Hi I just found this wonderful footage of the stock car racing at Cross in Hand in 1970 on the parade lap I was driving orange car with the blue top 150 and my good friend Bob Gosling was sitting on the bonnet. I wondered if there were any other websites, video's or pictures from 1968 to 1972 from Wimbledon, Walthamstow and of course Cross in Hand where we race regularly.
Only just found this little gem. Lovely piece of archive footage from Cross-in Hand. Some classic old stocks and supers out there. Glad to say I was sometimes there, standing at the bottom of the hill and at least one rollover per meeting as I recall. Sadly gone too soon, but at least surviving on your cine film.
Love it , my dad took me to Matchams/Ringwood first time 1970, best times of my life, Dave pierce and Foxy Dance and Frank Boyles in Midgets, I consider myself very lucky to have seen this most weeks. Thanks for posting, appreciated a lot.
Wow ! fun days and seems like yesterday ! Dave Pearce looks very young , I remember a certain Arthur Fowler and he was racing a Superstox aged 50 ! seemed so old in those days ! thanks for posting :o)
I remember seeing, Dave Pearce in Superstox and George Polley in Hot Rods, later came Barry Lee, he was unpopular with the other Hot Rodders because he clearly had money and his car was newer and better turned out than theirs, I seem to recall that he did struggle a bit with driving it as it was also more powerful. Sad it all ended, fun days!
I used to love coming here to watch racing back in the day - shame they closed it down, the smell was awesome. :). even got hit by a wheel - happy days - Dave Pearce, Brian Edwards, Foxy Dance, Barry Lee

Like the majority of our tracks all is gone now, consigned to a fading memory and odd bits of film like this, great days.

Yes it is. Track used to be behind where the big petrol station is. Closed in 1972.
