The Turkish defense industry achieved a significant success by exporting the first howitzer in its history to Bangladesh. Pre-shipment Testing and Inspection Procedures of Boran howitzers at Karapınar Firing Area were successfully completed. This important development once again revealed the high technology and quality standards that Turkey has achieved in the defense industry.
Boran howitzers serve as modern artillery systems with high maneuverability and firepower, developed by Machinery and Chemical Industry Joint Stock Company - MKE AŞ and ASELSAN and produced to meet the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces. These systems attract attention with their advanced technological features.
Boran howitzers, with their lightweight structure of 105 millimeters in diameter, can be transported by helicopters and planes. This feature allows it to be deployed quickly and flexibly. Thanks to advanced ballistic and fire control systems, Boran howitzers achieve high accuracy and effective firepower. The modern fire control system developed by ASELSAN manages target detection and engagement processes quickly and effectively.
Pre-shipment Testing and Inspection Procedures carried out at the Karapınar Firing Area were carried out to evaluate the performance and reliability of Boran howitzers. During this process, howitzers were tested in various scenarios and different weather conditions. The firepower, accuracy and rapid fire ability of the howitzers were tested in detail. The durability and functionality of howitzers were evaluated in different environmental conditions. The mobility of the howitzers in difficult terrain conditions and their effectiveness in logistics operations were tested.
Officials stated that the tests were completed successfully and the howitzers met all performance criteria. These tests, carried out before shipment to Bangladesh, once again proved the reliability and compliance of Boran howitzers with international standards.
This export is considered an important step in strengthening defense cooperation between Türkiye and Bangladesh. Bangladesh believes that Boran howitzers will make significant contributions to its land forces. This cooperation will also positively affect diplomatic and commercial relations between the two countries.
