I can contribute to much in the field of IT in this discussion... I come from a manufacturing, banking and food background... but one thing I can say is the importance of English.. back in the day when I was in government school for most children English was just something they needed to somehow scrape through from OLs.. like doing western music or dance or something.. and that too the OL exam is so basic it doesn't take much knowledge to pass it.. I was lucky enough to have parents who were exposed to foreign job markets who then selves were not fluent in English but had to learn it to live abroad.. so they knew the value of it and made sure we studies English well.. now 8nwas a late bloomer in school... so there were kids much much smarter or at least scored much more than me in school.. went on to do science and math and all that .. but now when I look back I am doing better off then most of them.. and I attribute all that to English.. 1. it opened up the world to me in terms of knowledge.. 2. when we do go out to the world unlike most locals who find a set of locals and make that thier group cos they are weak in anglish and thus lack the confidence to talk to others I got to make move with people all around the world... 3. in school I was able to join and work is clubs like interact that helps you work with other children from different schools.. organise large projects getting 2000+ school children from all around the island for one event.. and how to socialise with the opposite sex.. 4. incurrent times in opens up the global world of learning for you from UA-cam to audiobooks to Google.. everything is mostly in English.. all this helps a person from an island nation to not get stuck in the island mentality and get a global mentality.. not only that for those who want to go abroad and work English will be the first tool to make sure your not stuck in a low level job. now Sri Lanka has tried to implement English education like sirisena tried to ban plastic overnight or gota tried to go organic.. there has to be a long term plan.. first by training new teaches.. for outstation schools where teachers are hard to come by take a local grounded educated person from the locality who is not employed and train them with the guarantee that they don't have to get transfers out of the locality. get private companies to join in with infrastructure and capital as they will be those we benefit from this isn the long run.. these things are very simple things that can be done if someone really had the need to do it and not just work for the next election... only one thing needs to be sorted.. as soon as you start something like this those fake සිංහල බෞද්ධ patriots will get on the street and start their usual dance.. they need to be delt with so they don't poinsion the minds of our people..
First we need to make the mind set of our community that English is only another language and if u make a mistake it’s not something to be embarrassed cz it’s not the language u familiar since ur birth…

Bro, I used to be a digital nomad for 3 years now and I am originally from downsouth. With the powercuts most of my friends ( who are digital nomads ) had to leave from the island to Bali due to the powecuts. Its been a huge issue for us basically we didn't wanted any government support. We just wanted power and good internet connection.
If you save all the money you spend in Bali you could have setup a power backup by now. The power cut is just 2 hours. If IT companies that operate through the 2 hours of power cut then certainly individuals also can.
Guys, its it better to build much co working spaces as much as possible? I think this will make an impact for digital nomads to visit to island again. Also each and every place needs to have solar so there will be un interrupted power supply. In downsouth there are couple of places I would recommend to visit - Outpost Weligama - Coliving & Coworking - Pasijou - Hangtime

Bro, I used to be a digital nomad for 3 years now and I am originally from downsouth. With the powercuts most of my friends ( who are digital nomads ) had to leave from the island to Bali due to the powecuts. Its been a huge issue for us basically we didn't wanted any government support. We just wanted power and good internet connection.

If you save all the money you spend in Bali you could have setup a power backup by now. The power cut is just 2 hours. If IT companies that operate through the 2 hours of power cut then certainly individuals also can.

Guys, its it better to build much co working spaces as much as possible? I think this will make an impact for digital nomads to visit to island again. Also each and every place needs to have solar so there will be un interrupted power supply. In downsouth there are couple of places I would recommend to visit
