you more service than todays new junks.
@@duttaroy800 thanks for your information.I think of getting one.I have a Garred changer of England made,old model not functioning properly. If I wish to buy ,1 will u b able to provide few spares, like rubber pully,belt, needle along with price included.

242 is a very good turntable but only drawback of it is that there is a humming issue when tonearm goes near the center.

Right now I am working on one Gerrad Changer Model 210. Hopefully will be able to post another exciting video of restoration.
